Bills sister in law originally called me to enquire about helping Bill move out of his large house of 40 plus years and downsize to an assisted retirement facility. Bill had Parkinson's and was now alone. Everything needed to be weighted or fastened down and no accessible glass or sharp edges could be used. Parkinson's, especially when it progresses causes one to grab onto thing to help steady oneself. Obviously minimall Decor and as we get older, lots of light and large print, as in the wall clock become necessities. Working with Bill was a lot of fun actually, I learned he loved modern clean lines, bold pattern, and boats, the ocean and skiing. It was a complete clean slate to start from. Amber works from home and was sacrificing a dining room for her home office. By utilizing the double wide closet space in her guest bedroom, she now walks into her home without the reminder of work, and can have guests over for a meal in her dining room (dining room reveal coming soon). The walls were freshly painted Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams. This gives the room a fresh, clean look and also adds contrast to the beige carpet. Amber had her homework assignments cut out for her as she had to do some major purging in her throw all guest room. Once she started letting go, she was on a roll and continually surprised me as she cleaned out closets throughout the house. One dresser was filled with cds, dvds, books, albums, scrap-booking materials; items taking up precious real estate in her life that she didn't even know were there. There really wasn't a storage problem after-all, she was just holding on to a collection of things that no longer served her. Each time I would visit, and her space would become more open, I could see the weight lifting off her and her self love building. Amber had a recent breakup with her boyfriend and this makeover helped her not only focus on making a home sanctuary for herself, but helped her let go of the pains of the past and focus on the exciting future ahead. At one point when we were moving sofas in the living room (which we will also reveal soon), we found an ex's flip-flop. We were figuratively and literally sweeping away the past. Editing your home and your life makes room for your future; for new people and things. We are so happy to finally reveal the room to you! We can't wait to unveil the rest of Amber's home, once we complete the finishing touches. Challenges: Amber's home was filled with mix-matched furniture from family and college. She had no idea what her decorating style was. After shopping together and exchanging somepinterest boards, I was finally able to get a sense of what she loves. I had to work on a tight budget, which meant really digging out the creativity and utilizing other items in the home. We wanted to save the closet doors in the event she sold her home or no longer needed an office someday. There wasn't any extra space to store these closet doors, so I used them as a headboard. The only items purchased were: Curtains, Curtain Rod, Bedspread Set, Throw Pillows, 2 Lamps and Paint.

Cool, Contemporary, Curb appeal now feels like home!!! This complete exterior home renovation & curb appeal now makes sense with the interior remodel our client had installed prior to us gettting started!!! The modification addition of 5 stucco columns creates the feeling of a much larger space than what was there prior...who know that these cosmectic columns would actually feel like arms that wrap around the new curb appeal...almost like a vibe of protection. The contrasting paint colors add more movement and depth continuing the feeling of this great space! The new smooth limestone courtyard and custom iron "x" designed fence & gates create a weight type feeling that not only adds privacy, it just feels & looks solid. Its as if its a silent barrier between the homeowners inside and the rest of the world. Our clients now feel comfortable in there new found outdoor living spaces behind the courtyard walls. A place for family, friends and neighbors can easliy conversate & relax. The limestone serves as a grade wall for leveling, as well as the walls are completely permeable for long life and function. Something every parapet home should have, we've added custom down spouts tied to an under ground drainage system. Another way we add longevity to each project. Lastly...lighting is the icing on the cake. Wall lights, path light, down lights, up lights & step lights are all to important along with every light location is considerd as to add a breath taking ambiance of envy. No airplane runway or helicopter landing lights here. We cant wait for summer as the landscape is sure to fill up with color in every corner of this beautiful new outdoor space.

This projects existing kitchen had a large structural wall between it and bright morning room. We started by removing the wall and installing a 23’ steel beam with steel posts to the basement to support the structure and open the whole space. The beam was quite an undertaking considering the size and 2800 pound weight. We brought the beam thru the side of the house with a crane from the driveway ( Wow ! ). Now that we had a new open foot print we designed and installed a great new kitchen with a large central island. The Fieldstone cabinetry used for the perimeter cabinetry is the Delhi door style ( Inset ) in a Marshmallow Cream painted finish. The island cabinets were designed in contrasting Slate stain on maple. The new large island has ample seating for all the friends and family and becomes a great center piece of the new open kitchen. The Colonial White granite countertops tie the perimeter and island cabinetry together perfectly. Refinished hardwood floors and a simple subway tile backsplash cap off the new look.
