Complete remodel of existing kitchen. Two walls were removed for an open feel into the Family Room. A bar height counter was added for comfortable seating and eating. Cabinets and counter tops extend the length of the back wall for much needed storage. Appliances are a must for this couple. Specific storage was put in place for easy access to each item.

This piece was custom designed to specifically fit the customer's two dogs. Keeping the dogs in mind this piece was painted with an enamel paint for superior durability, and a plastic material was added to the floor to make for easy cleanup. The large side of the kennel does not have a drawer above it to maximize the head room for the larger dog. The two drawers that exist have full extension 24" drawer slides to make storing dog related items easily accessible. Custom carved dog bone handles add a personal touch to this piece. This piece is a great addition to these dog parents home and will last them for years to come!

Depending on your kitchen layout, island sinks can save you space and functionality. One of the main reasons for the main sink in the island is how much time you spend at the sink. If you tend to socialize more in the kitchen while doing tasks, island sinks may be for you! Since this was a family home reno project, a ton of interaction will take place in this area! We made sure to create an inviting space along with Etch Design Group.
There was a full gut of the kitchen. This included all cabinetry, countertops, and backsplash. The main focus in this kitchen part of the reno was moving the sink location from the wall to the newly installed island. The new layout included new cabinets painted a beautiful shade of timeless white, on top of those polished Statuario quartz countertops with light veining were installed. These new custom cabinets were customized to the homeowners' specifications for her kitchenware items.
Electrically, we installed 6 new LED recessed canned lights and added new outlets to the island to add more lighting in the home.

A transformation of a modest raised ranch into a modern oasis. I was the interior designer and general contractor from mechanicals to finishing. It’s also my personal home.
The interior design style is that of modern minimalist meets organic modern. I wanted a space that reduced distractions and let the eyes, head, and soul rest. Where everything inside the home has a specific use and purpose. The objects in our home are fewer but each hold a great personal value. You might expect to see this airy aesthetic, with its gallery white walls, in California or New York. Not nestled in a modest 50 year old neighborhood in Omaha, Nebraska. Creating a minimal aesthetic is one of the trickiest design styles to pull off. It is more than just less stuff and lots of white. It means sticking to these design principals:
-weaving in an abundance of textures
-incorporating natural finishes
-keenly curating art
-giving extra attention to scale
-limiting purely decorative items
-maximizing natural light
This style is not to be confused with the frugality of reductive design. I have incorporated many elevated basics that create an aesthetic of quiet luxury:
-architectural bead for trim-less doors
-first-of-its kind interior door hardware made of terrazzo
-historical marble found in landmark interiors like the NY Public Library
-premium flush air vents that disappear out of site
-luxury appliances from GE Café and Signature
-elegant and resilient terrazzo field tiles
Ours was not a simple interior remodel and addition:
-gutted and remodeled the existing 2,000 SF
-added on approximately another 1,000 SF
-moved and installed all new major mechanicals i.e. heating, plumbing and electrical.
-knocked through foundation walls to extend the space back
-dug down and built up

The new layout included new cabinets painted a beautiful shade of timeless white, on top of those polished Statuario quartz countertops with light veining were installed. These new custom cabinets were customized to the homeowners' specifications for her kitchenware items.
Electrically, we installed 6 new LED recessed canned lights and added new outlets to the island to add more lighting in the home.

