The exterior was properly prepped and coated to refresh the home’s appearance while providing long-lasting protection from the elements. This garage makeover project in Akron, OH consisted of our epoxy floor coating, cabinets & organizers. The epoxy floor coating was a perfect solution to the home owner's stained & pitted concrete floor. We used our Flex-Core, Decorative Flake floor coating in "Creek bed". We added our Signature Series "Garage Grade" wall mounted cabinetry in our "Driftwood" finish. A work station with a stainless steel tool organizer cabinet and butcher block counter top. The work station also allows for easy transition in and out the door. It provides a convenient place to drop keys, back packs, groceries. The grid wall added the final touches to complete organization, offering easy access to everyday items.

This porch, located in Grant Park, had been the same for many years with typical rocking chairs and a couch. The client wanted to make it feel more like an outdoor room and add much needed storage for gardening tools, an outdoor dining option, and a better flow for seating and conversation.
My thought was to add plants to provide a more cozy feel, along with the rugs, which are made from recycled plastic and easy to clean. To add curtains on the north and south sides of the porch; this reduces rain entry, wind exposure, and adds privacy.
This renovation was designed by Heidi Reis of Abode Agency LLC who serves clients in Atlanta including but not limited to Intown neighborhoods such as: Grant Park, Inman Park, Midtown, Kirkwood, Candler Park, Lindberg area, Martin Manor, Brookhaven, Buckhead, Decatur, and Avondale Estates.

Unique pre-installed brackets for hanging are mounted to the back of each piece and "float" the artwork off the wall approximately 2". You can display this piece horizontally or vertically. Welcome to a culinary haven where contemporary sophistication meets practical design in this custom kitchen adorned with soaring 10 ft ceilings. The modern ambiance is immediately apparent, with sleek Shaker-style doors painted in a bold, elegant black, creating a striking contrast against the expansive height of the room.
The kitchen is not merely a cooking space; it's a statement of style and functionality. A walk-in butler's pantry offers an abundance of storage and organizational possibilities, ensuring that every culinary tool and ingredient has its designated place. This pantry is seamlessly integrated into the kitchen layout, allowing for easy access to essentials while maintaining a clean, uncluttered appearance.
At the heart of the kitchen stands a spacious working island, its sleek black surface providing a chic and durable workspace. This island is designed for efficiency, equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and ample storage, making meal preparation a seamless and enjoyable experience.
Adjacent to the working island, a stylish dining island beckons, featuring exquisite waterfall countertops that cascade gracefully to the floor. This design not only adds a touch of luxury but also serves as an inviting space for casual dining and entertaining guests. The smooth, uninterrupted surface of the waterfall countertops enhances the modern aesthetic, while the choice of gold-colored handles and knobs adds a touch of opulence to the overall design.
Emphasizing the kitchen's commitment to customization and luxury, the appliances seamlessly blend into the cabinetry. The panel-ready fridge maintains the sleek, uniform appearance of the kitchen, ensuring that the focus remains on the design elements rather than the machinery.
Crowning this culinary masterpiece is a custom wood hood, adding a touch of warmth and organic texture to the predominantly modern setting. This thoughtful integration of natural materials creates a harmonious balance between contemporary aesthetics and timeless appeal.
In this custom kitchen with its high ceilings, modern Shaker-style doors, black color palette, and opulent gold accents, culinary enthusiasts are invited to elevate their cooking experience in an environment where functionality meets exquisite design.

