Staircase - southwestern staircase idea in Kansas City

Full second floor renovation with new expanded bathroom. We started this project by taking down all the second floors plaster on the walls and ceilings. We reframed the bedroom closets to better utilize the space as well as adding a new hallway linen closet. We enlarged the main bathroom giving room for a new show stopping shower. New insulation, drywall, and trims were installed throughout. We also installed all new soft close by pass closet doors, new closet shelving, and black gas pipe closet rods. New Johnson hickory hardwood floors were installed throughout the bedrooms, hall, and stairs in English pub series; color hickory scotch. The bathroom tile work is exceptional and the metallic accent band adds to the look. From the ground up this second floor is brand new and it shows. Everything is now crisp and bright; a totally different space.

On this Stairwell we painted the risers as limestone, Gilded the iron twists, and finished the Railing as Antique Walnut!

From the moment you enter this home, the stairway draws you in. A gentle curved structure ascends through the grand foyer, featuring beautifully finished red oak handrails and treads that complement the home’s hardwood floors. The wrought iron balustrade tells a cohesive design story. Its pattern echoes the forged-iron doors on the main level, then continues upward along the staircase and across the second-floor balconies, creating visual continuity throughout the home's vertical spaces. Crisp lines and shadow play add depth and dimension, conveying the rich sense of old-world luxury the design team envisioned. This is more than a staircase. The sophisticated Embassy Row 1 interior railing has stunning 5/8” steel round pickets with customer-designed collars as well as 11/16’’ steel round bars on Gatling-gun-styled posts with custom-made alabaster lights containing 5-watt bulbs. Both the pickets and posts have a beautiful nickel finish. This railing also features a 2”-wide, oval-shaped bronze top rail and a 1½” x ½” bronze-channel bottom rail.
