The goal of this remodel's design began with the homeowners dream to restore her cherished 1908 home to its vintage glory, updating it with Art Deco inspired touches while maintaining its original character and charm. In the kitchen; marble counters, unlacquered brass hardware, vintage mirrors, and a library ladder were used to accomplish the old meets new aesthetic. A custom hood with hand painted gold detail and a Lacanche French range are centerpieces of this timeless black and white kitchen. The show stopping powder room off the kitchen is a bright pop of color featuring Schumacher's Chiang Mai Dragon print wallpaper, vintage swan faucet, and a turquoise Cyan Design chandelier installed on the metallic gold ceiling. The kitchen features Poggenpohl cabinets in both Light Grey and Titan Grey, Black Galaxy granite around the perimeter and a magnificent slab of Astrick granite on the island. The appliance package includes Sub-Zero refrigerator, freezer and beverage center; Viking gas range, convection ovens and warming drawer; Miele dishwasher and Chang Dorsa range hood. Excess asphalt surrounding driveway excavated to accommodate 6" of gravel base and 2” of wall block buried underground. Cozy patio with walkway features gravel and stone dust base with polymeric joint sand, granite blend stone, and cement edging. The final product gave us a streamlined result our clients were thrilled with!

Susan is thrilled with the results no matter how long it took to achieve her design vision. The bathroom that was created during the project makes use of Subway Tile, Hexagon Mosaics, and Wood Look Tile on the floors and on the walls. The bathroom includes a double vanity, shower “room,” bathtub and commode, all in a space that features interesting ceiling angles and a unique bathing area. The shower stall is located on one end of a long, narrow space punctuated in the middle with a window that streams in bright sunlight. The subway tiles in much of the shower space are a Turquoise color, though the stall itself also includes White Subway tiles.