As a phase two for this home, APD was brought back to address the bathrooms and bedrooms of our Northwest Hills Mid Century project. While the hall bathroom was simple in scope - pull out what was old and replace with all new - the finished product is anything but simple. A walnut floating vanity takes center stage and grounds the space for all remaining selections. The enlarged penny tile in natural black basalt is a fresh and modern take on a very classic material while providing a functional foundation to the room. Modernity is continued in the updated scale in the herringbone marble shower tile, the warmth of which reflects back to the walnut vanity. With these elements, alongside the rich and warm brass finish on the plumbing, lighting, and cabinet hardware, the hall bathroom now shines as a welcoming room for guests!
The primary bedroom and bathroom are the showstoppers of this phase! Unused and awkwardly located closets in both the bedroom and bathroom were removed to make way for additional square-footage in the bath and replaced with a sizable and functional reach-in closet in the bedroom. A dated and cramped shower stall was removed in favor for an expansive step in shower spanning the width of the bathroom and a new transom window washes the room in natural light. While the previous bathroom was only able to accommodate a single vanity, the new layout allowed us to create double matching vanities mirrored across from each other - a much appreciated addition for a primary bath. Floating walnut vanities boast impressive storage and are capped with tower cabinets with hidden outlets for charging and storing electronic bathroom tools. While the color palette is restrained - black, white, gray, and brown - the result is a timelessly modern and masculine space that is at once striking and warm. Modern geometric patterns play with each other throughout the material selections.
Since we believe firmly in cohesive design, we encourage you to find elements from Phase 1 that are reimagined in Phase 2 (hint, there are a lot!), including the walnut slat detail used to accentuate garden windows in the guest bedrooms!

We had a several challenges to face with this project. Not only did we need to update a dated landscape to accommodate two seemingly different design tastes (modern & minimalistic vs natural english garden), we were tasked with improving the property’s drainage, improving the driveway access, reducing water usage and plant maintenance, and fixing a crumbling wall.
To marry the two design tastes, we started with the more modern elements of metal planters and softened the landscape with mass plantings of ornamental grasses and native sedge. These grasses act as a turf replacement that do not need to be mowed and require less regular watering. On each side of the yard we constructed new cedar fences to provide updated and additional privacy. In addition, we poured a new concrete wall to replace the existing retaining wall and play off the new modern vibe.

The original galley kitchen on the main level of this rowhouse was cut off from the living and dining spaces. We removed two brick walls to bring natural light into the kitchen and connect it to the other rooms. The kitchen has whitewall shaker-style cabinets and a pale gray island base. A wall of shallow cabinets provides additional storage. We angled the door that leads to the basement for easier access. Large wood and metal pendants add a dramatic touch to the room.

The mandate: a relaxing and inviting office space where clients can feel at ease; a space to have art making sessions; a place to host industry gatherings.
The need: all electronics and functional tools to be maintained discretely to keep the more stress inducing and less visually appealing aspects of work at bay.
The look: an antique feel with modern efficiencies balanced in a way both men and women would feel comfortable with.
The budget: starting from scratch so thoughtful and aware.
The challenge: the uneven floors wreaked havoc on any of the level surfaces and the window, while providing it's uplifting sunshine, meant extra warm temperatures.

Beneath the screened patio, a spacious covered area provides the perfect setting for an outdoor grill and seating area. This multi-functional space can also double as storage for outdoor furniture, tools, or seasonal décor.

Choosing to abandon uniformity in your kitchen can be a great choice if you're looking to opt out of a monochrome aesthetic. Two-toned kitchen cabinets add visual interest and contrast while drawing focus to different features within the space. Designs utilizing two-toned cabinets have become very popular in recent years and it's not a trend that will be fading out any time soon.
Our clients opted for a combination of Earl Grey and Macchiato Classic cabinetry in their two-toned kitchen. The large island with its second faucet, sink, microwave drawer and lower storage is the focal point of the room and a great work surface for food prep and entertaining. A vertical pull out PowerDock was installed into the top of the island for plugging in kitchen tools, phones and laptops. Dolomite Marble subway tile and Brunello quartz countertops brighten up the kitchen and balance out the tone of the cabinets creating a light and airy feel. The addition of contrasting touches such as the Honey Bronze, Flat Black hardware and Champaign Bronze faucets, accessories the room beautifully. The subdued and sophisticated style of this two-toned kitchen is exquisite and shows the various ways that two-tone cabinets can be versatile and appealing.
Some of the other areas that were remodeled in this home included the complete overhaul of the existing stair well, a guest bath and laundry area.
The guest bath has beautiful vanity cabinets in Celest finish, Monochrome Lotus Deco tile and very reflective Midnight Dots in the shower floor and niche. The combination of all three give a striking white, blue and black design that will inspire and show that you can use pattern and texture in small spaces. A twenty four inch wall mounted shower seat can be lifted and secured when in use and tucked away to allow access out of the shower. A pocket door from the guest bathroom provides a second access point to the hallway with the laundry that has also been revamped with the same style and finish of cabinetry.
