State-of-the-art home theater environment featuring a sound isolated room, a 227” 2.40:1 aspect ratio screen illuminated by a dual laser projection system, and an 11.2.4 immersive audio system delivering an outstanding movie AND music experience. The control system simplifies extremely unique customer requirements such as a dual screen mode to enable watching two A/V sources simultaneously – one heard through the audio system, and the second through headphones. Granular lighting control provides zones to support movie playback, game-room style usage, and an intimate reading and music environment. The room was built from the ground up as “floating” room featuring a custom engineered isolation system, floating concrete floor, and unique speaker placement system. Designed by industry renowned acoustician Russ Berger, the room’s noise floor measured quieter than a typical recording studio and produces a pinpoint accurate reference audio experience. Powered by a 20kW RoseWater HUB20, electrical noise and potential power interruptions are completely eliminated. The audio system is driven by 11.1kW of amplification powering a reference speaker system. Inspiration for a timeless closet remodel in Cincinnati

A remarkable antique exterior door salvaged from Detroit, MI, and dating from the 1920’s. Perfect for either a Tudor or a Spanish Revival home, this 36” arched plank door is accompanied by its original strap hinges, as well as an opening for a mail slot; an offset window features a very unusual stained glass panel with a speakeasy. The stained glass window is made up of multicolored granite glass panes that surround the round speak-easy in the middle. The door is in very good antique condition with the expected scratches and chips typical of an old door; one of the stained glass panes has a small crack(as pictured,) which does not detract from the beauty of the door. It measures 35-7/8” wide, 79-1/2"tall, and 1-3/4” thick. NED324

Whenever possible sill and threshold conditions are developed to create the minimal transition between interior and exterior walking surfaces. The majority of our projects have cut or cast stone threshold treatments. Some extruded sill solutions can be introduced if needed. Outswing doors typically have a step down from interior to exterior. Inswing door sills typically need a raised threshold to prevent water blowing in. Sliding doors have top hung floor guides that are flush to finish floor and offer the most seamless transition while still acting as a water return. Bottom rolling sliding doors have a water return guide track that sits a subtle 3/16" above finish floor for a near flush transition. Whenever weather exposure is a concern, drain slots should be added to the inswing sill designs. Extreme weather environments need more extreme measures and coordination with waterproofing consultants. #JadaSteelWindows

A few years ago, the owners added two stories with finished basement to their Edina home. It was a big project that greatly expanded and enhanced the first-floor kitchen, dining room and living room. The project also added a second-floor bedroom/home office. Their home has another two bedrooms and ¾ bath on the first floor, plus a beautiful master bedroom and ¾ bath on the second floor which they’ve been using for years. Looking into the future they began to consider aging in place: What living on one floor might look like. They determined that the only thing that needed attention was the first-floor bath – it was pretty dated. So, they built their dream bath. They began with tearing everything out, right down to the studs. The new 5’ X 9’ ¾ bath includes a 5’ X 3’ walk-in glass enclosed shower, with a twist. The shower control has been moved from the typical location (just below the shower head) to the opposite wall, just inside the shower door. This allows one to turn on the shower and wait for it to get hot without having to step into the shower and then just stand there and get wet with cold water. A small detail that has proven to be a good idea. The shower floor is made using 3/4" x 3/4" Penny round matte Porcelain mosaic tile set in charcoal grout. The back shower wall and the remaining bathroom floor is constructed with Aster 9" x 10" hexagon glazed Porcelain patterned wall & floor tile. Hexagonal tile adds an unusual feature that establishes a unique, interesting, repeated design. The main bath’s walls feature white matt finish 6" x 18" ceramic Subway Wall tile in white grout. A TOTO center flushing toilet looks great on the dark hexagonal floor tile. The custom vanity features a walnut base with white Silestone top and undermounted Kohler sink with brushed nickel fixtures. Another interesting feature are two 3” X 6” X 18” floating Walnut shelves – just the right touch to add character to the bath without taking up too much space. Finally, the dimmable can lighting is enhanced with two black cylinder slotted pendant lights on either side of the vanity. This project fulfills the promise of down-the-road one floor living with an efficient, comfortable ¾ bath.

Incredible antique four-seat school desk dating from the early 1900s, and salvaged from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. The unusual four-person desk features a slotted back and each seat is marked "81, 82, 83, and 84." Each seat has an arm rest that extends forward to function as a writing surface; the surface of the desks feature the typical wear and carving of antique school desks. Cast iron legs and arm rest supports complete this wonderful piece of Vanderbilt memorabilia; the desk would work wonderfully in a mud room, entry way, kids room or living room. This elongated four-seat desk is in very good condition with a nicely aged patina; it measures 84-1/4" long, 30" tall and projects 26-1/4". NMI36

Slot overflow is minimized at 3/8" wide to create the visual appearance of the water plane being connected and dead level with the patio finish plane. The pool walls are cut straight vertical from the pool edge, promoting a much cleaner line and more dramatic effect than more typical slot overflow edges where the entire top of the pool wall is visible.
