This Queen Anne style five story townhouse in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn is one of a pair that were built in 1887 by Charles Erhart, a co-founder of the Pfizer pharmaceutical company. The brownstone façade was restored in an earlier renovation, which also included work to main living spaces. The scope for this new renovation phase was focused on restoring the stair hallways, gut renovating six bathrooms, a butler’s pantry, kitchenette, and work to the bedrooms and main kitchen. Work to the exterior of the house included replacing 18 windows with new energy efficient units, renovating a roof deck and restoring original windows. In keeping with the Victorian approach to interior architecture, each of the primary rooms in the house has its own style and personality. The Parlor is entirely white with detailed paneling and moldings throughout, the Drawing Room and Dining Room are lined with shellacked Oak paneling with leaded glass windows, and upstairs rooms are finished with unique colors or wallpapers to give each a distinct character. The concept for new insertions was therefore to be inspired by existing idiosyncrasies rather than apply uniform modernity. Two bathrooms within the master suite both have stone slab walls and floors, but one is in white Carrara while the other is dark grey Graffiti marble. The other bathrooms employ either grey glass, Carrara mosaic or hexagonal Slate tiles, contrasted with either blackened or brushed stainless steel fixtures. The main kitchen and kitchenette have Carrara countertops and simple white lacquer cabinetry to compliment the historic details.

Taking just over a year to complete from the first design phases to final photos, this project was so insanely fun and packs an amazing amount of fun details and lively surprises. The original kitchen was large and fairly functional. However, the cabinetry was dated, the lighting was inefficient and frankly ugly, and the space was lacking personality in general. Our client desired maximized storage and a more personalized aesthetic. The existing cabinets were short and left the nice height of the space under-utilized. We integrated new gray shaker cabinets from Waypoint Living Spaces and ran them to the ceiling to really exaggerate the height of the space and to maximize usable storage as much as possible. The upper cabinets are glass and lit from within, offering display space or functional storage as the client needs. The central feature of this space is the large cobalt blue range from Viking as well as the custom made reclaimed wood range hood floating above. The backsplash along this entire wall is vertical slab of marble look quartz from Pental Surfaces. This matches the expanse of the same countertop that wraps the room. Flanking the range, we installed cobalt blue lantern penny tile from Merola Tile for a playful texture that adds visual interest and class to the entire room. We upgraded the lighting in the ceiling, under the cabinets, and within cabinets--we also installed accent sconces over each window on the sink wall to create cozy and functional illumination. The deep, textured front Whitehaven apron sink is a dramatic nod to the farmhouse aesthetic from KOHLER, and it's paired with the bold and industrial inspired Tournant faucet, also from Kohler. Xtreme Renovations, LLC just completed Renovating Two Upstairs Bathrooms for our clients in the Wortham area of NW Harris County. The projected included removing all Floor and Tub Surround Tile and repair a leaking Tub Drain in one of the Bathrooms. New Shower Valves were installed with new Hardi Backer Board installation and water proofed to prevent further leaking issues for the early 1990’s constructed home. All water shutoff valves were replaced with quarter turn valves in both Bathroom Areas for sinks and toilets. New Porceain Floor and Tub Surround Tile with a Glass Tile decorative Border were installed to add the “Wow Factor” our clients desired and Xtreme Renovations, LLC is known for. Custom Built Vanity Cabinetry were installed in both Bathrooms as well as Custom Built Medicine Cabinets in a Shaker Style with European Soft Closing Drawer Glides and Doors. The Vanity Cabinetry was Painted to a clean white finish and door and drawer pulls installed. Walls and Ceilings in both bathrooms were also painted to complete the Project. New lighting fixtures were installed and all electrical Plates and Outlet were changed to Décor Style to add a Modern look to the amazing transformation. Client wanted this Villa to with a certain budget. Having that in mind, the design phase got re-modified 3 times in order to meet the client’s expectations/needs. The best choice that was achieved was Mexican due to: • Very good interior concepts • Very selective material • Not expensive material i.e ceramic floors, rough finishes on the walls. Another condition/ challenge was to create the master bedroom on the ground floor. The ground floor was designed with arches and terraces to give space for privacy and warmth. The value of the house lies in the actual design rather than the material itself.

The original ranch home was completely renovated and added to in three phases. First the roof lines were changed to include steeply pitched gables, shingles, and a tower. A garage was converted into a master suite and sun room and a dining room was added.