It sparkles, it shimmers, it glitters, its glass. Glass mosaics are everywhere, from gorgeous kitchen backsplashes like this one, to color baths and reflective fireplaces. But as beautiful as this backsplash is, it’s only the beginning of this great kitchen.
Our kitchen begins with a little bump, a simple little peninsula with room for one. Upon the deep dark espresso cabinets sits the contrasting countertop. The super glossy white stone with subtle swirls reflects the colors of the glass mosaics. We gave the peninsula a little overhang and pulled up an enticing contemporary stool.
Although the kitchen space is fairly large, two walls contained openings to other spaces, while a third contained a large and sunny bay window. Rather than bottle neck our traffic flow, we chose to make the most of the walls we had. We started with a deep undermount stainless steel sink with a far-reaching faucet with pull out spray. Beside this, we placed our contemporary stainless steel dishwasher.
To keep the feeling open and airy we installed dark floating shelves, which really pop against our multicolored glass backsplash. We added lighting under the bottom shelf for extra sparkle, as well as the perfect task lighting.
We needed some wall cabinets, not just for storage but to compliment our microwave. Above the stainless steel stove our matching microwave serves multipurpose, from cooking, to venting, to task lighting the stove. When space counts, make the most of it. We nestled our stove beside the dishwasher, giving ourselves room for a landing zone at the end. The cooking area feels even more spacious set next to our large bay window.
To give us the greatest amount of storage, we added a floor to ceiling pantry. Although it is only 12″ deep, it’s 48″ wide. The clean “slab” style door create an uncluttered look that compliments the patterning of the floor. We used 6″ x 24″ porcelain wood look flooring. This flooring exploded on the market not too long ago, giving you the look of hardwoods, without fear of water, dents and scratches. The floor will never need to be refinished, no matter how much abuse it takes.
Look at all that storage. There’s even room on the bottom for that huge mixer we all seem to have. The pantry gives us plenty of room for all we need to store and it’s 12″ depth means it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. No more pulling out half your stored items just to find that product in the very back.
We round out this fabulous kitchen with a full-sized, bottom freezer, French door refrigerator. Espresso panels encase the sides while a deep and tall upper cabinet gives us room to store some more. By placing the refrigerator between the two entrances to the kitchen, family and friends can get a beverage without getting in the cook’s way.
To direct our lighting around the room and focus on specific areas, we used a long track of spot lights with a contemporary look. Between the window in the daytime, spots and undercabinet lights at night, the kitchen is always bright, even with the darker cabinetry.

This modern credenza would make the perfect storage cabinet in nearly any environment. It is handcrafted by us here in the USA utilizing only the highest quality materials and it’s made to last a lifetime. It sits atop a black platform base (wrapped in vinyl to give a little texture). The raised geometric pattern of the doors add a touch of modernism. It is a very versatile piece and would be well-suited as a modern TV stand/console, credenza, buffet, or stylish sideboard.
Behind each door you’ll find an adjustable inner shelf for maximum flexibility. Push-to-open doors eliminate the need for handles or knobs on the front so as to not distract from the stylish, modern look of the doors.
In addition to making these in many different widths and heights, we can also build yours in nearly any configuration. Want a more “open”, “airy” look? We can make yours with an open middle section (meaning doors only on the outsides). Or, need drawers? We can do that as well!
It is shown here in rich brown walnut, but yours can be made in any of the woods shown on our wood options page.
Other door colors are available as well. For a more vintage look, consider our vintage orange doors. Or, for a more Hollywood glam look, go bold with our gold! See our other items for examples in different color and configurations.
Looking for a more mid-century look? Take a look at this unit with our tapered, gold spindle legs as opposed to the platform base.
For many years of trouble-free use, we use only top-of-the-line hardware (hinges, push to open mechanisms) from Blum and Salice. Only the highest quality furniture-grade veneers are used as well. Like any natural material, expect some slight variations in grain and coloration.
Using this to store electronic devices that need power? Let us know and we’re happy to add holes in the back for cables to exit for no additional charge.
Need a different width? Yours can be made with any number of doors.
Dimensions: approximately 82.75" wide x 19" deep x 25.25" high . (The dimensions are the exterior dimensions of the cabinet. The patterns on the doors will extend slightly past the cabinet)
Model: Regency (shown in walnut with white doors and platform base).

The client is mostly confined to a wheelchair and she asked us to design and produce a bathroom she could use in her chair for the sink, and have a bench she could slide across with the help of grab bars to help her access the overhead rain shower and handheld. Every aspect of this bathroom was designed with the client and made specific to her needs. We added a ceiling soffit with rope lights to create lighting along with fun surface mounted lights with added reflection. A floating shelf was installed under the mirror to hold items she needed. Rope lights were added under the shelving to reflect off the counter. The highly graphic tile picked out by the client stimulates the imagination. Within the shower room every area is water tight. A clever design with the niche was employed making the pony wall cap have double duty as a shelf within the niche.

