Sunspace Design is a company that prides itself on being able to meet the specific needs of a client. We offer a number of custom glass products, and in this case we had the distinct pleasure of modifying a gorgeous Maine barn. The clients lived in a rural section of the state, and the property featured a beautiful turn of the century home and barn. Avid gardeners, the clients wished to incorporate a new year-round greenhouse into the barn’s existing façade. To achieve this, we worked with the owners to carefully establish the desired look of the barn. The end result is a seamless transition between the façade and the glass structure we provided. Utilizing an aluminum frame system, Sunspace was able to provide a gable with glass valleys at a slope so as to blend with the existing slope of the barn’s roof. Adding automated power-operated roof vents, interior fans, and insulated glass completed the system.

This beautiful custom wine cellar / wine wall / wine room in San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, California is truly a jaw dropper. Vintage Cellars, wine cellar builders out of san diego, california, were able to design and build this masterpiece as a major centerpoint of this dining room and kitchen. A custom wine cellar designed and built by vintage wine cellars out of San Diego, California - this custom wine wall has tons of unique and noteworthy features throughout. The bottom of the cellar begins with multiple areas for wine case storage and other bulk storage options. The great thing about this space is that it was designed for multi-use capability, leaving ample room to store multiple layers deep of single bottle storage as well. Directly above the case storage lie multiple layers of easy pull out shelving on smooth rolling tracks, seamlessly allowing for drawer sliding with no risk of bottle movement or abrupt stops. These are fantastic features to have, especially in the case of having flights of wines from your favorite wineries. A collection of 2010 through 2016 Larkmeade Cabernet Sauvignon bottles from Napa have never looked so good. In the center, a small countertop and opening are used for a practical space to open and decant wines. Glass shelving features and acrylic wine racking dividers make for a fun, transparent, and sleek looking centerpiece. On either side of this wine wall feature / kitchen wine cellar are long rows of high reveal display of wine bottles, carefully designed and engineered to lay down properly so that the cork will stay wet and wines are aged perfectly and gracefully over time. These display rows act as fantastic "show off" sections - perfectly highlighting each bottle's respective label and giving you the ability to really display your gems. More sections sit above these displays, turning the bottles inward and facing them cork out. In this certain circumstance and with this specific client's collection, these sections really popped with color and intrigue with many cases of the same wines being placed into the racking. Intense hues of Red and Yellow POP, keeping this wine cellar interesting and a pleasure to look at no matter what section you're exploring. Horizontal stainless steel metal rods are Integrated into the custom cabinetry horizontally and angled across each multiple sections, again offering another unique and different design feature, now with wine bottle labels facing outward and completely visible. This is one of our latest designs: a leather media console! It would also serve perfectly as a rustic credenza, sideboard or buffet and would look amazing in any eclectic interior or rustic cabin setting. This rustic media console is handmade with rawhide by us here in our shop located in Texas. It can be made in any size or configuration, but the one in this listing is for one that is 18” deep and 27” high (see listing options for common widths. One shown is 72” wide). Please email for pricing on any custom sizes. As you can see, it has four doors that are leather (authentic leather), but we can make it with any number of doors. Or, we can make it with mesh doors (like you see on many of our other media consoles) so remote control infrared signals can pass through. The top, sides, and doors are also real leather but can be made with reclaimed wood. Or, for a more industrial look, we can add decorative rivets as you see on many of our other items. There is one inner shelf that spans the entire width of the unit. There are no inner partitions, so wide AV components can easily fit inside. There is a back with a 2” gap at the bottom for cables to exit. We can make the legs any height you’d like. So, if you want a more “chunky” looking unit, we can make it with shorter legs. Or, prefer a visually “lighter” looking unit? We can make it with taller legs. We can also all solid steel wheels to give it a bar cart height. Another popular configuration for this particular piece is to make it with a brown frame as opposed to the black one shown. Just a stone’s throw away from the ocean, the house was designed and built by Willard Kent, a prominent Rhode Island architect, as his personal home in 1898. It is a large Shingle-Style home with a massive cross-gambrel roof giving it its name – the Four Gables. The “Gables” was largely conceived and built in the early Arts and Crafts style. This included well-considered, functional built-in seating and cabinetry in Douglas Fir. Over the years, the Gables has changed hands quite a few times and recently was used as both a bed and breakfast and as a vacation rental prior to being purchased by Dave and Elizabeth Adams in 2016. The Adamses attended URI years ago prior to starting their family and careers. Now grandparents and soon-to-be retirees, they looked back to coastal Rhode Island for a family home with a history of its own. They were not specifically looking for the responsibilities that they inherited with the Four Gables, but they took them on with a passion and enthusiasm that has made our work, and the relationship we have with them, a high point for everyone at Picus. The sun, wind and time had their way, and the exterior of the house was tired. Picus Woodwrights restored the exterior details to what we feel is a close rendering of the original siding, millwork and windows. Much of our work was restorative. When we could reuse original materials, we did and when we could not, they were reproduced. We re-sided the house with Red Cedar shingles. The house has a curved bay and areas where the side walls flare out. To maintain those details, we steam-bent the shingles on site. Most of the exterior trim was either restored or reproduced. The interior presented several challenges. It had been chopped up a bit over the years and needed a new kitchen, updated plumbing and electrical wiring. We also added a dumbwaiter to move food between a basement freezer and the kitchen. While our primary focus was on returning the house to its original state, we did make a few creative changes. We designed a custom stained-glass window to an exterior door. We also renovated a later “fishing shed” that was transported from Galilee, a nearby fishing village.

