My clients had outgrown their builder’s basic home and had plenty of room to expand on their 10 acres. Working with a local architect and a talented contractor, we designed an addition to create 3 new bedrooms, a bathroom scaled for all 3 girls, a playroom and a master retreat including 3 fireplaces, sauna, steam shower, office or “creative room”, and large bedroom with folding glass wall to capitalize on their view. The master suite, gym, pool and tennis courts are still under construction, but the girls’ suite and living room space are complete and dust free. Each child’s room was designed around their preference of color scheme and each girl has a unique feature that makes their room truly their own. The oldest daughter has a secret passage hidden behind what looks like built in cabinetry. The youngest daughter wanted to “swing”, so we outfitted her with a hanging bed set in front of a custom mural created by a Spanish artist. The middle daughter is an elite gymnast, so we added monkey bars so she can cruise her room in style. The girls’ bathroom suite has 3 identical “stations” with abundant storage. Cabinetry in black walnut and peacock blue and white quartz counters with white marble backsplash are durable and beautiful. Two shower stalls, designed with a colorful and intricate tile design, prevent bathroom wait times and a custom wall mural brings a little of the outdoors in.

The great room sliding glass doors pocket into the walls opening the indoors to the outdoors in this beach house design. The covered lanai boasts a built-in outdoor kitchen. Woven basket pendants hang about the teak outdoor dining set and two swinging beds hang adjacent to each other for days spent lounging half inside and half outside. The family wanted the pool area to be both comfortable and beautiful so we custom covered the lanai furniture in a green coral motif and a brown tropical leaf pattern so that the living room and lanai flow together into one space.

A gorgeous, serene nursery for a baby boy was created by the concept of a rabbit motif and soft pastel colors. Birch branch blue wallpaper stands alone on the crib accent wall while the stunning metal canopy crib sits in front. An alphabet inspired wood carved dresser flanks the opposite wall with poise and passion.

This rustic living room features a reclaimed wood ceiling and a floor-to-ceiling, brick fireplace. Dark purple fabric runs throughout, complementing the red, plaid draperies. The room is tied together with gold accents and gold chandeliers.

This hand-painted metallic gold faux finish was applied over a deep green base paint with a sheer champagne-gold glaze in block-like sections, then finished with a hand-painted tree and grasses to add interest. The ceiling and crown molding were finished with a complementary faux finish of metallic gold over a lighter base color.

This beautiful French Provincial home is set on 10 acres, nestled perfectly in the oak trees. The original home was built in 1974 and had two large additions added; a great room in 1990 and a main floor master suite in 2001. This was my dream project: a full gut renovation of the entire 4,300 square foot home! I contracted the project myself, and we finished the interior remodel in just six months. The exterior received complete attention as well. The 1970s mottled brown brick went white to completely transform the look from dated to classic French. Inside, walls were removed and doorways widened to create an open floor plan that functions so well for everyday living as well as entertaining. The white walls and white trim make everything new, fresh and bright. It is so rewarding to see something old transformed into something new, more beautiful and more functional.

Inspired by antique Persian "garden" and panel rugs, this design organizes a soft, sandy-beige field into a grid of compartments, each holding faded pictorial motifs — cypress trees, blossoms, birds, and small figural forms — rendered in a scattered, semi-erased palette of cornflower blue, mustard gold, sage green, and dusty maroon. The deliberately faded, weathered treatment gives it the look of a beloved antique rug that's lived a long life, with color emerging unevenly across the surface for a soft, painterly effect.
This distressed pictorial style is especially popular in transitional and modern-eclectic spaces that want traditional storytelling motifs without the visual weight of a fully saturated traditional rug.
