This South Seas Island influenced shower with tropical foliage, pebble floor, and side walls and ceiling reminiscent of weathered clapboard siding on an old beach cottage. The details: - The accent wall is an Amazonia Cott Tropic design from @thetileshop that we laid out to create this mix matched design. - The floor is an olive “Botany Bay Coin” tile from @mosaictile with a custom “prism” natural gray grout color. - The side walls and ceiling tile is 6”x12” “Pacific Blanco” tile from @thetileshop. - We started with a standard drain cover to match the oil rubbed bronze hardware. However, when it arrived, it looked totally different from the shower faucet finish. We considered having the drain cover electrostatically recoated but the lead time was 3 weeks. Finally, we found the best solution of a unique drain cover in a cream finish and the curved design was so appropriate with the "coin" shower floor. The problem turned into a blessing! - Glass French doors with Colonial style back to back pull handles in oil rubbed bronze.

This charming century home is steeped in Oshawa's history, but it needed a facelift that would bring it up to speed for todays living. We removed the tired cabinets and corrected the sagging legacy beam, in order pave the way for a new and fresh look in the kitchen, which was more in keeping with the homeowners lifestyle. New porcilain floors were laid and new shaker style cabinetry was installed, finished with custom Benjamin Moore "Oxford white" paint. Cambria "Brittanica" quartz countertops were used complete with a matching waterfall quartz end to make the look much more contemporary. Mosaic tile was used for the backsplash and open shelving in walnut added to tie in some of the history of the home with the great new look of the kitchen. The end result is simply stunning!

Designed by Hush House, the project transforms a sloped residential lot into three functional outdoor zones using a slatted steel retaining wall, a pea gravel courtyard, and a shaded patio lounge. 2. Design Challenge & Architectural Solution The Challenge: Leveling a sloped backyard lot to create usable, multi-functional outdoor living spaces for family gathering and entertaining. The Solution: Installing a low-profile, slatted steel retaining structure to level the upper lawn while creating a seamless step-down transition into a pea gravel courtyard and shaded patio lounge directly adjacent to the main home. 3. Key Architectural Features & Materials Slatted Steel Retaining Wall: A custom steel retaining structure that encases, levels, and elevates the upper lawn area. Pea Gravel Courtyard: A low-maintenance gravel patio designed for flexible seating, dining, and casual outdoor entertaining. Shaded Patio Lounge: An oversized covered seating area situated right next to the house for all-day shade and comfort. Three-Zone Functional Layout: A layered landscape plan designed to activate distinct areas for concurrent family activities and large social gatherings.
