This waterfront pool project in Beaconsfield reimagines a transitional backyard by fusing timeless warmth with crisp modern geometry. At its heart lies a custom concrete pool whose expansive beach entry pool—also known as a generous tanning ledge—slopes gently into the water, delivering the relaxed feel of a private resort. A frameless glass pool fence with low-iron panels preserves unobstructed lake vistas while ensuring safety, allowing the pool’s shimmering surface to merge visually with the open water beyond.
Anchoring the far end of the basin is a dramatic outdoor fire feature that rises directly from the waterline. By day it acts as a sculptural focal point; by night the flames ripple across the water, transforming the space into a show-stopping luxury swimming pool experience. Every contour, drainage line, and equipment specification was shaped by Northstone’s in-house landscape architect design team and executed by our 180-strong crew of specialists, reinforcing our reputation as the go-to Beaconsfield pool builder for bespoke, high-end projects.
Because Northstone is an entirely in-house design build firm, we streamline all stages—city permits, excavation, steel placement, shotcrete, and finishing—under a single roof. This turnkey approach distinguishes us among Montreal pool construction companies and ensures flawless craftsmanship in every pour. It is also why clients seeking a custom pool contractor to create a resort-style backyard consistently choose Northstone.
That commitment to quality has earned us the #1 ranking for landscaping on bestinMTL.com and the top spot for pool design-build on bestmontrealservices.com. Our work has been showcased in Dwell, House & Home, the Montreal Gazette, and Living Luxe Magazine, underscoring our status as Montreal’s premier high-end pool company for luxury outdoor living on lakefront properties.

TV cabinets are not what they once were - bulky, deep, and awkward. Today's TV cabinets must accommodate wall-mounted flat screen televisions, hidden wiring, and a myriad other features designed for media, streaming, and, of course, aesthetics.
This particular set of custom cabinets and shelving was designed to accommodate a 55" wall-mounted TV surrounded by traditional shelving and underscored by nearly 11 feet of cabinets. Built like furniture, but set into the trim and anchored tightly against the wall, this piece fills the long master bedroom wall with function and style.

This pool gives you the feeling of swimming into the landscape. The broad, straight line of the horizon and the long, slender vertical lines of the pool underscore the expansiveness of the property, whose size unquestionably contributes to the impact of its natural beauty. The design is rather understated, creating the impression of having been copied directly from the pool’s natural setting. The landscape and the garden have retained their prominent role despite the addition of the natural pool. The pool blends in unassumingly with its surroundings and is sizeable enough to allow for the swimming of long laps.
A natural pool is the obvious choice for locations such as this. Natural materials and plant filters are without a doubt the ideal option for gardens like these. The beautiful property certainly contributes a great deal to the overall visual impression, but the pool - as close to nature as possible and reduced to essentials - has the look and feel of a body of water that was created here quite naturally.
The addition of the wooden planks and the long, slender shape of the pool are visually very appealing. The water’s edge of the regeneration area blends harmoniously into the landscape and appears as if it had grown there naturally over several years.

With a touch of glamour and a nod to historical European design, this stunning master bathroom remodel is the culmination of years of dreaming for this client who had meticulously researched and planned nearly every design detail she wanted to incorporate. Each element has a significance behind it and underscores the passion our client has for the Classicism period of design and we were honored to bring her vision to life.
From the crown molding and fluted pilasters, to the Schonbek chandelier and sconces with Swarovski crystals, and subtle “aging in place” details that the untrained eye would never know were there, every inch of this beautiful space was designed with careful thought and love.

The idea was to create a glass cabinet that would have the feel of a buffet/serving piece and to serve as a connection to the dining/breakfast area. The color enhances its individuality yet complements the space as a whole and further underscoring the 'evolution over time' concept.
The cabinet is finished in an antique distressed red.
The china cabinet counter top is pine, giving the strong suggestion of a utilitarian chopping board. English manor/country house kitchens were places of great funtionality and practicality!

Sustainability issues include 8" staggered stud clueless filled walls, and extra attention paid toward tightening the air envelope. The middle floor system is framed with web joists which facilitate ducting the mini split air conditioning and Zehnder heat recovery ventilation system. The roof has 12" of cellulose underscored with 4" of rigid foam. The photovoltaic array covers half the roof and is ample for the needs of the house.
Building a house in a flood zone poses challenges for locating HVAC equipment but the mini splits have a nice system for attaching them to the outside wall of the house, high enough to avoid water inundation and low enough for servicing.
