A stunning open tread staircase draws the eyes up to the family room's high ceilings, creating an elevated look. The home has a marble fireplace as another main focal point; a modern kitchen with flat-panel cabinets, built-in appliances and waterfall marble island; a luxurious main floor master bedroom and ensuite with walkout access to the back patio and pool area; two second-floor bedrooms each with ensuites, and in the basement there is a bar, media room and exercise room. The design embraces the conventions of a traditional family home, while also touting a timeless appeal through a unique blend of exterior exposed steel columns, stone cladding, a mix of Maibec wood siding with Extira pre-painted and cedar soffits, and more contemporary windows. Expansive windows are strategically placed at the front and rear of the home, to let in natural light but kept minimal at the sides for privacy. The build also includes a garage on the right rear side of the home with a pool change house that matches the home in finishes and quality. The home was also built with an insulated concrete foundation in order to perform a higher r-value. Since the reveal, this home has been captured and photographed frequently by those who pass by.

Inspiration for a rustic dark wood floor, brown floor, exposed beam and shiplap ceiling family room remodel with white walls

What began as a kitchen remodel became a full first-floor transformation. Our clients’ clarity of vision and implicit trust in the RHD team set the stage for an impactful, holistic design. The new design honors the home’s architecture while giving it a sophisticated, soulful, and refreshingly grounded appeal. A thoughtful curation of materials reflects and elevates our clients’ distinctive style. These included a creamy honed quartzite, natural wood cabinetry, and reclaimed wood beams on the ceiling and fireplace mantle as well as sculptural lighting and new original art work that complemented our clients existing collection.
With just a few strategic layout changes and a fresh, intuitive design direction, this home now flows effortlessly and feels entirely new.

Behind the scenes of this Cherry Hills Village remodel, our team worked meticulously to highlight the natural beauty of Crystallo Quartzite while balancing warmth and contemporary minimalism.
The kitchen became the heart of the project, with a bookmatched Crystallo Quartzite waterfall island that required precision templating and seamless mitered edges to create a floating stone appearance. We paired it with soft oak cabinetry and integrated appliances to keep the space feeling open and clean, letting the quartzite’s subtle veining take center stage.
In the living room, the double-height ceilings and expansive windows brought in Colorado’s natural light, while the sleek black fireplace and designer lighting created a sophisticated focal point. We carefully coordinated stone details with the design team to ensure flow and cohesion throughout.
The bathroom’s backlit onyx steam shower was a technical feat, requiring custom support and LED installation to achieve an even glow that transforms the space into a spa retreat. Every tile cut and seam placement was strategized to align the onyx’s natural patterns, making the steam shower both functional and a piece of art.
Throughout this project, we prioritized craftsmanship, precision, and clear communication with the homeowners, designers, and trades. From slab selection to the final polish, each detail was approached with intention to bring this refined, organic modern home to life.

Working in a smaller kitchen, we needed to use every inch of the space to maximize functionality while creating an open, lighter feel. It was an exciting challenge to get creative with storage solutions and make sure that every corner had a purpose!

Our client sought to modernize their classic 1970s home while preserving its original charm. This full-home renovation prioritized openness and functionality. We transformed the kitchen into a bright, welcoming space, leveled the sunken living room to expand the living area, and designed seamless indoor-outdoor connections to showcase breathtaking south-west facing golf course & ocean views. The result? A beautifully updated home that harmonizes mid-century character with contemporary comfort.
The architecture was fun to work with, featuring dramatic roof pitches, a striking two-story double-sided fireplace, and thoughtfully designed room-to-room connections. Strategic wall cutouts and varying floor levels added interest and character, making this home a truly unique and dynamic space.
The kitchen connects to the exterior, dining room, and living room, and features a peninsula and a cozy morning nook for gathering. Thoughtful flow was essential for this busy space, creating distinct yet harmonious spaces to enjoy throughout the home.
Texture was thoughtfully incorporated using natural materials, including quartzite with cloud-like movement, woven light fixtures, and high-variation ceramic tile. The oak flooring, rich with knots and striking grain patterns, adds warmth and character to the space.

Serene Kitchen is a refined kitchen retreat designed to feel airy, calm, and thoughtfully detailed. In this project, Wraith Interior Design transforms what may have been a typical cooking space into a soothing, luminous sanctuary—where functionality and aesthetic harmony live side by side.
The design emphasizes lightness and clarity: soft neutral tones, clean lines, and natural textures bring balance and softness to the space. A careful selection of materials—light woods, subtle stone surfaces, and delicate metallic accents—creates visual interest without overpowering the calm atmosphere. Ample daylight and strategic lighting design further reinforce the sense of openness and serenity.
Functionally, the kitchen is laid out with practicality in mind: efficient work zones, generous counter space, and thoughtful storage solutions keep daily use effortless and uncluttered. Meanwhile, gentle touches—like fluted cabinetry detail, understated hardware, and warm wood elements—add character and softness to the overall composition.
Serene Kitchen is both grounded and elegant: a space you can cook in, live in, and feel at peace in.

When the Owners approached Goggans Architecture about renovation of a 90’s era oceanfront house, it was clear there would be a lot more to the renovation than mere updates and remedying deferred maintenance. One of the most significant issues was how to integrate an outdoor pool given the pool had to be within the building envelope, and the house was already abutting the setback on its ocean side. A second significant challenge was how to provide a roof top deck over a pitched roof house with an attic, that was functional and attractive. Finally, creating better access from the parking area to the kitchen was a priority.
Goggans Architecture addressed the placement of a pool by creating a walled courtyard at the front, or landward side, of the house. The pool was placed on one side of the entry walkway, while its composition was balanced by a parterre garden on the other side of the walkway. The roof top deck was resolved by adding a new staircase and passageway through former attic space. By using a motorized roof hatch, the Owners could ascend to the roof deck which perched just below the roof ridge, hidden from view from the street. Relocating an underneath stair from one side of the house to a point that was closer to the kitchen resolved the access issue.
These strategic moves created other opportunities, such as expansion of the master bathroom to a portion of the front porch, while allowing an exterior stair from the bath directly to the pool. Other enhancements included placement of a large folding door in the Great room, renovation and expansion of the kitchen and exterior decks, reorganization, and replacement of the fenestration, updating all baths and interior and exterior finishes.
The extensive renovation reflects the holistic approach of Goggans Architecture, marrying landscape architecture, architecture, and interiors.

Carefully adding layers and textures to a space makes for great conversation. This over-sized metal floor mirror, framed behind a simple, yet sophisticated concrete console, add to the other industrial elements throughout the loft. The smoked-brown studded leather chairs were strategically added to soften the room and make for an unforgettable dining experience.

This modern farmhouse is a complete custom renovation to transform an existing rural Duncan house into a home that was suitable for our clients’ growing family and lifestyle. The original farmhouse was too small and dark. The layout for this house was also ineffective for a family with parents who work from home.
The new design was carefully done to meet the clients’ needs. As a result, the layout of the home was completely flipped. The kitchen was switched to the opposite corner of the house from its original location. In addition, Made to Last constructed multiple additions to increase the size.
An important feature to the design was to capture the surrounding views of the Cowichan Valley countryside with strategically placed windows.
