Stone walls, flagstone walkways and Belgian Block accents replaced an older timber and concrete paver front entrance. The Red Cutleaf Japanese Maple, Big Blue Liriope, Globe Blue Spruce, Umbrella Pine and Viburnum were all transplanted from the original front foundation gardens. The stonework matched the original stone work on the home's facade.

A grouping of Hosta 'Golden Meadow', a climbing hydrangea that was transplanted from the garage, and a grouping of Hydrangea paniculata 'Quickfire that was also planted in the fall of 2013.

Home design - contemporary home design idea in Grand Rapids

Flagstone paths and new door landing define a welcoming walk and transition through this mature wooded landscape. A border wall adds dimension and definition to enhance the kitchen window view. Existing hostas were transplanted and repurposed along the new walk.

As part of a multi phase project, we designed the front foundation of this cape house in Osterville. We transplanted shrubs to other locations, installed a sea shell drip edge along the foundation and then planted native plants like winterberry, bearberry, and blueberry to play off the massive maintained woodland plantings throughout the property. We also added perennials and roses to add color throughout the season.
