Despite it shows itself with simplicity and pure linearity, the peculiarities of Simplicia are multiple and all determinants, to reveal an immense creative character. A constructive modularity of remarkable compositional flexibility allows customizations of great aesthetic functional innovation, thanks to the strong contribution of a targeted range of colors: matte finish doors with ABS edging to match the color CONFETTO, SABBIA, CANAPA, LAVAGNA and wood finishes TABACCO, CENERE, OLMO, DAMA, CONCHIGLIA, LONDRA and NATURALE with pore synchronized. To theseare added also a complete set of attachments multi-purpose, together with electric appliances and hoods of high technology.

The design of this home was driven by the owners’ desire for a three-bedroom waterfront home that showcased the spectacular views and park-like setting. As nature lovers, they wanted their home to be organic, minimize any environmental impact on the sensitive site and embrace nature. This unique home is sited on a high ridge with a 45° slope to the water on the right and a deep ravine on the left. The five-acre site is completely wooded and tree preservation was a major emphasis. Very few trees were removed and special care was taken to protect the trees and environment throughout the project. To further minimize disturbance, grades were not changed and the home was designed to take full advantage of the site’s natural topography. Oak from the home site was re-purposed for the mantle, powder room counter and select furniture. The visually powerful twin pavilions were born from the need for level ground and parking on an otherwise challenging site. Fill dirt excavated from the main home provided the foundation. All structures are anchored with a natural stone base and exterior materials include timber framing, fir ceilings, shingle siding, a partial metal roof and corten steel walls. Stone, wood, metal and glass transition the exterior to the interior and large wood windows flood the home with light and showcase the setting. Interior finishes include reclaimed heart pine floors, Douglas fir trim, dry-stacked stone, rustic cherry cabinets and soapstone counters. Exterior spaces include a timber-framed porch, stone patio with fire pit and commanding views of the Occoquan reservoir. A second porch overlooks the ravine and a breezeway connects the garage to the home. Numerous energy-saving features have been incorporated, including LED lighting, on-demand gas water heating and special insulation. Smart technology helps manage and control the entire house. This kitchen is loaded with fun features. Clerestory windows, frosted glass panels on upper cabinets, a stainless steel counter-top along the wall and granite at the island. It showcases wire-brushed, acid-stained oak flooring, beautiful and functional cabinetry throughout, day-lighting, high-end appliances, an outdoor view at the sink, and plenty of seating space for entertaining.

There can be no doubt, the best way to understand and appreciate Epoca is to focus on the details first. The use of unusual elements such as the “bread-holder column” give the kitchen an especially harmonic look; here, the rhythm of daily life follows that 
of Nature. A traditional kitchen built in solid 25mm thickness, which transmits sensations, associations and fragrances that only natural materials can create.

Nestled in the heart of the Laurelhurst neighborhood of Seattle, this charming home has been completed updated. Our clients desired a design that is fresh, understated and family friendly. The original kitchen was crowded and disconnected from other parts of the home. Our focus was to open up the spaces while maintaining the home’s integratory. The kitchen is now the center of the home with a large island for gathering. We selected classic finishes with modern touches throughout each space, thus providing a fresh look. Simple and smart furnishings were selected. We layered texture, color and scale with textiles and art to offer clean, uncluttered design lines that our clients wanted.
