A close up view of the custom copper farmhouse sink as well as the reclaimed wood in the herringbone pattern located on the smaller of the two kitchen islands. Here you can see the oak custom-made cabinets in the background as well as the back-painted glass backsplash. The copper sink and iron countertop face was hand crafted by a local metal artist. Stillwater Woodworking crafted the custom cabinets and island, which was made with wood tile from E & S Tile applied in a herringbone pattern. This is the element that started it all. The first time the client walked into Kitchen and Bath Design Studio, she described her vision of the perfect backsplash. “You mean like this?” the designer said, pulling out a sample material and laying it on the counter. That was the moment the client knew she’d found the perfect designer. The client never wavered in her vision; the same Lunada Bay iridescent glass tile graces her Farmhouse Chic kitchen today. You just can’t beat love at first sight. The cabinet finish is painted white with a brushed glaze to give a vintage fee. The colorful tile backsplash above the range is framed by arched valances, creating a beautiful focal point. The colorful tile is Mackenzie Childs, remaining tile is Sonoma. As each family member was over 6 feet tall, the range top was raised by 6 inches. This minimized bending, adding additional comfort.
