Phase One took this cramped, dated lake house into a flowing, open space to maximize highly trafficked areas and provide a better sense of togetherness. Upon discovering a master bathroom leak, we also updated the bathroom giving it a sensible and functional lift in style.

This expansive Victorian had tremendous historic charm but hadn’t seen a kitchen renovation since the 1950s. The homeowners wanted to take advantage of their views of the backyard and raised the roof and pushed the kitchen into the back of the house, where expansive windows could allow southern light into the kitchen all day. A warm historic gray/beige was chosen for the cabinetry, which was contrasted with character oak cabinetry on the appliance wall and bar in a modern chevron detail. Adjacent to the kitchen and garage, the mudroom addition required changes in elevation and was designed with durable Montauk black slate tile to withstand the toughest of muddy foot-trafficked days. Creating a flawless and practical design, Sweeney built custom storage units into the mudroom, a necessity for much needed hidden storage.

Not surprising, mudrooms are gaining in popularity, both for their practical and functional use. This busy Lafayette family was ready to build a mudroom of their own.
Riverside Construction helped them plan a mudroom layout that would work hard for the home. The design plan included combining three smaller rooms into one large, well-organized space. Several walls were knocked down and an old cabinet was removed, as well as an unused toilet.
As part of the remodel, a new upper bank of cabinets was installed along the wall, which included open shelving perfect for storing backpacks to tennis rackets. In addition, a custom wainscoting back wall was designed to hold several coat hooks. For shoe changing, Riverside Construction added a sturdy built-in bench seat and a lower bank of open shelves to store shoes. The existing bathroom sink was relocated to make room for a large closet.
To finish this mudroom/laundry room addition, the homeowners selected a fun pop of color for the walls and chose easy-to-clean, durable 13 x 13 tile flooring for high-trafficked areas.

Located six feet from the sand, this residence seeks to reframe the contextual reference of its inhabitants in order to mitigate its highly trafficked location and create a private beach retreat. In parallel to its unobstructed ocean view, the design carves out infinite pockets of nature within the architecture. From the dining room’s bamboo garden to the expansive skylight above the stairwell, moments of serenity have been carefully composed throughout the home in order to make each frame as infinite as the horizon line of the Pacific Ocean.

The Canteena collection combines the charm of timeless designs with easy-care, livability for any home or lifestyle. The Clanton design delights with floral medallions in hues of pink, blue, tan, and gray. This digitally printed assortment of rugs features stunning abrashed designs that are matched with a traction backing ideal for heavily trafficked, hard surface spaces such as entryways, bathrooms, and kitchens.

Faux turf is a great alternative to lawn in areas that are too shaded for grass, too trafficked by large pets or around a pool.

Since the sunroom is a special, but highly-trafficked space in a pet-friendly home, it required a thoughtful design anchored in comfort and functionality. To highlight the curved architecture, we painted the board and batten trim and used a Schumacher sisal wallcovering on the internal panels. Accent chairs made with custom fabric complement the ever-changing backyard landscape while the cut-to-fit area rug hugs the arched room. A generous, clean-lined sofa provides an inviting place to rest while a coco bead chandelier adds another piece of eye candy to this reborn 1880’s queen.