With family life and entertaining in mind, we built this 4,000 sq. ft., 4 bedroom, 3 full baths and 2 half baths house from the ground up! To fit in with the rest of the neighborhood, we constructed an English Tudor style home, but updated it with a modern, open floor plan on the first floor, bright bedrooms, and large windows throughout the home. What sets this home apart are the high-end architectural details that match the home’s Tudor exterior, such as the historically accurate windows encased in black frames. The stunning craftsman-style staircase is a post and rail system, with painted railings. The first floor was designed with entertaining in mind, as the kitchen, living, dining, and family rooms flow seamlessly. At our San Salvador project, we did a complete kitchen remodel, redesigned the fireplace in the living room and installed all new porcelain wood-looking tile throughout. Before the kitchen was outdated, very dark and closed in with a soffit lid and old wood cabinetry. The fireplace wall was original to the home and needed to be redesigned to match the new modern style. We continued the porcelain tile from an earlier phase to go into the newly remodeled areas. We completely removed the lid above the kitchen, creating a much more open and inviting space. Then we opened up the pantry wall that previously closed in the kitchen, allowing a new view and creating a modern bar area. The young family wanted to brighten up the space with modern selections, finishes and accessories. Our clients selected white textured laminate cabinetry for the kitchen with marble-looking quartz countertops and waterfall edges for the island with mid-century modern barstools. For the backsplash, our clients decided to do something more personalized by adding white marble porcelain tile, installed in a herringbone pattern. In the living room, for the new fireplace design we moved the TV above the firebox for better viewing and brought it all the way up to the ceiling. We added a neutral stone-looking porcelain tile and floating shelves on each side to complete the modern style of the home. Our clients did a great job furnishing and decorating their house, it almost felt like it was staged which we always appreciate and love.

The most unique statements in this room include the water-drop light over the vanity from Shades Of Light, the copper-look porcelain floor tile from Pental Surfaces and the gorgeous Cashmere colored Tresham toilet from Kohler. Up in the master bathroom, elegance abounds. Using the same footprint, we upgraded everything in this space to reflect the client's desire for a more bright, patterned and pretty space. Starting at the entry, we installed a custom reclaimed plank barn door with bold large format hardware from Rustica Hardware. In the bathroom, the custom slate blue vanity from Tharp Cabinet Company is an eye catching statement piece. This is paired with gorgeous hardware from Amerock, vessel sinks from Kohler, and Purist faucets also from Kohler. We replaced the old built-in bathtub with a new freestanding soaker from Signature Hardware. The floor tile is a bold, graphic porcelain tile with a classic color scheme. The shower was upgraded with new tile and fixtures throughout: new clear glass, gorgeous distressed subway tile from the Castle line from TileBar, and a sophisticated shower panel from Vigo. We finalized the space with a small crystal chandelier and soft gray paint. This project is a stunning conversion and we are so thrilled that our client can enjoy these personalized spaces for years to come.

We expanded this 1974 home from 1,200 square feet to 1,600 square feet with a new front addition and large kitchen remodel! This home was in near-original condition, with dark wood doors & trim, carpet, small windows, a cramped entry, and a tiny kitchen and dining space. The homeowners came to our design-build team seeking to increase their kitchen and living space and update the home's style with durable new finishes. "We're hard on our home!", our clients reminded us during the design phase of the project. The highlight of this project is the entirely remodeled kitchen, which rests in the combined footprint of the original small kitchen and the dining room. The crisp blue and white cabinetry is balanced against the warmth of the wide plank hardwood flooring, custom-milled wood trim, and new wood ceiling beam. This family now has space to gather around the large island, designed to have a useful function on each side. The entertaining sides of the island host bar seating and a wine refrigerator and built-in bottle storage. The cooking and prep sides of the island include a bookshelf for cookbooks --perfectly within reach of the gas cooktop and double ovens-- and a microwave drawer across from the refrigerator; only a step away to reheat meals.

This Queen Anne style five story townhouse in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn is one of a pair that were built in 1887 by Charles Erhart, a co-founder of the Pfizer pharmaceutical company. The brownstone façade was restored in an earlier renovation, which also included work to main living spaces. The scope for this new renovation phase was focused on restoring the stair hallways, gut renovating six bathrooms, a butler’s pantry, kitchenette, and work to the bedrooms and main kitchen. Work to the exterior of the house included replacing 18 windows with new energy efficient units, renovating a roof deck and restoring original windows. In keeping with the Victorian approach to interior architecture, each of the primary rooms in the house has its own style and personality. The Parlor is entirely white with detailed paneling and moldings throughout, the Drawing Room and Dining Room are lined with shellacked Oak paneling with leaded glass windows, and upstairs rooms are finished with unique colors or wallpapers to give each a distinct character. The concept for new insertions was therefore to be inspired by existing idiosyncrasies rather than apply uniform modernity. Two bathrooms within the master suite both have stone slab walls and floors, but one is in white Carrara while the other is dark grey Graffiti marble. The other bathrooms employ either grey glass, Carrara mosaic or hexagonal Slate tiles, contrasted with either blackened or brushed stainless steel fixtures. The main kitchen and kitchenette have Carrara countertops and simple white lacquer cabinetry to compliment the historic details.
