Part of a great room, this kitchen was set center of the room. The cobalt island is reminiscent of the lake right outside the doors. The Hickory Chair bar stools were custom made with a blue and white seat back fabric and blue leather seat made to withstand a lot of use. Standout items carefully chosen were the bar stool stretcher finish (brass), reclaimed shelves in the corner and beveled marble subway tile to give it a modern farmhouse look.

The Pan-Asian motif consistent throughout the group takes on a different form when created using hammered metal. The stretcher base supports a four drawer top. The top two drawers are felt lined and divided for silver, while the bottom two drawers are felt lined. The piece has a finished back.

This white oak dining table looked so incredible in this space. We feel honored to have been chosen to build pieces for this amazing space. The dining table has two pedestals that are solid white oak boxes with waterfall mitered edges. The two boxes are connected by two stretchers to support the gap. As with all of our tables, we recessed steel c channel underneath the table top to ensure that the tabletop remains flat over time. Unfortunately, we didn't end up receiving any photographs of the base so we have attached a few of our CAD drawings of the piece so that you can visualize what we described above. The drawings don't do them justice but you will get the idea. This white oak custom dining table was handmade in San Diego, CA.

We named this design the 'Insignia' as to reference the building in Seattle where the original table (and bench set) now reside. The concept for the 'Insignia' table was motivated by minimalist-modern design and inspiration that arose from an admiration for Nakashima-style trestle bases. With our traditional 'Mez Works' style, we used dimensional walnut with a steel stretcher through the center of the tabletop to trace our 'Zeeva' and ‘Martis’ series tables, and the steel is treated with a ‘black-magic patina’ and clear powder-coat finish for an industrial element. The leaf mechanisms are drop leaf supports that are solidly built, structurally stable and sturdy to eliminate sagging. They lock in place automatically when raised, and are simple and quick to release. This design is very versatile, and as shown in the photos the table can be purposed as use for a desk. While folded down, the drop leaf hides a charging outlet that is secured to the base directly under the tabletop, while power is integrated by feeding the cord through the base all the way out through the bottom to a fixed outlet in the floor. The 'Martis' table reflects aspects of some of our earlier works, combining features from our original 'Streetsense' style table with our 'Zeeva' solid steel frame. The result is a dimensional walnut table with simple trapezoid legs and exposed steel stretcher that runs the length of the table, easily able to be disassembled and broken down for moving/transport or storage. Clear-walnut was chosen for the tabletop to add warmth to the gray and blue tones in the home, while a ‘black magic patina’ + clear powder-coated steel frame adds an industrial element.
