A minimalist chef's kitchen unfolds in clean linear elegance, where handleless European cabinetry, integrated premium appliances, and a dramatic concrete-topped island meet panoramic forest views through floor-to-ceiling glass. It all started with a sliding barn door and a bold and simple thought: what if we painted it “Geranium”? From there, a neutral-meets-ethnic loft interior unfolded at Society Hill Tower, perched high above the city of Philadelphia. Our client brought us in as interior designers to collaborate with Ambit Architecture, who helped her merge two adjacent apartment units into one, large, open floor-plan unit. One of the challenges on a project like this is the very openness of the space – there are many furniture selections visually connected to one another, and connected to the kitchen, with its bold pops of yellow. So it was important to establish some fundamentally neutral tones that would provide unity from one furniture grouping to the next. We also wanted to make sure that the panoramic views of the city would remain an important focus of the space. Therefore, in the living and dining room, we chose large scale furniture pieces made from rustic or reclaimed wood, while upholstered pieces are covered in crisp linen or neutral leather. Then, we added layer upon layer of cheery textiles and prints. We started with jute and color reform wool rugs. Then, we added an ottoman also wrapped in an ethnic rug, kilim pillows, and velvety throws. The result is a space that is unified, lively, yet calm. Photos by Ambit Architecture

The client discovered a large but passed-over property overlooking a beautiful part of Canyon Lake. When we hiked down the overgrown hillside and came to a small clearing with a glimpse of the lake, all of the potential of the site began to unfold, and the client shouted “This is it!” We designed the house to fit the hillside on three levels, with the main-level rooms opening to loggias that overlook a pool terrace with stunning views of the lake. The house serves as a retreat for a large family and a place to entertain business associates. The client provided antique mantels, flooring and other materials that add a patina of well-worn age to the home.

Our journey with this client began with a major interior remodel, focusing on transforming their kitchen and living room into something extraordinary. But as the project unfolded, their vision expanded. Why stop at the interior? Inspired by the stunning changes inside, they decided it was time to elevate the exterior—and incorporate a thoughtful addition—to match the same standard. This home received a full exterior facelift with durable, low-maintenance materials like Hardi siding, Azek decking, and PVC flat roofing. The goal was to enhance Puget Sound views and create a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. The west-facing wall, once limited to two small kitchen windows, now features a 12-foot, four-panel sliding door, flooding the space with light and improving access. A rebuilt deck with tempered glass panels and a sleek Clearview railing system enhances openness and visibility. Inside, the dark, closed-off kitchen became a bright, modern space with extended cabinetry, a minimalist design, and improved flow. Thoughtful updates turned this home into a stunning, open-concept retreat.

On the Upper West Side of Manhattan, a transformative renovation project was unfolding as two spacious apartments seamlessly merged into a luxurious, expansive residence. Walls came down, creating an open and flowing layout that embraced the essence of open plan living.

Seamlessly designed with integrated finger pulls for a sleek aesthetic, the island becomes a focal point of sophistication. Starting from the far left, a world of convenience unfolds behind the discreet white oak doors, revealing both a regular fridge and a keg fridge. Adjacent to this concealed haven, two thoughtfully designed storage drawers cater to your glassware and accessory needs. Beneath the sink, a well-organized garbage bin system is paired with a seamlessly panelled dishwasher, enhancing the functionality of your space. Finally, on the far right, a panelled beverage fridge with a clear glass panel stands as the crowning jewel, inviting you to showcase your selection in style.

Step into a space that seamlessly blends functional organization, relaxation, and a touch of fun. The renovation journey unfolded with a meticulous focus on the home's architecture, the client's design preferences, and the need for a practical yet stylish family environment. The primary bathroom takes center stage in promoting relaxation, featuring a spa-like ambiance with soothing colors, heated floors, a beautiful soaking tub, and gentle under-counter lighting creating a tranquil atmosphere. A cleverly integrated cabinet space is also available, providing a discreet storage solution for the less aesthetically pleasing litter box while ensuring easy access for our feline friends. In the kitchen, attention to detail shines through with a stunning wood-trimmed vent hood and wooden pulls that punctuate the Indigo Blue cabinets, introducing natural elements and a touch of warmth. Ample storage was a crucial requirement for this kitchen. Featuring expansive pull-out drawers, a concealed lazy Susan, impressive spice storage, and a discreet power source for the cordless vacuum, every detail has been considered for optimal functionality. Connected to the kitchen, you'll discover a dining area designed for versatility. This multipurpose zone seamlessly integrates wine storage, pantry space, a dedicated baking center, cocktail preparation area, and a convenient coffee zone. The main level's powder room pays homage to the homeowners' roots, boasting a vibrant wallpaper by Chasing Paper that adds a playful touch. The harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality continues with an additional mixed-use space that serves as a delightful getaway, complete with outdoor access and ample countertop space for both utility and enjoyment. The project began with this request to have a home that was understated but uniquely unfolded after entering. Each living space redirects orientation; expansive courtyard views shift to private gardens, and neighborhood foliage is displayed in vaulted clerestory windows, also giving unexpected volume to the low-slung house. The house is organized around an existing pecan tree and proposed pool with bedrooms off the courtyard. The living room and master bedroom bookend this oasis with covered patios under the canopy overlooking the pool.

