This is a Custom Designed and built 3 season room! Our clients wanted something cozy with lots of windows and made out of cedar for the inside. Where their kids could play in the winter and feel like they are outside but not cold and in the summer could take a break and keep cool inside but not all the way. Also a place where mom and dad could sit and relax and watch their children play outside along with a place for guest to enjoy when having them over.

My client had told me that he saw the driveway as almost a continuation of the lines from the trees. Complete with moon I really liked the simplicity of this image. Alexander Design Studio

Inspiration for a large traditional partial sun backyard formal garden in New York.

Location: Hingham, MA, USA
This newly constructed home in Hingham, MA was designed to openly embrace the seashore landscape surrounding it. The front entrance has a relaxed elegance with a classic plant theme of boxwood, hydrangea and grasses. The back opens to beautiful views of the harbor, with a terraced patio running the length of the house. The infinity pool blends seamlessly with the water landscape and splashes over the wall into the weir below. Planting beds break up the expanse of paving and soften the outdoor living spaces. The sculpture, made by a personal friend of the family, creates a stunning focal point with the open sky and sea behind.
One side of the property was densely planted with large Spruce, Juniper and Birch on top of a 7' berm to provide instant privacy. Hokonechloa grass weaves its way around Annabelle Hydrangeas and Flower Carpet Roses. The other side had an existing stone stairway which was enhanced with a grove of Birch, hydrangea and Hakone grass. The Limelight Tree Hydrangeas and Boxwood offer a fresh welcome, while the Miscanthus grasses add a casual touch. The Stone wall and patio create a resting spot between rounds of tennis. The granite steps in the lawn allow for a comfortable transition up a steeper slope.

A functional herb garden created with floating planters, framed with a gorgeous lime plant in a blue planter and lime green accent table.

Slowly forms a dense dome 2 to 3 ft. tall, slightly wider; 4 to 8 ft. tall with age. Partial to full sun. A superb selection that retains a neat, dense mound with little care. Enjoy as a single specimen or group as a filler. Fine-textured foliage breaks up the bold effects of large-leaved plants. Foliage becomes rusty red in winter. Evergreen.

Native Coneflower and Monarda have grown & spread to fill this front yard planting bed. Over 14 years, this bed has expanded to replace a large area of Bermuda grass that I hand dug to remove this difficult creeping grass. Plant density is key to weed control, as there is just little space for them to get started. Less maintenance than lawn, no watering needed, no chemicals, plus I leave the plants to over winter leaving the seed heads for the birds to enjoy. Just break down the plant stems late February to make a light mulch.

Overview of new bathroom addition. Heated floors in the bathroom are an essential for the homeowner during cold Minnesota winters. Adding this bathroom to the second floor of this 1 1/2 story house eliminates the need for late night trips downstairs in the dark for bathroom breaks. The green accent wall tile is repeated in a "rug" detail in the shower floor.

This modern home with a bold, cubic structure, nestled in a serene winter environment. The juxtaposition of the home's concrete and dark-paneled facades creates a unique visual appeal against the softness of the snow-covered surroundings. Expansive glass windows break the solidity of the design, allowing a glimpse of the warm interior and connecting the space with the natural setting outside.

This seating area is design on a "three season porch". This was a very affordable design. We used items from Target and TJMaxx to accessorize. We added a white tray top to the pedestal to create another table. The ottomans are actually wicker baskets that are turned upside down.