This unit, located in a 4-flat owned by TKS Owners Jeff and Susan Klimala, was remodeled as their personal pied-à-terre, and doubles as an Airbnb property when they are not using it. Jeff and Susan were drawn to the location of the building, a vibrant Chicago neighborhood, 4 blocks from Wrigley Field, as well as to the vintage charm of the 1890’s building. The entire 2 bed, 2 bath unit was renovated and furnished, including the kitchen, with a specific Parisian vibe in mind.
Although the location and vintage charm were all there, the building was not in ideal shape -- the mechanicals -- from HVAC, to electrical, plumbing, to needed structural updates, peeling plaster, out of level floors, the list was long. Susan and Jeff drew on their expertise to update the issues behind the walls while also preserving much of the original charm that attracted them to the building in the first place -- heart pine floors, vintage mouldings, pocket doors and transoms.
Because this unit was going to be primarily used as an Airbnb, the Klimalas wanted to make it beautiful, maintain the character of the building, while also specifying materials that would last and wouldn’t break the budget. Susan enjoyed the hunt of specifying these items and still coming up with a cohesive creative space that feels a bit French in flavor.
Parisian style décor is all about casual elegance and an eclectic mix of old and new. Susan had fun sourcing some more personal pieces of artwork for the space, creating a dramatic black, white and moody green color scheme for the kitchen and highlighting the living room with pieces to showcase the vintage fireplace and pocket doors.

Entertaining and bringing people together is what this family is all about. Birthdays involve amazing cakes like you see on those TV shows, and groups of 30 people or more. Their ideal kitchen needed to accommodate that level of baking and hosting, but also support the daily rhythms of life.
Our collaborative design was guided by Vastu Shastra, an ancient architectural tradition that predates feng shui. Based on Vedic traditions that harmonize human behavior with natural forces in the world, Vastu Shanstra basically suggests how to inhabit a place in the best way possible.
The objectives were:
-Relocate the entire kitchen so the home’s heat source (oven) is in the southeast
-Incorporate symmetry into the overall design
-Create a large space for entertaining – open and airy with lots of light
-Simultaneously separate but join cooking and gathering spaces, allowing the cook to have a cook-specific zone that is still a part of any gathering
-Individual storage for small appliances – making them easier to use
-Simplicity – the space should be easy to use and maintain
Design challenges we solved for:
-Incorporate three load bearing points of the house
-Provide structural support that was not obvious
-Reconfigure kitchen utilities to another part of the home
-Maximize storage space
Design solutions and mindful innovations became an exciting motivation that drove the project:
-Double-horseshoe design features two symmetrical islands that seat 18 people comfortably
-Downdraft ventilation behind rangetop allows unobstructed views
-Overhead beams for structural support
-Equip nearby dining room with locking bar and wine cabinet
-Roll-out appliance shelves on back of cooking island are powered for easy use
-Symmetrical fridge and freezer columns separated by oven
-Cabinets along back of the cooking area for everyday items
-Tall pantry cabinet has four drawers for paperwork
-Spacious walk-in storage pantry has a counter with power outlets
-Coffee station has a trash can directly below for easy clean up
-Two sinks and dishwashers for easy cleanup
“A lot of relationships are built over food,” the homeowner told us. “This [kitchen] keeps our family close because we all love food. My kids sit in the kitchen all evening long every day – and I’m right there cooking. That’s life –to be together.”
We also collaborated with the homeowners to remodel their primary bathroom, primary bedroom closet and an additional bathroom.

Client needed a new wall built, base molding installation completed, all home stairs painted white, new door rails installed, bathroom mirrors installed, specific area spot painting, among other items completed before placing home out on the market.

