Residential Transformation by Homeowner Services of Michigan
At Homeowner Services of Michigan, we bring the same level of expertise and dedication to our residential projects as we do for commercial restorations. Our recent project highlights our commitment to quality, precision, and customer satisfaction. Here's what we accomplished for a delighted homeowner:
We began by removing and replacing three windows and one door, ensuring enhanced energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal. Next, we installed new gutters to provide effective water management and protect the home’s exterior.
Our team meticulously trimmed all windows and repaired or replaced any failed trim boards, ensuring a seamless and polished look. At the rear of the house, we replaced approximately 700 square feet of siding and addressed areas of failed siding totaling about 100 linear feet, restoring the home's structural integrity and appearance.
To complete the transformation, we prepared and painted the entire exterior of the home, including the trim. Using a two-color scheme, we created a fresh, vibrant look that stands out in the neighborhood.
Every aspect of the project was executed with care and precision, reflecting our dedication to delivering exceptional results. Homeowner Services of Michigan is proud to enhance the beauty, functionality, and value of our clients' homes. Contact us today to transform your living space with our expert renovation services.

Kitchen – Integrated Vent Hood, Slab Stone Backsplash & Two-Tone Wood Grain Design | Toronto
This kitchen view builds on the same refined millwork language, with added emphasis on the full-height stone slab backsplash, selected specifically to eliminate grout lines and maintain a clean, uninterrupted surface. The slab backsplash enhances durability, simplifies maintenance, and reinforces the kitchen’s modern, high-end aesthetic.
The custom vent hood cover is precisely matched to the upper cabinet door profile, allowing it to disappear seamlessly into the millwork rather than read as a separate appliance element. This creates a cohesive upper cabinet line and keeps the visual focus on material quality and proportion.
A two-tone wood grain palette adds warmth and depth to the space while maintaining a contemporary feel. Subtle contrast between finishes helps define the cooking zone without overwhelming the overall design.
Integrated flush under-cabinet lighting provides effective task illumination while remaining visually discreet. By recessing the lighting, the cabinetry maintains crisp edges and highlights the stone backsplash and work surfaces below without glare.
This image reflects Cedarstone Group Inc.’s design-build approach at its best: aligning cabinetry, lighting, appliances, and material selections early so the finished kitchen feels intentional, seamless, and timeless.

View from the pool toward the shades: The patio at this private residence in Mahwah NJ faces west, and during the summer months, the heat and glare from the sun is overwhelming; making this beautiful outdoor retreat unbearable. Motorized exterior solar shades were installed on the fascia of the overhang to reduce the harmful effects of the sun. The goals were to create a comfortable living space, reduce the glare, heat and UV, and reduce flying insects and inclement weather when in use. A Charcoal colored fabric was chosen for this roller shade as retaining the view was one of the priorities. The shade cloth selected blocks 95% of glare, but still allows the an unobstructed view of the pool for safety, and keeps the views of the Ramapo River and beautifully landscaped property. The amount of coverage and openness of the fabric drastically reduces insects and inclement weather, and cable guide rails were chosen to keep the shade fabric from billowing in the wind. Due to their small footprint, cable guides are more aesthetically pleasing versus aluminum rails, zip rails or concealed edge options which were available, but not selected for this application. The Somfy motorization allows for push-button operation, and was also tied into an existing smart-home automation system which allows the client to control the product remotely. An added benefit of this automation feature allows the client to save on cooling related air conditioning costs. The combination of 95% UV blockage and dark colored fabric gives these exterior solar shades an 87% Solar Heat Gain Coefficient, meaning that these solar screen shades will dramatically reduce the amount of UV and heat penetrating the windows of the home.
Fabric Specifications:
Mermet Satine Charcoal/Charcoal,
Pattern 30.30
7% Solar Transmittance (Ts)
5% Solar Reflectance (Rs)
88% Solar Absorptance (As)
7% Visible Light Transmission VLT (Tv)

Bathrooms are no longer just functional spaces; they’re mini sanctuaries where we unwind, reset, and start or end the day. One of the biggest trends driving modern bathroom design is the move towards open, spacious layouts – and at the centre of that look is the wet room shower screen.
At BathroomNation, we’ve helped countless homeowners transform traditional bathrooms into sleek, practical wet rooms using high-quality wet room shower screens. In this blog, we’ll explain what a wet room shower screen is, why it’s such a smart choice, how to plan and style it, and what to look for when choosing the perfect one for your home.
What Is a Wet Room Shower Screen?
A wet room shower screen is a fixed or semi-fixed glass panel designed to separate your shower area from the rest of the bathroom floor, without enclosing it like a traditional cubicle. Instead of a full tray and door, you have:
- A level or gently sloped floor (often fully tiled)
- A walk-in, open shower space
- One or more glass panels providing splash protection
- Small bathrooms that feel cramped
- Rooms with limited or no natural light
- Long, narrow spaces where every inch counts
- Ideal for people with limited mobility
- Safer for older users and children
- More comfortable for everyday use
- Almost invisible glass boundaries
- Minimal metal hardware and framing
- A seamless link between shower and non-shower areas
- Quick to wipe down after a shower
- Simple to clean with standard glass cleaner
- Less prone to discoloured seals and hard-to-reach dirt
- The shower head is positioned sensibly to minimise overspray
- Your bathroom is medium or large in size
- You want an ultra‑open, walk‑in feel
- Extends coverage
- Helps keep more water inside the shower area
- Still keeps the openness of a walk‑in design
- Increase the effective width of protection during showering
- Fold the panel away slightly when not in use to open up the space
- 8mm toughened safety glass as standard
- 10mm toughened glass for an even more solid, premium feel
- Prevent water spots and mineral build-up
- Make daily and weekly cleaning quicker
- Keep your wet room shower screen looking clear and new for longer
- Taller screens (often 1900mm or more) provide better splash control
- Various widths let you create both compact and expansive walk-in areas
- Enhance rigidity and safety
- Are typically mounted at the top, near the ceiling or wall
- Can be designed in finishes that match your brassware (chrome, black, brass, etc.)
- Chrome
- Brushed nickel
- Matt black
- Brushed brass or gold tone
- Where the shower head will be placed (ceiling, wall‑mounted, or both)
- How water will naturally fall and drain
- How much splash you’re comfortable with elsewhere in the room
- The floor needs a gentle, even fall towards the drain
- You can use a central drain or linear (channel) drain
- Waterproofing (tanking) is essential beneath tiles or flooring
- Catch most of the spray from your shower head
- Shield the main walkway and dry areas
- Clear, frameless-style glass panel
- Large-format light grey or stone‑effect tiles
- Wall‑mounted rainfall shower head with matching controls
- Floating vanity and wall-hung toilet
- Wet room shower screen with black profile and support bar
- Concrete or stone-look tiles on floor and walls
- Black rainfall shower and matching mixer valve
- Simple timber stool or bench for warmth
- Ultra-clear glass wet room shower screen
- Natural stone or stone‑effect tiles in warm tones
- Brushed brass shower fittings
- Niche shelving built into the wall for toiletries
- Open, walk-in design
- Easier access, especially for mobility needs
- More airy look, less visual clutter
- Simpler to clean (fewer frames and corners)
- Fully enclosed, more contained water
- Usually involves a tray and door
- Can feel more “boxed in” in smaller rooms
