The kitchen utilizes a mixture of warm brown wood and sleek, glossy white cabinetry. Stainless steel appliances, door pulls and pendant lighting tie the look together. A few shades of grey, a splash of white, and a dark matte blue — this Chicago kitchen balances color beautifully. The hues are complemented with gorgeous modern decor like the statement mirror in the dining area, the pendant lamps over the island, and the intricate chandelier over the sleek metal and wood dining table. Photo credit Michael Partenio This new home takes advantage of a beautiful hilltop site. The outdoor spaces function as an extension of the house and support the family’s casual, sports-oriented lifestyle. The design, for a family of seven, provides spaces for individual privacy and family gatherings. The design challenge was to incorporate a number of sustainable features into the design. The south-facing roof is integrated with a 5-kilowatt photovoltaic system, generating electricity for the home and furnishing emergency backup power. The heating is exclusively radiant with high efficiency boilers partially burning biofuel. Measures taken to produce an efficient building envelope include a drainage plane behind the siding, spray foam insulation, and high performance, insulated window glass.

This contemporary bathroom design in Doylestown, PA combines sleek lines with comfort and style to create a space that will be the center of attention in any home. The white DuraSupreme cabinets pair perfectly with the Cambria engineered quartz countertop, Riobel fixtures, and Top Knobs hardware, all accented by Voguebay decorative tile behind the Gatco tilt mirrors. Cabinetry includes a makeup vanity with Fleurco backlit mirror, customized pull-out storage, pull-out grooming cabinet, and tower cabinets with mullion doors. A white Victoria + Albert tub serves as a focal point, next to the contrasting black tile wall. The large alcove shower includes a corner shelf, pebble tile base, and matching pebble shower niche.

This waterfront home in Miami, FL is a beautiful modern masterpiece. This home has unique statements like the animal skin rug and modern lounge furniture. It incorporates lots of glass walls and windows to create a sleek and modern feel. The rooms of this modern home are truly a work of art.

From Chester County Country to sleek and European. These clients relocated to Chester County Pa but wanted a taste of their previous kitchen in Denmark. The tired solid oak wood flooring was refinished to a beautiful natural color by Alex Smith Flooring. This natural finish speaks for itself. The Fieldstone cabinetry in the Tacoma door style with white painted finish give this kitchen the sleek European feel. MSI Quartz countertops in Arctic White are a great choice for years of maintenance free living. Large format backsplash tiles add to this clean look with less grout lines. The lead carpenter John Harvey and crew did a great job with the installation and all the fit and finishes. For a simple kitchen it makes quite a statement. One of my favorite looks this year.

This 1920’s house was updated top to bottom to accommodate a growing family. Modern touches of glass partitions and sleek cabinetry provide a sensitive contrast to the existing divided light windows and traditional moldings. Mid-Century Remodel on Tabor Hill This sensitively sited house was designed by Robert Coolidge, a renowned architect and grandson of President Calvin Coolidge. The house features a symmetrical gable roof and beautiful floor to ceiling glass facing due south, smartly oriented for passive solar heating. Situated on a steep lot, the house is primarily a single story that steps down to a family room. This lower level opens to a New England exterior. Our goals for this project were to maintain the integrity of the original design while creating more modern spaces. Our design team worked to envision what Coolidge himself might have designed if he'd had access to modern materials and fixtures. With the aim of creating a signature space that ties together the living, dining, and kitchen areas, we designed a variation on the 1950's "floating kitchen." In this inviting assembly, the kitchen is located away from exterior walls, which allows views from the floor-to-ceiling glass to remain uninterrupted by cabinetry. We updated rooms throughout the house; installing modern features that pay homage to the fine, sleek lines of the original design. Finally, we opened the family room to a terrace featuring a fire pit. Since a hallmark of our design is the diminishment of the hard line between interior and exterior, we were especially pleased for the opportunity to update this classic work.

The Broome Street Loft is a beautiful example of a classic Soho loft conversion. The design highlights its historic architecture of the space while integrating modern elements. The 14-foot-high tin ceiling, metal Corinthian columns and iconic brick wall are contrasted with clean lines and modern profiles, creating a captivating dialogue between the old and the new. The plan was completely revised: the bedroom was shifted to the side area to combine the living room and kitchen spaces into a larger, open plan space. The bathroom and laundry also shifted to a more efficient layout, which both widened the main living space and created the opportunity to add a new Powder Room. The high ceilings allowed for the creation of a new storage space above the laundry and bathroom, with a sleek, modern stair to provide access. The kitchen seamlessly blends modern detailing with a vintage style. An existing recess in the brick wall serves as a focal point for the relocated Kitchen with the addition of custom bronze, steel and glass shelves. The kitchen island anchors the space, and the knife-edge stone countertop and custom metal legs make it feel more like a table than a built-in piece. The bathroom features the brick wall which runs through the apartment, creating a uniquely Soho experience. The cove lighting throughout creates a bright interior space, and the white and grey tones of the tile provide a neutral counterpoint to the red brick. A 1960's home is given an open plan kitchen with modern features. A large waterfall kitchen island was installed, providing additional storage space and seating arrangements. Sleek white cabinets coordinate with the white ceiling accent that hosts a series of recessed lights while also contrasting with the beautiful, dark wood ceiling beams. Light wooden cabinets were used to keep the space feeling fresh and clean, while a gray subway tile backsplash adds a chic shine, complementing the modern design. This 3/4 bathroom combines timeless retro charm with sleek modern aesthetics, creating a striking and functional space: Color Palette: A classic black-and-white scheme defines the design, with bold black accents contrasting against crisp white walls and fixtures. Flooring: Iconic black-and-white hexagonal tiles bring vintage flair to the floor, adding texture and visual interest. Shower: A walk-in glass shower with matte black hardware and white subway tile walls, complete with dark grout for a retro yet contemporary edge. Vanity: A streamlined white vanity with a black quartz countertop and sleek handles, paired with a round backlit mirror for a touch of modern elegance. Lighting: Mid-century-inspired sconce lights with black and gold finishes flank the mirror, adding warmth and character to the space.
