This Guest Bedroom / Bathroom found inspiration in white! by repainting the existing brown paneling with glossy white we created a fresh and airy space. Unusually scaled twin beds, float in the center of the room allowing a unique spot for conversation as well as sleeping. SUBU Design Architecture was brought in to reimagine the space along with a team of professionals. Through a collective effort, this unique structure has been reorganize to fit a variety of lifestyles and commercial needs.

This is a guest bathroom in my personal residence. The previous bathroom has a fiberglass tub/shower combo where the existing shower is at currently. This room is located in a daylight basement with no natural light. My design goal to to create a timeless space where guests would feel welcomed and comfortable while also improving my property for my own use. I added three LED recessed lights (the one in the shower is on its own switch), an additional light source over the second sink, caesarstone rosemary countertops, bamboo cabinets, and a 24x12 tile was used on the floor and shower walls. I used all polished chrome fixtures as well as a square shower drain.

A view of the master bathroom that showcases the mister's side of the bathroom. The spacious onyx countertops have portions on both sides that reflect the colors of the sky coming through the expansive window, making them radiate. Both his and her sides are outfitted with ample storage space in the custom cabinets below. Brushed nickel hardware and fixtures unify the brushed nickel accents in the custom shower tile design and the embroidery on the towels. LED strips mounted directly on the mirrors as well as recessed ceiling lights and a barely seen (in this photo) central chandelier provide ample and equal light throughout this bathroom. A pop of bright red flowers in the corner draws the eye around the room to the view beyond, which, given the view, is certainly something else in the room to delight in!

The bathroom was widened by 1 foot to accommodate the new layout which includes a larger vanity and frameless glass shower stall. This increased the usable physical space and made it a brighter more appealing visual space. James C Schell jim@jcschell.com

Inspiration for a coastal freestanding bathtub remodel in Providence with recessed-panel cabinets, white cabinets and gray walls

This remodel consisted of a whole house transformation. We took this 3 bedroom dated home and turned it into a 5 bedroom award winning showpiece, all without an addition. By reworking the awkward floor plan and lowering the living room floor to be level with the rest of the house we were able to create additional space within the existing footprint of the home. What was once the small lack-luster master suite, is now 2 kids bedrooms that share a jack and jill bath. The master suite was relocated to the first floor, and the kitchen that was located right at the front door, is now located in the back of the home with great access to the patio overlooking the golf course.