The priority for this project was to open up the compartmentalized spaces so that there was better flow and access to all the natural light. Walls were removed and by getting rid of darker finishes/cabinets and some low ceilings the living spaces brightened up. New flooring, paint, cabinets, furniture, and lighting all lend themselves to a fresh approach to living comfortably without sacrificing aesthetics. It was an absolute pleasure to watch this transformation unfold.

These bathroom renovations unfold a story of renewal, where once-quaint bathrooms are now super spacious, with no shortage of storage solutions, and distinctive tile designs for a touch of contemporary opulence. With an emphasis on modernity, these revamped bathrooms are the perfect place to get ready in the morning, enjoy a luxurious self-care moment, and unwind in the evenings!

This client came to me requesting a concept rather than a style. After living in his home for 15 years, he wanted it to have a “beach-poolside vibe”. This made for a fun approach. Styles can have so many names and nuances that clients don’t always know exactly what style they are looking at or requesting. With a request for a concept, I just needed to determine if my approach should be literal or figurative. I came to the initial consultation with concept boards with both approaches, and it was determined that figurative was the desired approach. As the project unfolded, playfulness did too, and some literal elements were added—particularly for the pleasure of his future guests.

Baymore bathroom vanity base is constructed of Birch veneer, MDF, and Poplar solids. Features include two doors that open to storage, faux top drawer, stratus charcoal gray distressed farmhouse finish, and brushed steel hardware. Vanity is further complimented by Avenza stone marble white and gray vanity top with sink. The marble veneer top has a marine plywood core that will stand the test of time in high moisture bathrooms. Our unique Patented "Unfold and Lock" technology makes assembly a breeze! Our process requires no tools for the assembly of the vanity base and top and only a screwdriver to fasten the vanity base to the wall.

Brunswick Parlour transforms a Victorian cottage into a hard-working, personalised home for a family of four. Our clients loved the character of their Brunswick terrace home, but not its inefficient floor plan and poor year-round thermal control. They didn't need more space, they just needed their space to work harder. The front bedrooms remain largely untouched, retaining their Victorian features and only introducing new cabinetry. Meanwhile, the main bedroom’s previously pokey en suite and wardrobe have been expanded, adorned with custom cabinetry and illuminated via a generous skylight. At the rear of the house, we reimagined the floor plan to establish shared spaces suited to the family’s lifestyle. Flanked by the dining and living rooms, the kitchen has been reoriented into a more efficient layout and features custom cabinetry that uses every available inch. In the dining room, the Swiss Army Knife of utility cabinets unfolds to reveal a laundry, more custom cabinetry, and a craft station with a retractable desk. Beautiful materiality throughout infuses the home with warmth and personality, featuring Blackbutt timber flooring and cabinetry, and selective pops of green and pink tones. The house now works hard in a thermal sense too. Insulation and glazing were updated to best practice standard, and we’ve introduced several temperature control tools. Hydronic heating installed throughout the house is complemented by an evaporative cooling system and operable skylight. The result is a lush, tactile home that increases the effectiveness of every existing inch to enhance daily life for our clients, proving that good design doesn’t need to add space to add value.

The Petal & Poppy Home is a vibrant, collected family residence defined by bold color, layered pattern, and a confident sense of personality. Designed over several years as the young family grew, the home reflects an evolving story rooted in warmth, creativity, and a love of expressive interiors. Color guided the design from the outset. A blue grasscloth dining room and an existing pink Persian rug in the formal living room became the foundation for a palette that unfolded organically throughout the home. With clients eager to mix patterns and embrace saturated hues, the design process focused on contrast, cohesion, and joyful self-expression. The entry makes an immediate statement with a playful spotted stair runner, oversized artwork, and a high-gloss black handrail that introduces graphic contrast. The formal living room, designed for entertaining, is the moodiest space in the home. Dark garnet walls and a commissioned piece by local artist Carrie Gillen create a dramatic backdrop, while pink tweed swivel chairs and a tailored charcoal sofa complete a space designed for lingering. Beyond French doors, the home office is an immersive mix of pattern and color, with wallpaper wrapping both walls and ceiling. A leopard carpet and modern crystal chandelier add a touch of glamour, resulting in a space that feels energizing and personal. The dining room continues the confident use of blue, layering patterns around a custom round pedestal table designed for everyday meals and gatherings alike. At the heart of the home, the family room was designed for togetherness. A bright blue sectional anchors the space, complemented by custom ottomans on hidden casters and softened with tailored throw pillows. Existing bookshelves are refreshed with a Peter Fasano wallcovering, creating a collected, lived-in backdrop. Upstairs, the primary suite offers a softer expression of color, blending blues, oranges, and pinks, while built-in window benches add moments of comfort. The children’s bedrooms balance playfulness with longevity, layered with color and texture designed to grow alongside them.