Our clients were ready to update their kitchen with soft and subtle colors to blend in with the home’s recently updated interior. It was also time to improve the layout. The kitchen needed to be reconfigured in order to facilitate a three-generation family and occasional entertaining.
Design Objectives
-Brighten up to blend with the home’s interior and flow into the adjacent family room area
-Incorporate specific storage for pantry items like bulk ingredients and small appliances
-Designate areas for a coffee bar, multiple prep areas and seating while highlighting a dry bar for display
-Keep clutter off of counters for a seamless design that facilitates visual flow through the entire area
Design Challenges
-Make a subtle statement with contrasting cabinets and countertops
-Incorporate a stand-alone, statement-making dry bar just outside the main kitchen space
-Design a statement hood that serves as a focal point without interrupting visual flow
-Update and add lighting to add more task, accent and overhead brightness.
-Have the space be usable for different tasks by different family members at the same time
-Create a space that looks classy and formal but is still inviting.
Design Solutions
-A soft grey stain and white paint were used on all the cabinets. On only the wall cabinets flanking the window was the grey introduced on the frame to make a pop against the white paint.
-The white-painted refrigerator and freezer door panel style is a custom reeded look that adds a soft contrasting detail against the main door style. Along with the open grey-stained interior cabinet above, it looks like a piece of furniture.
-The same soft tones were used for the countertops and a full, high backsplash of Chamonix quartzite that tied everything together. It’s an elegant backdrop for the hood.
-The Dry Bar, even though showcasing a dark stained cabinet, stays open and bright with a full mirror backsplash, wood retained glass floating shelves and glass wall cabinet doors. Brushed brass trim details and a fun light fixture add a pop of character.
-The same reeded door style as the refrigerator was used on the base doors of the dry bar to tie in with the kitchen.
-About 2/3 of the existing walk-in pantry was carved out for the new dry bar footprint while still keeping a shallow-depth pantry space for storage.
-The homeowners wanted a beautiful hood but didn’t want it to dominate the design. We kept the lines of the hood simple. The soft stainless steel body has a bottom accent that incorporates both the grey stain and white-painted cabinet colors.
-Even though the Kitchen had a lot of natural light from the large window, it was important to have task and subtle feature lighting. Recessed cans provide overall lighting while clear pendants shine down on the 2nd level of the seating area on the island.
-The circular clear chandelier is the statement piece over the main island while the pendants flanking the hood emphasize the quartzite backsplash and add as accent lighting in the evening along with the interior cabinet lights.
With three generations living in the home it was important to have areas that multiple family members could use at the same time without being in each other’s way. The design incorporates different zones like the coffee bar, charging station, dry bar and refrigerator drawers.
The softness of the colors and classic feel of the wood floor keep kitchen is inviting and calming.

This piece is one of our industrial horizontal filing cabinets that would look great in any industrial office or home office setting. It has been beautifully handcrafted of solid steel that has been finished in a vintage style patina. We can make this lateral filing cabinet in any size and configuration, but the one listed here has been constructed with four large pullout file drawers of equal size, with inner mesh doors, and in the dimensions of 72” W x 20” D x 30” high. It could be made with more drawers or less, depending on your needs. Locks could also be installed to secure your confidential documents or whatever belongings may be inside. The top is made with durable solid steel but for a more rustic industrial look, could be outfitted with any of the reclaimed woods you see on any of our other pieces. We even have a few on hand that have historical significance, but these add significantly to the price and have very limited availability. We can also make it in any of the steel finishes you see on any of our other items.
The center compartment has been built with two mesh doors, but could be made solid steel or reclaimed wood to complement the vintage look. Behind the doors is one removable shelf inside the cabinet. This area can be used to store more files or office supplies. The shelf could also be constructed to adjustable (for an additional price – please inquire). The impressive modern industrial style has been enhanced by the use of decorative rivets. We can always add more or less or none at all. The filing cabinet sits on legs adorned with industrial style brackets, but could be replaced with casters for a mobile file cabinet.
These also make great industrial dressers. When used for such, they can be made with dovetailed wooden drawer boxes.
Please inquire for information and pricing on any changes you would like.
