Our client was ready for a re-do and approached Renovisions for help to design and build a beautiful and durable space that will last as well as add value to her home. The challenge was to design the new kitchen to allow for better traffic, flow and functionalize this space for much needed storage. Moving the refrigerator to the other side of the kitchen and opening up a section of the wall between the dining room and kitchen was a great design solution. We increased the flow to the dining room and created a spacious feel with better access from the dining area. Warm hues from the granite countertops provided a rich contrast to the Ivory colored cabinetry that brightened up the room. Under-cabinet lighting was added over all countertop areas and is controlled by a dimmer switch for both task and ambient lighting. The brushed nickel hardware compliments the stainless steel appliances and Jado pull-down single lever faucet. The walls are a warm and inviting earthy green tone and ties in well with the soft linen hue of the beautiful subway tile backsplash. Simple, clean lines and earthy materials like granite and stainless steel worked together to soften the whole look. Renovisions turned this outdated kitchen into a magnificent space where this homeowner plans on spending a lot of time.

Our task was to make the small apartment as functional as possible with a modern and clean design as the client would rent it out. We have chosen furniture that will be both functional and emphasize the overall idea of ​​the design. We have made the layout so that there is both a bite and a rest corner where the tenant can feel calm after the busy daily life of the capital. Some of the colors in the living room were also transferred to the bedroom.

This kitchen took a tired, 80’s builder kitchen and revamped it into a personalized gathering space for our wonderful client. The existing space was split up by the dated configuration of eat-in kitchen table area to one side and cramped workspace on the other. It didn’t just under-serve our client’s needs; it flat out discouraged them from using the space. Our client desired an open kitchen with a central gathering space where family and friends could connect. To open things up, we removed the half wall separating the kitchen from the dining room and the wall that blocked sight lines to the family room and created a narrow hallway to the kitchen. The old oak cabinets weren't maximizing storage and were dated and dark. We used Waypoint Living Spaces cabinets in linen white to brighten up the room. On the east wall, we created a hutch-like stack that features an appliance garage that keeps often used countertop appliance on hand but out of sight. The hutch also acts as a transition from the cooking zone to the coffee and wine area. We eliminated the north window that looked onto the entry walkway and activated this wall as storage with refrigerator enclosure and pantry. We opted to leave the east window as-is and incorporated it into the new kitchen layout by creating a window well for growing plants and herbs. The countertops are Pental Quartz in Carrara. The sleek cabinet hardware is from our friends at Amerock in a gorgeous satin champagne bronze. One of the most striking features in the space is the pattern encaustic tile from Tile Shop. The pop of blue in the backsplash adds personality and contrast to the champagne accents. The reclaimed wood cladding surrounding the large east-facing window introduces a quintessential Colorado vibe, and the natural texture balances the crisp white cabinetry and geometric patterned tile. Minimalist modern lighting fixtures from Mitzi by Hudson Valley Lighting provide task lighting over the sink and at the wine/ coffee station. The visual lightness of the sink pendants maintains the openness and visual connection between the kitchen and dining room. Together the elements make for a sophisticated yet casual vibe-- a comfortable chic kitchen. Conceived more similar to a loft type space rather than a traditional single family home, the homeowner was seeking to challenge a normal arrangement of rooms in favor of spaces that are dynamic in all 3 dimensions, interact with the yard, and capture the movement of light and air. As an artist that explores the beauty of natural objects and scenes, she tasked us with creating a building that was not precious - one that explores the essence of its raw building materials and is not afraid of expressing them as finished. We designed opportunities for kinetic fixtures, many built by the homeowner, to allow flexibility and movement. Our main task was the illumination of the owners’ artwork, which had a light fixture that was too close to the wall and left the piece in shadows. We moved the lighting to the ceiling and precisely spaced it a foot and a half out for a perfect illumination of the artwork. Conscious of the client’s clean aesthetic, we ordered switch and dimmer plates in the same palette as the wall color for inconspicuous placement. We also created a more integrated, intuitive control panel for our clients, putting all the lighting on the first floor into a simple control panel and requiring just one button for different settings like “Welcome,” “Morning,” “Evening,” Entertain,” and “Off.” Our new design beautifully lit the client’s prized artwork, and better attuned the lighting to their lifestyle.
