The kitchen remodel included eliminating the breakfast area, closing an unused window to the garage, improving the layout and flow of the space, and opening up the wall to the dining room, The entry to the laundry room was also enlarged, and a new back door with partial glass was installed from the laundry room to the backyard for easier access to a new patio area, and more natural light. New flooring, cabinetry, counter tops, tile, lighting and plumbing fixtures were installed.

Our clients came to us with a desire to expand what was a fairly small kitchen in a large 1977 home. Many of the main living spaces were unused, so the existing kitchen and former dining room were combined into a new, large kitchen that includes 2 large walnut topped islands, a bar area, and an organizational area for mail and crafts. What was created was a room that allows the family to cook, entertain and play all in one area. The amount of storage space in this kitchen was fully maximized through custom pantry cabinets, pull out accessories and more. The perimeter cabinets were topped off with beautiful, classic Cambria quartz counters that resemble marble – a finish that fits perfectly into this traditionally styled home. The traditional style was played up through unique cement tiles, subway tiles, wired glass cabinet door inserts, a farm style sink, and oil rubbed bronze finishes. The appliances were a definite upgrade as well, reusing the single oven in the island and adding a large 36” range. In the end, this show-stopping kitchen is now a family friendly oasis for everyone from the cooks to the kids.

An 1800’s carriage house sets the stage for this classic kitchen remodel. The homeowners wanted to be true to the architecture of their home while incorporating top quality, cutting edge appliances and modern day conveniences. They are discerning cooks who entertain often. The original kitchen, done in the 1990’s, had built-out walls covering the original stone of the house. Once exposed and repointed, the stone served as an amazing backsplash in the space, and we were able to gain almost 12” in the width of the room! The fabulous matte black BlueStar range is topped off with a unique antique fireback and is complimented by hand-pegged, hand-planed custom cabinetry that are scribed to the stone walls with precision. The distressed soapstone counters bring warmth to the space that makes you want to cozy up and stay a while. Since the kitchen does not allow for an island, the unused dining room was turned into a combined bar area and butler’s pantry. This small room packs a lot in with antique heart pine countertops, beadboard backsplash, and cabinetry backs, which provide a warm, casual feel. An additional refrigerator and dishwasher, as well as an icemaker, all hidden behind cabinetry panels, provide everything they need, and more, for entertaining family and friends. This remodel project consisted of the primary (master) bathroom, bedroom, closet, hall bathroom, and laundry room. In the primary bathroom, we removed the walk-in shower, which felt cave-like, to add much-needed closet space. The unused jetted bath was then replaced with a zero-entry spa shower. Honed Grecian marble covers the floors and shower for a casually elevated sanctuary. In addition, the quiet texture of the shiplap balances the shower. To finish, a tranquil color pallet was chosen to sweep throughout the space, accented with matte black fixtures.

A pocket of space between an existing deck and the home needed some added punch. Low maintenance plants, pea gravel and mulch turned this eye sore into a welcome focal point.

An unfinished, unused space is now a favorite spot! A gym, pool table gaming area and a counter for sitting at while playing pool. Custom recessed niches were built to handle the slim weights and accessories. Focal point for this space is the custom moto gear closet and helmet niche! Diamond plate back wall, LED lights and glass doors are the WOW when you enter!

This backyard used to be a steeply sloped forest of unusable space. We removed some of the trees and then installed the pool into the existing slope. We re-graded around the pool, creating several new living spaces and a new lawn area.

This remodel was huge, a whole first floor. It included blowing out a wall in the kitchen which led to a really unused room but one that had the most light of the home. Incorporating that into the kitchen space gave my clients a huge kitchen with a designated sitting area and also a casual eating space too. New lighting added to the ambience of the space, as well as plenty of room for entertaining. The new space is completely different from before, the clients love it..as well as all of their friends they entertain!

This remodel consisted of a master bath as well as a hall bathroom renovation. For the master bath, we removed the existing large, unused garden tub, and went back in with a new, sleek, pedestal tub from Fluerco. The shower remained in the same location for both bathrooms but received updates such as niches, pie shelves, tile work, and fixtures. The master bath was converted into a luxurious and spacious space, with tons of storage including a coordinating cabinetry linen closet and a towel unit. The hall bathroom became an elegant space, with soft textures and colors, creating a truly stunning new space.

