This kitchen was designed to function around a large family. The owners spend their weekend prepping large meals with extended family, so we gave them as much countertop space to prep and cook as we could. Tall cabinets, a secondary banks of drawers, and a bar area, were placed to the connecting space from the kitchen to the dining room for additional storage. Finally, a light wood and selective accents were chosen to give the space a light and airy feel.

High gloss white contrasts with sustainable bamboo veneers, run horizontally, and stained a warm matte caramel color. The showpiece is the 3” bamboo framing around the tall units, engineered in strips that perfectly align with the breaks in the surrounding cabinetry. So as not to clutter the clean lines of the flat panel doors, the white cabinets open with touch latches, most of which have lift-up mechanisms. Base cabinets have integrated channel hardware in stainless steel, echoing the appliances. Storage abounds, with such conveniences as tray partitions, corner swing-out lazy susans, and assorted dividers and inserts for the profusion of large drawers. Pure white quartz countertops terminate in a waterfall end at the peninsula, where there’s room for three comfortable stools under the overhang. A unique feature is the execution of the cooktop: it’s set flush into the countertop, with a fascia of quartz below it; the cooktop’s knobs are set into that fascia. Il progetto nasce dall’esigenza di valorizzare un appartamento inizialmente caratterizzato da ambienti completamente bianchi, trasformandolo in uno spazio dal carattere distintivo e riconoscibile. L’obiettivo era creare un’atmosfera accattivante, capace di emergere rispetto alle numerose proposte ricettive presenti sul lago, senza rinunciare alla funzionalità e alla versatilità richieste dagli affitti a breve termine. La presenza di tre camere da letto ha suggerito l’idea di attribuire a ciascuna una propria identità cromatica, attraverso tre tonalità intense e sofisticate: terracotta, verde oliva e blu oltremare. Questi colori non definiscono soltanto le camere, ma diventano il filo conduttore dell’intero progetto, ripresi anche nelle zone comuni mediante tagli di colore strategici e contrasti calibrati, capaci di dare ritmo e profondità agli spazi. Le armadiature, concepite come piccole cabine armadio, sono state invece realizzate in toni neutri, una scelta che garantisce equilibrio visivo e una base estetica duratura. Questo approccio consente di aggiornare facilmente il look dell’appartamento nel tempo con semplici interventi di tinteggiatura, mantenendo gli ambienti sempre contemporanei e in sintonia con l’evoluzione del gusto. Il risultato è un appartamento dall’immagine fresca e memorabile, dove il colore diventa strumento progettuale per definire l’identità degli spazi e offrire agli ospiti un’esperienza accogliente, raffinata e unica.
