Kathy Wirtala of Virginia Flora designed a sentimental tribute to the women in her family featuring seasonal garden roses. This scene shows the context: a painting of Wirtala's mother as a child, with her birth month flower, Rose.
"Her name was Evelyn...and I grew these David Austin ‘Evelyn’ Roses in her honor," the designer explains.
Along with the ‘Evelyn’ Roses from her garden are Apricot ‘Chantilly’ Snapdragons and Bupleurum from South River Flower Farm, Woodford, VA.

This basket looks like a giant flower ball because it is planted in the sides as well as the top (kinsmangarden.com). Snapdragons form the centerpiece. 'Blackie' and 'Margerite' sweet potato vines are alternated with petunias and begonias in the side holes. Design and photo by Pamela Crawford, who designs landscapes in Palm Beach County, including Boca Raton, Delray Beach, the town of Palm Beach, Jupiter, Wellington, and Palm Beach Gardens (pamela-crawford.com).

Collected decor in a bright, modern dining room with custom furnishings. This dining room decor exudes eclectic elegance. An antique marionette figure standing on an Asian inspired hand-painted black pedestal is set against soft ivory drapery. The whitewashed dining table introduces modern simplicity, paired with a velvet armchair that exudes subtle luxury. A collection of brass vases filled with pink snapdragons and soft blooms add romance and old-world character to the tabletop in this transitional style dining room design.
