Modern kitchen in urban neighborhood. All custom cabinets are painted flat panel, or flat panel with anigre hardwood. Countertop surfaces are marble and honed pietra del cardosa quartzite. Maximum storage with floor to ceiling cabinets on wall with built-in fridge and ovens. A retro 1950’s kitchen featuring green custom colored cabinets with glass door mounts, under cabinet lighting, pull-out drawers, and Lazy Susans. To contrast with the green we added in red window treatments, a toaster oven, and other small red polka dot accessories. A few final touches we made include a retro fridge, retro oven, retro dishwasher, an apron sink, light quartz countertops, a white subway tile backsplash, and retro tile flooring. Home located in Humboldt Park Chicago. Designed by Chi Renovation & Design who also serve the Chicagoland area and it's surrounding suburbs, with an emphasis on the North Side and North Shore. A Beautiful White Kitchen by Designer Gail O'Rourke of White Wood Kitchens. Function drove decisions while style and delight drove the finishes. A Fieldstone Cabinet kitchen, this is an excellent example of how to get it all.

This kitchen is the perfect play on modern versus classic. The melamine grey cabinetry is very modern yet the wood grain gives it that more traditional feel. All the appliances are modern stainless steel. The lighting pendants are very transitional as is the quartz countertops. Although not shown well in this photo, the countertops, which also have been applied to the walls as a back splash, have a grey veining, giving them the appearance of carrara marble. Quartz is a great alternative to marble, as it is much more function and maintenance free.
