German Embassy in Pristina - Kosovo, contracted the architecture office “Ferizi + Ferizi Architects” to plan and implement an Annex Office building for their purposes. As detached part of this building is designed the waiting area, as alone standing structure. This Office Building is constructed by assembling of Eight used office containers that were delivered on trucks and set up after only a few hours on the basis of the LEGO principle, according to the planning on strip foundations. By removing the flexible exterior wall panels, a large room of 115 m² was created, with the counter wall as a room partition between two office spaces, each with seven workstations as well as three counters for agents on one side and a room for visitors on the other side. With this system, room solutions can be easily implemented in all dimensions. The container, seen as a geometric shape, is a simple, octagonal, solid box. The standardized perfection of its dimensions is striking: 2.44 meters wide, 2.59 meters high and 6.06 meters or 12.19 meters long. Since its introduction in 1956 by the American transport entrepreneur Malcom McLean, the container has become a standardized transport module worldwide, whether on ships, trucks or construction sites. The shipping containers have additionally revolutionized the transport industry, pushed the globalization noticeably, and thus directly or indirectly influenced all our lives. But after only a few years, when the first overseas containers wore out, many engineers recognized the positive properties of used shipping containers for building houses, especially since they are robust, flexible, multifunctional and second-hand relatively inexpensive to purchase. The time has long passed by to treat containers exclusively as transport objects. As a "measure of all things", containers can hardly be ignored in construction. Their use is no longer limited to temporary use since school containers, information containers, office containers or entire residential buildings are now part of our everyday life in the construction industry. However, current examples of the container architecture prove that even the most demanding solutions for container building are feasible. For their specific aesthetic and spatial qualities, containers also serve as design parameters for the development of new forms of architecture and urbanity. The office building as an extension of the visa section, characterized by modern materials and contemporary aesthetics has been designed and built mainly as a low-energy building. Extensive insulation to achieve a comfortable and sustainable constant temperature in the interior, high window quality and low energy consumption make the building energy-efficient. The sophisticated lighting technology, networks, heating systems and air-conditioning systems are also components of this equipment. It creates an overall harmonic picture and guarantees the highest standard in sustainable construction, taking into consideration the fact that environmentally friendly recycling and reutilization have become an increasingly important issue in our society. West and East side of the wooden facade is compact and has few openings, while the southern facade is completely open with lot of glass. Its spatial openness ensures a transparent, friendly work environment, which allows a lot of light into the space. This openness allows an uninterrupted, pleasant and close-to-nature view from interior spaces into the beautiful garden. During the installation of sophisticated light sources in the garden, emphasis was not only put on functionality and security, but also on the beauty of the garden shown through the illumination in the evening. Large, horizontal white “brisole” serve as external sun protection systems, mounted on the canopies of the entrance areas of the modular construction and the enclosure, adeptly cast shade on these areas and at the same time shape the entire architectural language. While on one hand, the two quadratic ledges suspended in the air, are docked with steel stairs and match the wooden façade, lead the staff to their office space, the artful modern interior, on the other hand, perfectly unites the functionality, innovative technology, culture and positive effects on the employees' efficiency and wellbeing. A lot of white, interjected by warm wooden and colored accents, determines the ambience. In the case of the lighting solution, the mainly linear ceiling lighting is used as the overlapping design element both for the offices of the visa section as well as for the counters and the waiting area for the visitors. They underline the puristic design in order to create a pleasant light for a desired general illumination and ensure optimal light conditions without causing disturbing reflections on the computer screens. In addition, precisely positioned pendant luminaires are installed at the workstations, which ensure pleasant room brightness. In the entrance area, the harmonic and uniform lighting effect from the ground highlights the integration of photography and architecture. Photographs of landscapes, people, places, expressing unforgettable, impressive moments and memories have been lovingly engraved on 8 x 8cm square oak blocks. The idea of an effective, impressive environment that stimulates and inspires the work was the premiss on which the whole design concept was based. Consequently, the modular construction was no longer viewed through its history of utilization and scars, but rather as a structure of work ambiance, art and elegance. This versatile kitchen design offers plenty of space for food storage, cooking, dining, and socializing. The island includes a Galley Workstation 3' undermount sink with the Signature Accessory package. The white perimeter kitchen cabinets are contrasted by the peppercorn stained island and wine bar cabinetry, all topped with a granite countertop. Inside the cabinetry is an array of storage accessories, including roll out shelves, a peg storage system, and tray dividers. The mosaic calacatta backsplash is offset by a Lacy Flowers mosaic tile feature, and everything is illuminated by a well-planned lighting design.

