We designed this home office for someone who needs to stay organized and focused all day. The layout keeps things clean and simple, using custom built-in shelves to save floor space and keep paperwork out of sight. The desk sits right where the natural light is best, and the warm wood finishes make the whole room feel welcoming rather than cold. It’s a practical, hardworking setup that still looks great in a home.

A laundry room utility sink area styled for both function and flow. A farmhouse-style sink and dark countertop create a durable workspace, while a labeled jar for detergent pods and tidy counter styling keep daily laundry tasks simple and visually clean.

Mixing the materials, textures, and colors provides her with the eclectic “pottery barn” feeling she was looking for, all anchored together on top of the stunning new area rug cohesively grounding new colors together. Not to mention the juxtaposition between the individual pieces installed: industrial steel and wood occasional tables paired with a very modern acrylic side table, rustic hair-on-hide foot stool sitting in front of a streamlined club chair and full-height Taffeta window panels. To brighten the space was simple – the lining was removed from the existing woven window treatments and the light yellow paint on the walls both remain and blend perfectly with the new design style. The solid wood bed is warm and inviting with a mid-century modern flair. Keeping your bedding white and crisp is timeless and clean, then adding wonderful accent pillows will pull in other materials and textures we love in boho/mid-century design. The rug also helps give warmth and comfort to your space. The nightstands will provide some personal storage for you and tie into the design of the desk. To keep the surface of a nightstand free of lamps when possible, so your sconces will be the perfect light source for you at bedtime. There are significant architectural elements in the bedroom that we wanted to highlight. Adding in accents of black metal ties the furnishings into the architecture, really giving the furnishings a sense of belonging. Finally, the full-length mirror is perfect for the bedroom, has an art deco vibe, and is essential for making the room look more spacious. The bench in front of the mirror helps visually ground the mirror, adds more texture to space, and is conveniently located to sit to take off your shoes at the end of a long day. Both the desk and the task lamp relate entirely back to the nightstands and again have the black metal accents. The desk chair is comfortable and stylish, the perfect blend of beauty and function. Adding shelving above the desk allows accessorize or add some essential work items up there. A hanging planter nearby gives you more plant life and visual height in the room, and of course, more great texture.

Backsplash- Natural stone subway tile. -Inspiration and Design Challenges The Original kitchen in this 1970’s raised ranch was bright an open yet left the dining room closed off from the home and wasn’t large enough for the island that Joe and his wife would have liked. Joe and Tim from THI Co. had developed a plan relocate the kitchen to one exterior wall and allow for an island that would function for both seating and entertaining. The challenge we faced was the original windows of the kitchen had to completely go. Relying solely on the open floor plan for natural light, Tim opened up the Dining room wall, removed the dividing half wall to the family room and widened doorways to the great room leading from the kitchen and dining room. The removal of the soffits and consistent wood flooring help tie together the adjacent rooms. The plan was for simple clean lines with subtle detail brought out in the trim on the cabinetry and custom 10ft island back panel. Finding a set of appliances was the next task. The kitchen was designed with the intention of being used. The Whirlpool convection wall ovens give the kitchen 3 possible functioning ovens with along with the Samsung 5 burner range. The end result is a simple elegant design that has all the functionality of galley kitchen yet the feel of an open kitchen with twice the square footage.
