The dining room ceiling is very tall -- 14 feet -- and is complimented with a unique wooden wall covering. The window treatments employ an ocean-blue contrast cuff detail to the goblet-like pleats at the top of the treatments, which adds an element of surprise above the normal horizon. Pineapple House designers soften the dining room with two layers of window treatments. They place banquettes in two niches, plus create interest and rhythm with a wood veneer wall covering on the ceiling. Two oversized chaise lounges invite the homeowners to relax by the fireplace. The windows are treated with amethyst side panels and toppers that frame shimmering sheers with metallic threads. A prominent, socially active couple with five children asked Pineapple House Interior Design to help them update their newly acquired traditional home. The man of the house is a 6’6” professional athlete, as are his best friends and teammates, which required that the furniture throughout the home be custom-made and oversized. The couple often entertains, so most areas are open and inviting, though select rooms were given more masculine or feminine tones per the expected visitors therein. A Bonisolli Photography

Pineapple House designers replaced the client's old-school theater with a modernized configuration that includes polished walls, speakers hidden behind mesh grates, multi-levels with steps, oversized loungers and over-scale seating and a bar. Motorized drapery is integrated in the crown molding. When activated, the blue panels open and expose the 150” screen while simultaneously closing over the entrances into the room.
