One of our favorite elements of this modern wine cellar is the mirrored ceiling. This is a creative trick to provide an infinite appearance that will elude to the idea of having hundreds of shelves! Playing off of the vast collection, we decided to install a mirrored ceiling. This design element allowed us to have some fun, and to further accentuate the large collection. The Lower Level of the Arlington features a recreation room, living space, wet bar and unfinished storage areas. Also includes a temperature controlled wine cellar and tasting room.

This temperature-controlled wine cellar can house over 1000 bottles. The custom cabinetry went through about 3 different versions between using a premanufactured cabinet vs designing and having a local cabinet company make it. Using the different styles of racks, X cabinets and grid styles of wine storage added to the beauty of this space. The custom table in the middle is for tastings and the back wall cabinet was designed to house all the tools needed for opening up a bottle and the shelves are used to display wine glasses and pictures of their travels. The natural look was used to help showcase the wine bottles as the labels added color. Design Connection, Inc. Kansas City interior designer provided space planning, architectural drawings, barstools, tile, plumbing fixtures, countertops, cabinets and hardware, lighting, paint colors, coordination with the builder and project management to ensure that the high standards of Design Connection, Inc. were maintained.

The cellar features custom oak wine racks, display shelving, and dedicated storage for bottles, cases, and larger formats. Integrated LED lighting highlights the wood grain and bottle presentation, while a black-framed insulated glass enclosure allows the wine collection to remain visible while maintaining proper temperature control. The custom layout maximizes storage capacity while keeping the space organized and visually balanced. A galley butler's pantry that has storage on both sides. The cabinets are done in Iron Ore with brushed gold hardware. A gold hammered sink with a black and gold faucet. Penny tile brings out the color in the cabinets and the quartz countertops. The wine closet is custom and is temperature controlled. Even though it is a closet it has a ton of space for the owner's wine collection. Light enhances its beauty as you look through the glass door.
