Drip irrigation using either Dura-Flo Jr. ¼" dripperline or Dig ¼" dripline with 6" spacing to irrigate the 8' x 4' raised vegetable beds. I have had the best success with this type of irrigation in my vegetable bed installations. Works for small plants like lettuces and tomatoes as well.

These four custom cedar raised beds were constructed at the Seattle Urban Farm Co headquarters and delivered, fully assembled, to the clients rooftop deck. Each of the four raised beds include a cold frame structure that sits 2ʼ above the raised bed with interchangeable south-angled panels: greenhouse paneling for winter and shade cloth covering for summer. This addition to the raised beds will allow the client to continue growing crops throughout the year in the unique microclimate of a roof, protecting crops from excess heat, cold, and wind. This project was an exploration in taking and urban corner lot and transforming it into and urban farm of sorts. The project incorporated rainwater tanks, raised vegetable beds, fruit trees, chicken coop, prefab studio, composite deck, poured in place concrete, pre-cast concrete, custom wood features, a green wall, custom bench/fountain, lighting, swimming pool with solar hot water heating, an outdoor kitchen, drip irrigation which is controlled by smart phone, landscape lighting which can be controlled by smart phone. A fun project where we melded contemporary elements with sustainable/ self sufficient principles.
