Custom features of the kitchen include large eat- in island, cloud above island with pendant lighting and stainless steel vent-a- hood, ship lap, cedar timber, new hardwood flooring, ceramic tile backsplash, Cambria countertops, white painted cabinets and recessed lighting which illuminates the whole room.

Dove white cabinets perimeter with warm gray and black accents are tied in with the traditional and rustic ambiance in the rest of the home. The new large island will hold the kitchen sink while guests can sit on the other end and enjoy the views. The range and hood are now a focal point between the exterior windows. Barn doors were be added to the newly enlarged opening to the dining room.

This white-on-white kitchen design has a transitional style and incorporates beautiful clean lines. It features a Personal Paint Match finish on the Kitchen Island matched to Sherwin-Williams "Threshold Taupe" SW7501 and a mix of light tan paint and vibrant orange décor. These colors really pop out on the “white canvas” of this design. The designer chose a beautiful combination of white Dura Supreme cabinetry (in "Classic White" paint), white subway tile backsplash, white countertops, white trim, and a white sink. The built-in breakfast nook (L-shaped banquette bench seating) attached to the kitchen island was the perfect choice to give this kitchen seating for entertaining and a kitchen island that will still have free counter space while the homeowner entertains. This Award-winning kitchen proves vintage doesn't have to look old and tired. This previously dark kitchen was updated with white, gold, and wood in the historic district of Monte Vista. The challenge is making a new kitchen look and feel like it belongs in a charming older home. The highlight and starting point is the original hex tile flooring in white and gold. It was in excellent condition and merely needed a good cleaning. The addition of white calacatta marble, white subway tile, walnut wood counters, brass and gold accents keep the charm intact. Cabinet panels mimic original door panels found in other areas of the home. Custom coffee storage is a modern bonus! 30" Sub-Zero Refrig, Rohl sink.
