This contemporary home has unique touches. The front door and garage door give you a modern vibe and the dark roof and window casings are a great way to bring out the quality style of the home. Even though this is contemporary it does have a modern flair that sets it a part from its counter parts. Its almost as if two styles came together like two unique personalities in a relationship bringing out the best in each other.

Balanced shade, dappled sunlight, and tree canopy views are the basis of the 518 Sacramento Drive house design. The entry is on center with the lot’s primary Live Oak tree, and each interior space has a unique relationship to this central element. Composed of crisply-detailed, considered materials, surfaces and finishes, the home is a balance of sophistication and restraint. The two-story massing is designed to allow for a bold yet humble street presence, while each single-story wing extends through the site, forming intimate outdoor and indoor spaces. The outdoor kitchen on the side and the relationship of the use areas and the pool. The old brick next to the porch has a unique drain system for roof runoff to be carried away.. the discoloration is copper roof...

The large family room splits duties as a sports lounge, media room, and wet bar. The double volume space was partly a result of the integration of the architecture into the hillside, local building codes, and also creates a very unique spacial relationship with the entry and lower levels. Enhanced sound proofing and pocketing sliding doors help to control the noise levels for adjacent bedrooms and living spaces.

The key design driver for the project was to create a simple but contemporary extension that responded to the existing dramatic topography in the property’s rear garden. The concept was to provide a single elegant form, cantilevering out into the tree canopies and over the landscape. Conceived as a house within the tree canopies the extension is clad in sweet chestnut which enhances the relationship to the surrounding mature trees. Large sliding glass panels link the inside spaces to its unique environment. Internally the design successfully resolves the Client’s brief to provide an open plan and fluid layout, that subtly defines distinct living and dining areas. The scheme was completed in April 2016
