A pool oasis merging the natural look of boulders, a stream, waterfalls, and ample plantings with a comfortable, resort-like feel. Transformed a sloped back yard into a useable, enjoyable space.

By organizing the garage, we created additional square footage of useable space. The garage became an extension of the basement, where the client can enjoy working on projects, work-out in the home gym, while having space for additional storage. Having a clearly labeled system ensures that the client is set up for success in staying organized.

Dwarf fruit trees line the back yard behind the small warm season lawn. This lawn provides space for the young children to play. The footprint of this lawn has been reduced by at least 75%.

The Lee's requested a small intimate Japanese-style garden with a small bubbling fountain for after-hours relaxation and quiet. We designed a sitting patio and enclosing plantings, centered around the fountain. A low retaining wall created a useable level space and enabled good site drainage. photos by Don Andberg

Three Season - To save on the budget, a Three Seasons sunrooms installed by Carolina Home Exteriors, in our temperate climate, can be a real bargain. Useable in all but the coldest months (or weeks) of the year, a Three Seasons sunroom has many of the features you’d expect: guaranteed workmanship and materials, expert design, functionality, and a way to enjoy the outdoors, with all the comforts of the indoors. Useable, functional and efficient on all but the coldest days of the winter, a Three Seasons sunroom is a popular choice for Carolinians living along the coast. Generally single-pane tempered glass is used, which saves considerably, and an optional HVAC unit can be incorporated for quick cooling and fast heating, when necessary. In more extreme climates, further north and further south, Four Seasons sunrooms are the norm, but here in the temperate coastal region many find a Three Seasons Sunroom is the perfect mix of functionality and cost-efficiency.

Empty and open front patio was transformed into a private Asian themed area for yoga, relaxing and entertaining. Koi fish and fire pit add to the serene feeling of the space which now is practically an additional room, adding useable square footage to the house.

A central focal point is the new gas fireplace which is stone clad and wraps into a walnut bookcase which then turns into the stair railing. High ceilings and medium tone oak flooring compliments the cedar planks of the vaulted ceiling.