Xtreme Renovations has completed a Major Renovation Project near the Tomball area of Harris County. This project required demolition of the existing Kitchen Cabinetry and removing fur downs, rerouting HVAC Registers, Electrical and installation of Natural Gas lines for converting from an All Electric Kitchen to Natural Gas cooktop with an Xtreme Exhaust System above the new gas cooktop. Existing walls wear moved during the demolition process to expand the original footprint of the Kitchen to include additional cabinetry and relocation of the new Double Oven as well as an open Pantry area. All new Custom Built Cabinetry were installed made from Maple wood and stained to the specification of our clients. New Quartz countertops were fabricated and installed throughout the Kitchen as well as a Bar Area in the Great Room which also included Custom Built Cabinetry. New tile flooring was installed throughout the Mud Room, Kitchen, Breakfast Area, Hall Way adjoining the Formal Dining Room and Powder Bath. Back splash included both Ceramic and Glass Tile to and a touch of class and the Wow Factor our clients desired and deserved. Major drywall work was required throughout the Kitchen, Great Room, Powder Bath and Breakfast Area. Many added features such as LED lighting on dimmers were installed throughout the Kitchen including under cabinet lighting. Installation of all new appliances was included in the Kitchen as well as the Bar Area in the Great Room. Custom Built Corner Cabinetry was also installed in the Formal Dining Room. Custom Built Crown Molding was also part of this project in the Great Room designed to match Crown Molding above doorways. Existing paneling was removed and replaced with drywall to add to this Major Update of the 1970’s constructed home. Floating, texturing and painting throughout both levels of this 2 Story Home was also completed. The existing stairway in the Great Room was removed and new Wrought Iron Spindles, Handrails, Hardwood Flooring were installed. New Carpeting and Hardwood Flooring were included in the Renovation Project. State of the Art CAT 6 cabling was installed in the entire home adding to the functionality of the New Home Entertainment and Computer Networking System as well as connectivity throughout the home. The Central hub area for the new cabling is climate controlled and vented for precise temperature control. Many other items were addressed during this Renovation Project including upgrading the Main Electrical Service, Custom Built Cabinetry throughout the Mud Room and creating a closet where the existing Double Oven was located with access to new shelving and coat racks in the Mud Room Area. This piece is our handmade solid walnut topped farmhouse table. It also has walnut legs with amazing industrial supports and accents. This table is customizable and can fit any vintage, rustic or minimalist décor in modern or urban settings. It could also make a gorgeous display table in a retail outlet. A smaller version could act as a lovely kitchen island in your home or loft. If you would like yours to have a more industrial look; more bolts could be added as well as rivets. This particular table can be made smaller to be used as a desk or work station in a home office or larger as a conference table with holes added in the top to allow AV cables and components to exit. This particular unit is 72” W X 35” D X 30”H, the table top is approximately 2” H, and the legs are 4” W x 4” D, but can be made in any dimensions to suit your style and décor . The wood on this piece is walnut but can be done in any species you prefer such as oak or even reclaimed wood.
