The fireplace in this 19th century farmhouse has been brought back to use with the addition of a Valor Legend G3 gas insert. To keep the brick arch visible, especially since its design is mirrored in the custom mantel, we cut the trim panels to fit the arch and recessed them into the opening. The Valor Windsor Arch fireplace insert is surrounded with North Prairie custom-made ceramic tile to complete this update of a Victorian era living room. The tiles, including the corner arches which are glazed in metallic to match the iron, were sized to provide a clean design around this vintage insert. North Prairie Tileworks

This four-story Victorian revival was amazing to see unfold; from replacing the foundation, building out the 1st floor, hoisting structural steel into place, and upgrading to in-floor radiant heat. This gorgeous “Old Lady” got all the bells and whistles. This quintessential Victorian presented itself with all the complications imaginable when bringing an early 1900’s home back to life. Our favorite task? The Custom woodwork: hand carving and installing over 200 florets to match historical home details. Anyone would be hard-pressed to see the transitions from existing to new, but we invite you to come and try for yourselves!
