when we started this project all shannon knew was that she wanted to use her existing Stickley-mission dining room room set and asked if i could work in the dresser as well. I said I thought why not! We changed out the old chandelier and added this stunner by Robert Abbey "bling chandelier" We also added custom swags and cascades a more traditional and stately treatment to stand up to the chandelier in an ivory and gold shadow stripe. The room was freshly painted after knocking out the cut out to the kitchen that the previous owner added. To add warmth and texture we added the round area rug and i decorated the dresser as a side board with the large round Greek keyed mirror and ivory table lamps along with some Chinese blue and white porcelain. Next up was wall art and Voila'. The finishing touch this white pottery urn i found at homegoods and filled with amaryllis and greens for the holidays

This great-room incorporates the living, dining , kitchen as well as access to the back patio. It is the perfect place for entertaining and relaxing. We restored the floors to their original warm tone and used lots of warm neutrals to answer our client’s desire for a more masculine feeling home. A Chinese cabinet and custom-built bookcase help to define an entry hall where one does not exist. We completely remodeled the kitchen and it is now very open and inviting. A Caesarstone counter with an overhang for eating or entertaining allows for three comfortable bar stools for visiting while cooking. Stainless steal appliances and a white apron sink are the only features that still remain. A large contemporary art piece over the new dining banquette brings in a splash of color and rounds out the space. Lots of earth-toned fabrics are part of this overall scheme. The kitchen, dining and living rooms have light cabinetry and walls with accent color in the tile and fireplace stone. The home has lots of added storage for books, art and accessories. In the living room, comfortable upholstered pieces with casual fabrics were created and sit atop a sisal rug, giving the room true California style. For contrast, a dark metal drapery rod above soft white drapery panels covers the new French doors. The doors lead out to the back patio. Photography by Erika Bierman

How would you like to entertain your guest in this living room? The ceiling is a pattern of octagons and rectangles that have been details with trim. The fireplace surround was custom designed to incorporate the existing marble surround. All the trim and millwork was completely custom designed for this home and installed painstakingly by hand. Custom drapery and sheer were design in a shade of silk slightly darker than the wall color and a Greek Key tape trim in brown and cream was added to the leading edge. The fireplace is the focal point of the design because of its large scale. We highlighted it with a a gold gilt mirror and crystal sconces flanking either side. An antique Persian carpet was hand-selected to bring color and to create a frame for the furnishings. We places a sofa table and lamps on the back side of the sofa in blue and white Chinese porcelain with hand-made linen shades. Antique blanc de chine lamps were found at a local dealer and custom shades were made to match the other shades in the room. I chose modern black and white art to create a dramatic effect and to tie the black marble fireplace in with the room. I added a desk to the back side of the other sofa to allow for our client to have additional workspace in his home and to be social with friends and family when they were casually enjoying their home. The entryway sets the tone. Check out the ceiling! Eclectic accessories abound with textiles and artwork from all over the world. These world travelers love returning to this nature inspired woodland home with a forest and creek out back. We added the bejeweled deer antlers, rock collections, chandeliers and a cool cowhide rug to their mix of antique and modern furniture. Stone and log inspired wallpaper finish the Log Cabin Chic look. What do you call this look? I call it HOME!