A referral from Facebook Group, these clients were on a timeline to get into their newly purchased home that needed a whole lot of updating! We first tackled their flooring and stair railing, so they could move in. We then got to work on their owner's suite bathroom, which had a lot of unused space and outdated finishes. A few of the things we changed: we turned a built in tub to a freestanding, changed the orientation of the shower and made it larger, and swamped out a built in vanity for a freestanding furniture vanity.

This Jefferson Avenue basement remodel strikes the perfect balance between comfort and utility. A once-unused lower level is now a warm, welcoming space that includes a media lounge, light-filled sitting area, full bathroom, and custom wet bar. The bar features natural maple cabinetry, a bold glass tile backsplash, and hidden storage designed for everyday ease. Wide-plank flooring and soft blue walls create cohesion, while the open ceiling—painted for a clean, modern-industrial look—adds visual height. Every design detail was chosen to make this space feel bright, connected, and ready for daily living or casual entertaining.

We took a long time to decide on our final design but Kerry and his design team were patient and respectful and waited until we were ready to move forward. There was never a sense of being pushed into anything we didn’t like. They listened, carefully considered our requests and delivered an awesome plan for our new bathroom. Kerry also broke down everything so that we could consider several alternatives for features and finishes and was mindful to stay within our budget. He accommodated some on-the-fly changes, after construction was underway and suggested effective solutions for any unforeseen problems that arose. Having construction done in close proximity to our master bedroom was a challenge but the excellent crew TaylorPro had on our job made it relatively painless: courteous and polite, arrived on time daily, worked hard, pretty much nonstop and cleaned up every day before leaving. This Carlsbad couple yearned for a generous master bath that included a big soaking tub, double vanity, water closet, large walk-in shower, and walk in closet. Unfortunately, their current master bathroom was only 6'x12'. Our design team went to work and came up with a solution to push the back wall into an unused 2nd floor vaulted space in the garage, and further expand the new master bath footprint into two existing closet areas. These inventive expansions made it possible for their luxurious master bath dreams to come true. Basically designed by the homeowner with my input, this built-in storage unit maximizes the use of previously nearly-unused space in a wide hallway. The tricky part was building around the existing off-centered window. It is 18" deep, so lot's of space for clothes (master closet is across the hall) or whatever. Includes interior shutters that can either completely block off sunlight or the tops open for let light in but maintain privacy.

Originally built in 1859 by Justice William J. Robertson and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, this home has elements of both the Italianate and Gothic Revival styles which were taken into consideration during the design process. The project consisted of three main components: a basement renovation, a new screened in porch and a new two car garage. For the basement renovation we removed the original brick floor which was causing moisture issues and replaced them with an insulated, colored concrete slab. The end result: a previously unusable space was transformed into a family room with a complete guest suite and an exercise room. In the guest bedroom, low ceilings due to existing duct work were strategically wrapped with stained pine tongue and groove creating a cozy sleeping nook. In the bathroom, subway tiles and lightly stained wood are the background to a livelier tile accent in the shower and around the vanity. The family room features floor to ceiling millwork piece that has several storage cubbies; some with doors to conceal and others open for display. The screened porch is located at the back of the house overlooking a new stone patio at the lower level yard. The new porch takes cues from the existing sun room by matching materials, colors, and proportion. The new porch off the living room allows the clients to sit and relax while staying close to their children when inside or playing in the yard. The garage was built using the same material palette and style of the house but set back so as to not to detract from the main house. With large sliding barn doors on the back, it opens up to a manicured lawn allowing the garage to double as a pavilion for outdoor entertaining and yard parties. While the root of the scope stayed the same - open the kitchen to the dining and living rooms - this project grew into so much more than just reconfiguring spaces. The design team loved the creativity that comes from working with a trusting client and our opportunity to flex our design muscles in the mid century category. The goal was to not be literal with the design style, but to be respectful of the home’s original architecture and features while making it decidedly Pacific Northwest by letting it’s setting in the trees really shine! We doubled the size of the kitchen, taking over an unused second eat-in space that sat immediately next to the homes dining room. We opened the walls between the dining/kitchen/and hallway creating an expansive open feel. Step in pantry closet that was lacking in efficiency and took up precious walk-way space was removed in favor of a custom pantry cabinet with roll-out shelves for easy use. The custom walnut stair railing is a welcomed greeting near the front door and ties all of the spaces together.