The newly remodeled kitchen creates a better workflow for a family of five. Now updated this kitchen is brighter with the focus on function. To eliminate clutter and create a workstation, the new design expanded the pantry from a single door to a double door walk-in pantry, a command center for schedules and communication, as well as plenty of storage for canned goods and groceries. Now everything can be tucked away behind closed doors, but is still easily accessible and well organized.

This contemporary kitchen design is a dream come true, full of stylish, practical, and one-of-a-kind features. The large kitchen is part of a great room that includes a living area with built in display shelves for artwork. The kitchen features two separate islands, one for entertaining and one for casual dining and food preparation. A 5' Galley Workstation, pop up knife block, and specialized storage accessories complete one island, along with the fabric wrapped banquette and personalized stainless steel corner wrap designed by Woodmaster Kitchens. The second island includes seating and an undercounter refrigerator allowing guests easy access to beverages. The owners of a charming home in the hills west of Paso Robles recently decided to remodel their not-so-charming kitchen. Referred to San Luis Kitchen by several of their friends, the homeowners visited our showroom and soon decided we were the best people to design a kitchen fitting the style of their home. We were delighted to get to work on the project right away. When we arrived at the house, we found a small, cramped and out-dated kitchen. The ceiling was low, the cabinets old fashioned and painted a stark dead white, and the best view in the house was neglected in a seldom-used breakfast nook (sequestered behind the kitchen peninsula). This kitchen was also handicapped by white tile counters with dark grout, odd-sized and cluttered cabinets, and small ‘desk’ tacked on to the side of the oven cabinet. Due to a marked lack of counter space & inadequate storage the homeowner had resorted to keeping her small appliances on a little cart parked in the corner and the garbage was just sitting by the wall in full view of everything! On the plus side, the kitchen opened into a nice dining room and had beautiful saltillo tile floors. Mrs. Homeowner loves to entertain and often hosts dinner parties for her friends. She enjoys visiting with her guests in the kitchen while putting the finishing touches on the evening’s meal. Sadly, her small kitchen really limited her interactions with her guests – she often felt left out of the mix at her own parties! This savvy homeowner dreamed big – a new kitchen that would accommodate multiple workstations, have space for guests to gather but not be in the way, and maybe a prettier transition from the kitchen to the dining (wine service area or hutch?) – while managing the remodel budget by reusing some of her major appliances and keeping (patching as needed) her existing floors. Responding to the homeowner’s stated wish list and the opportunities presented by the home's setting and existing architecture, the designers at San Luis Kitchen decided to expand the kitchen into the breakfast nook using Wood-Mode cabinetry. This change allowed the work area to be reoriented to take advantage of the great view – we replaced the existing window and added another while moving the door to gain space. A second sink and set of refrigerator drawers (housing fresh fruits & veggies) were included for the convenience of this mainly vegetarian cook – her prep station. The clean-up area now boasts a farmhouse style single bowl sink – adding to the ‘cottage’ charm. We located a new gas cook-top between the two workstations for easy access from each. Also tucked in here is a pullout trash/recycle cabinet for convenience and additional drawers for storage. Running parallel to the work counter we added a long butcher-block island with easy-to-access open shelves for the avid cook and seating for friendly guests placed just right to take in the view. A counter-top garage is used to hide excess small appliances. Glass door cabinets and open shelves are now available to display the owners beautiful dishware. The microwave was placed inconspicuously on the end of the island facing the refrigerator – easy access for guests (and extraneous family members) to help themselves to drinks and snacks while staying out of the cook’s way. We also moved the pantry storage away from the dining room (putting it on the far wall and closer to the work triangle) and added a furniture-like hutch in its place allowing the more formal dining area to flow seamlessly into the up-beat work area of the kitchen. This space is now also home (opposite wall) to an under counter wine refrigerator, a liquor cabinet and pretty glass door wall cabinet for stemware storage – meeting Mr. Homeowner’s desire for a bar service area. And then the aesthetic: an old-world style country cottage theme. The homeowners wanted the kitchen to have a warm feel while still loving the look of white cabinetry. San Luis Kitchen melded country-casual knotty pine base cabinets with vintage hand-brushed creamy white wall cabinets to create the desired cottage look. We also added bead board and mullioned glass doors for charm, used an inset doorstyle on the cabinets for authenticity, and mixed stone and wood counters to create an eclectic nuance in the space. All in all, the happy homeowners now boast a charming county cottage kitchen with plenty of space for entertaining their guests while creating gourmet meals to feed them.

