Holly Hill, a retirement home, whose owner's hobbies are gardening and restoration of classic cars, is nestled into the site contours to maximize views of the lake and minimize impact on the site.
Holly Hill is comprised of three wings joined by bridges: A wing facing a master garden to the east, another wing with workshop and a central activity, living, dining wing. Similar to a radiator the design increases the amount of exterior wall maximizing opportunities for natural ventilation during temperate months.
Other passive solar design features will include extensive eaves, sheltering porches and high-albedo roofs, as strategies for considerably reducing solar heat gain.
Daylighting with clerestories and solar tubes reduce daytime lighting requirements. Ground source geothermal heat pumps and superior to code insulation ensure minimal space conditioning costs. Corten steel siding and concrete foundation walls satisfy client requirements for low maintenance and durability. All light fixtures are LEDs.
Open and screened porches are strategically located to allow pleasant outdoor use at any time of day, particular season or, if necessary, insect challenge. Dramatic cantilevers allow the porches to project into the site’s beautiful mixed hardwood tree canopy without damaging root systems.
Guest arrive by vehicle with glimpses of the house and grounds through penetrations in the concrete wall enclosing the garden. One parked they are led through a garden composed of pavers, a fountain, benches, sculpture and plants. Views of the lake can be seen through and below the bridges.
Primary client goals were a sustainable low-maintenance house, primarily single floor living, orientation to views, natural light to interiors, maximization of individual privacy, creation of a formal outdoor space for gardening, incorporation of a full workshop for cars, generous indoor and outdoor social space for guests and parties.

Our clients had grown weary of the dated finishes in their single family home. They wanted a kitchen and adjoining family room where they could prepare meals and enjoy family time in style and comfort. A series of strategic, but relatively simple changes enabled us to transform their space into a gorgeous space they now love to show off to family and friends.

The texture and warmth of the original brick is strategically exposed and tied in with the clean, modern materials of the kitchen.

After purchasing their ideal ranch style home built in the ‘70s, our clients had requested some major updates and needs throughout the house. The couple loved to cook and desired a large kitchen with professional appliances and a space that connects with the family room for ultimate entertaining. The husband wanted a retreat of his own with office space and a separate bathroom. Both clients disliked the ‘70s aesthetic of their outdated master suite and agreed that too would need a complete update.
The JRP Team focused on the strategic removal of several walls between the entrance, living room, and kitchen to establish a new balance by creating an open floor plan that embraces the natural flow of the home. The luxurious kitchen turned out to be the highlight of the home with beautifully curated materials and double islands. The expanded master bedroom creates space for a relocated and enlarged master bath with walk-in closet. Adding new four panel doors to the backyard of the master suite anchors the room, filling the space with natural light. A large addition was necessary to accommodate the "Man Cave" which provides an exclusive retreat complete with wet bar– perfect for entertaining or relaxing. The remodel took a dated, choppy and disconnected floor plan to a bespoke haven sparkling with natural light and gorgeous finishes.

The client's attention to detail and commitment to achieving a cohesive look in her kitchen extended to the choice of appliances. She opted for white appliances that seamlessly matched the color of her pristine cabinets, creating a harmonious, monochromatic aesthetic. The white appliances blended flawlessly with the overall design, adding to the traditional and warm ambiance she desired. The remaining stainless steel appliances were strategically placed together in one designated area of the kitchen. This careful arrangement ensured that the stainless steel elements hardly stood out as eyesores but rather became a complementary part of the overall kitchen design.

This kitchen had a unique goal, the clients wanted to recreate a dream kitchen from a house they had sold. Careful planning, strategic finish out and customized options gave way to a beautiful kitchen that the clients love which both blends to the current home and matches to the style and class of their prior kitchen! Inspired by the Louisiana architecture of A. Hays Town, this project replicates a Louisiana courtyard in the midst of this creekside estate. A pool is the centerpiece of the design, and is anchored by an antique brick clad spa. The spa, strategically placed on the home's main axis, was specifically purposed to replicate a courtyard fountain.
The vegetation includes a mixture of trimmed boxwood hedges, ferns, and azaleas, as well as a variety of other broad leafed plants. The potted plants add seasonal interest and year-round decor.
This project also features the best in outdoor living. A copper screened cabana house includes an outdoor kitchen, fireplace, and temperature controls for year round comfort. There is an outdoor firepit and seating area, sheltered by a vine covered trellis.

Treat yourself to a luxurious bath in the Boyce Acrylic Tub. A deep floor and smooth, high walls work together to provide a tranquil and soothing soak. To enhance the pampering experience, add the air tub option, which features strategically placed jets that massage your body. An ideal choice for a beautiful master bathroom, the Boyce delivers the ultimate relaxing retreat.

An open concept custom kitchen lives large but the strategic placement of appliances creates a convenient and compact work zone. This distinctly divided yet beautifully merged Glen Ellyn, IL kitchen takes the classic white to another level. The clean lines of the flat panel white cabinetry and polished design are easy on the eyes, complemented by the earth tones found in the subway tile, pendant lighting over the island, and soft seating. This large family can enjoy multiple seating areas, around the island, and at a dedicated space showcasing their impressive farm table. More then ample accessible storage provides enough places to hide any pots, pans and small appliances, while not sacrificing the views and natural light. The midpoint integrated built in Thermador Refrigerator serves as the anchor of the kitchen. Prep areas include miles of quartz counters along with a small but practically placed island sink. The warmth and comfort in this dream kitchen highlights design trends while also fulfilling the client’s request for a kitchen with a family focus.

The Completa Series (CS) is a collection of natural stone mesh mount designs offered in six color collections, each with 12 or more mesh mount variations. Each variation is artistically crafted, with exclusive materials strategically arranged to display the material in unique and breathtaking designs.
