What comes to mind when you envision the perfect multi-faceted living spaces? Is it an expansive amount of counter space at which to cook, work, or entertain freely? Abundant and practical cabinet organization to keep clutter at bay and the space looking beautiful? Or perhaps the answer is all of the above, along with a cosy spot to retreat after the long day is complete. The project we are sharing with you here has each of these elements in spades: spaces that combine beauty with function, promote comfort and relaxation, and make time at home enjoyable for this active family of three. Our main focus was to remodel the kitchen, where we hoped to create a functional layout for everyday use. Our clients also hoped to incorporate a home office right into the kitchen itself. However, the clients realized that renovation the kitchen alone wouldn’t create the full transformation they were looking for. Kitchens interact intimately with their adjacent spaces, especially family rooms, and we were determined to elevate their daily living experience from top to bottom. We redesigned the kitchen and living area to increase work surfaces and storage solutions, create comfortable and luxurious spaces to unwind, and update the overall aesthetic to fit their more modern, collected taste. Our goal was to create a trendy and sophisticated environment that promoted stress-free living in a light and airy space.

We chose the perfect pieces and accessories to aesthetically amalgamate the customer’s kitchen, dinning and family room areas. We selected accessories taking into careful consideration the existing furniture and architectural style of the room, bringing a color palate to create a happy and optimistic atmosphere. A place designed for entertaining and receiving friend! The basement provides adequate natural light, but walling off areas would have eliminated that lighting benefit for certain rooms. Our ‘divided yet open’ solution creates cohesiveness in the space. and still promotes a sense of inclusiveness for all of the participants.

The arched lotus screen filters the sunlight and a hand carved floral sofa graces the living room. The carving is so delicate and detailed, it takes your breath away. Indian interior design is about balancing energies and creating a place that promotes health and prosperity. An antique Ganesha door graces the entryway and you are greeted with a carved statue of Krishna, the Hindu god who preserves the world with beauty and peace.

The kitchen is designed and furnished with plenty of room for a family of four, plus enough room for entertaining. The family room was designed for a family of four to relax, watch tv, play games, and “live” in. Two sisters desired spaces unique to each of them. While the younger sister prefers bright colors like fuschia, apple green and bright aqua, her older sister found pale, icy blue and grey her perfect palette. The beautifully decorated game room is a place that promotes both relaxation and fun. Whether the client is lounging on the comfy sectional watching TV or crafting on the game table, the versatility of the space satisfies every need. With the infusion of coral and magenta color schemes, a fresh and lively atmosphere is created.