This beautiful transitional kitchen features Arctic White shaker door style cabinets with slabs drawers covered with a quartz countertop. The peninsula includes the functional 5' Galley Workstation that is perfect for prep, cooking, and entertaining. The client wanted both induction and gas cooking, so we paired two 15" Wolf induction and gas cooktops together that is located close to the Galley Workstation for easy food prep and cooking. Also included is a clean-up sink with dishwasher and ice maker located close by. A beverage area with wine refrigerator for entertaining opened area between kitchen and living area was added, which changed the flow and function in the home drastically. Also included in this kitchen is a Bosch integrated refrigerator, Bosch microwave, Bosch oven, KitchenAid ice maker, and custom designed and built stainless drawers below the Wolf induction and gas cooktops.

Stunning transitional family home with mid-century modern elements. This home was completely re-envisioned for a more functional and streamlined layout allowing for an open concept Great Room including Kitchen, Bar Area, Dining and Living Space. This bright kitchen with tons of natural light boasts Signature Custom Cabinetry throughout along with The Galley Workstation for ease in food prep and entertaining. The beautiful countertops are Ella Luxury Slab by Cambria through Apex, with Moby Pendants by Stone Lighting for Island lighting creating a gorgeous kitchen statement. This home boasts a spa-like master bathroom retreat with Calacata Porcelanosa slab and freestanding tub enclosed within the shower area. The Mudroom and Laundry room space create a perfect landing area for this growing family to keep things organized and clean.

We completely flipped the kitchen layout, removed walls and added a steel beam, as well as footings and columns in the garage to support the new structural load. The new layout is open, filled with natural light and has; incredible cabinet storage, a dream pantry with glass pocket doors, a computer workstation, subway tile backsplash, as well as new windows, doors, flooring and lighting. This first floor remodel also included wainscoting throughout and a guest bathroom.

This transitional bright south Tulsa kitchen features two islands. The first is the homeowner's cooking centric island housing an induction cooktop below a stainless professional vent hood, the super-functional Galley Workstation with plenty of base cabinet storage below, round seating area on one side with a waterfall edge counter on the other. The second smaller island features glass front base cabinets for storing plates and glassware on one side and bar sink, under-counter beverage refrigerator and base storage on the other. The natural wood flooring offsets the bright cabinets perfectly. The professional stainless steel appliances housed in both tall storage and base storage (which include but are not limited to a Sub-Zero side-by-side freezer and refrigerator and Bosch dishwasher on one side of the clean-up sink with Bosch under-counter drawer microwave joining the Bosch double ovens on the other). The combination of tall pantry storage, standard wall cabinets and glass front counter-top height cabinets add the perfect extra storage touch to a kitchen already loaded with storage options. The layout of this kitchen is both functional and beautiful. With the super cool Beatles artwork on the walls, we simply had to call this kitchen we designed, 'Beautiful Rock Star'!

A celebration of lightness and height. This sophisticated kitchen remodel brings the beautiful outdoors inside in the most modern way with its subtle combination of shades and textures. Light travertine tile floors and warm white walls create a soft background for the linear pattern Cypress cabinets that run the perimeter and extend to the highest point of the sloped ceiling.
