This stunning master suite is part of a whole house design and renovation project by Haven Design and Construction. The master bedroom features luxurious custom bedding and drapery and a modern wallpaper accent wall behind the bed that echoes the mosaic tile design in the master bathroom. A gold and glass chandelier, transitional wood furniture, and a 72" tall upholstered bed add a sense of luxury to the space. It's truly a master suite worthy of retiring to after a long day.

Horizontal board & batten facades are sheltered by long runs of hipped roofs and are divided down the middle by the homes singular gabled wall. At the foyer, this gable takes the form of a classic three-part archway. Going through the archway and into the interior, reveals a stunning see-through fireplace surround with raised natural stone hearth and rustic mantel beams. Subtle earth-toned wall colors, white trim, and natural wood floors serve as a perfect canvas to showcase patterned upholstery, black hardware, and colorful paintings. The kitchen and dining room occupies the space to the left of the foyer and living room and is connected to two garages through a more secluded mudroom and half bath. Off to the rear and adjacent to the kitchen is a screened porch that features a stone fireplace and stunning sunset views. Occupying the space to the right of the living room and foyer is an understated master suite and spacious study featuring custom cabinets with diagonal bracing. The master bedroom’s en suite has a herringbone patterned marble floor, crisp white custom vanities, and access to a his and hers dressing area. The four upstairs bedrooms are divided into pairs on either side of the living room balcony. Downstairs, the terraced landscaping exposes the family room and refreshment area to stunning views of the rear yard. The two remaining bedrooms in the lower level each have access to an en suite bathroom.

This baby boomer couple recently settled in the Haymarket area. Their bathroom was located behind the garage from which we took a few inches to contribute to the bathroom space, offering them a large walk in shower, with Digital controls designed for multiple shower heads . With a new waterfall free standing tub/ faucet slipper tub taking the space of the old large decked tub. We used a Victoria & Albert modern free standing tub, which brought spa feel to the room. The old space from the closet was used to create enough space for the bench area. It has a modern look linear drain in wet room. Adding a decorative touch and more lighting, is a beautiful chandelier outside of the wet room. Behind the new commode area is a niche. New vanities, sleek, yet spacious, allowing for more storage. The large mirror and hidden medicine cabinets with decorative lighting added more of the contemporariness to the space. Around this bath, we used large space tile. With a Classic look of black and white tile that complement the mosaic tile used creatively, making this bathroom undeniably stunning. The smart use of mosaic tile on the back wall of the shower and tub area has put this project on the cover sheet of most design magazine. The privacy wall offers closure for the commode from the front entry. Classy yet simple is how they described their new master bath suite.

We often come across clients looking for small space ideas. Our first recommendation is always to go bright. The depth of our glaze color adds visual interest and a bold color choice helps make a space appear larger. Posh and polished (just like the homeowner) this stunning sapphire blue bathroom will have you in awe. The owner of this amazing lake house is our friend Rachel Shingleton of Pencil Shavings Studio. Her refined design-eye coupled with our bright and bold tile transformed this small bathroom into the perfect master bath. And could you believe it? This is a super simple project! Read on to learn more about this design and how to achieve the look yourself. Another great way to open up a small bathroom is by using smaller tile! Our regular Hexagons are the great example of this - approximately 2"x2" their small size maximizes the rest of the room, and their classic shape is perfect for a bathroom floor.

This La Jolla condo, located steps away from Wind n Sea beach was our client's third home we completed for them in San Diego. As vacation rental property owners, this Texas couple plans on making this their retirement escape in the years to come. In the meantime, the design had to be suitable for short time renters. Keeping our clients' needs in mind, the interior design was geared to appeal to the out of towners. With a focus on durability, clean, simple and modern coastal design, we're all pretty certain this little gem is going to stand out amongst its competition. The formula is pretty simple, but our job is to make it happen! :) Most of the furnishings were custom-made to fit the space perfectly, taking advantage of every inch and maximizing the space. Doubling up 2 full size beds in each of the guest rooms made this vacation rental property perfect for families and large groups. One of our biggest challenges? Finding pieces we loved that had no metal accents! ((The salt air takes its toll on those pieces faster than you'd ever guess when you're this close to the ocean!) 2013 NKBA MEDIUM BATH When this young couple purchased their nearly 25-year-old colonial, the master bathroom was the first thing they wanted to change. Drab looking with worn out cabinets and a shower that was too small, it didn’t fit their modern vision for the space. Working with Michael Nash Design, Build & Homes, they came up with a plan to enlarge the bathroom, stealing space from the master bedroom. The new design includes a much larger shower, the addition of a walk-in shower and more. And the results are nothing less than stunning. A new, frameless glass shower stall is equipped with a steam unit, body sprays, rain shower head, and thermostatic valve and control. A double-sided fireplace overlooks a large whirlpool tub (also visible from the master bedroom). Modern wall hanger espresso finish vanities are topped with a marble top and his and her tumbled marble vessel sinks. Two tall linen cabinets bookend the vanity for additional storage. A recessed mirror with back lighting effect was also installed. Large 20” × 20” white marble floor and walls with dark metallic tile were placed on featured walls for added effects. The floors in both the bathroom and closet are heated. An enlarged doorway from bathroom to walk-in closet offers double French glass doors which are pocketed for better traffic flow. Built-in closet systems are his and hers with matching cherry espresso finish cabinetry covered by obscure glass doors and a touch pad lighting system. The middle island features shoe racks and tie and socks storage. Clean, streamlined and functional, the homeowners love this award-winning space.

Our Seattle studio designed this stunning 5,000+ square foot Snohomish home to make it comfortable and fun for a wonderful family of six. On the main level, our clients wanted a mudroom. So we removed an unused hall closet and converted the large full bathroom into a powder room. This allowed for a nice landing space off the garage entrance. We also decided to close off the formal dining room and convert it into a hidden butler's pantry. In the beautiful kitchen, we created a bright, airy, lively vibe with beautiful tones of blue, white, and wood. Elegant backsplash tiles, stunning lighting, and sleek countertops complete the lively atmosphere in this kitchen. On the second level, we created stunning bedrooms for each member of the family. In the primary bedroom, we used neutral grasscloth wallpaper that adds texture, warmth, and a bit of sophistication to the space creating a relaxing retreat for the couple. We used rustic wood shiplap and deep navy tones to define the boys' rooms, while soft pinks, peaches, and purples were used to make a pretty, idyllic little girls' room. In the basement, we added a large entertainment area with a show-stopping wet bar, a large plush sectional, and beautifully painted built-ins. We also managed to squeeze in an additional bedroom and a full bathroom to create the perfect retreat for overnight guests. For the decor, we blended in some farmhouse elements to feel connected to the beautiful Snohomish landscape. We achieved this by using a muted earth-tone color palette, warm wood tones, and modern elements. The home is reminiscent of its spectacular views – tones of blue in the kitchen, primary bathroom, boys' rooms, and basement; eucalyptus green in the kids' flex space; and accents of browns and rust throughout.

lack window frames can be bold in light-colored rooms, but the addition of the black bed frame and chandelier tied everything together beautifully. The windows became a focal point in the room, so, simple white curtains were the perfect window treatment to blend into the walls during the day and provide privacy at night.
