This project was a special one for us. We had the pleasure of working with a lovely retired couple in their early 70s who were returning clients! It's always a testament to our work when clients come back for more. This time, they were ready to tackle a full bathroom and basement renovation to truly make their Mississauga home a haven for their golden years. Before: Outdated and Cramped Both bathrooms were stuck in a time warp, sporting outdated fixtures and cramped layouts. Limited storage and bulky linen towers that blocked natural light added to the feeling of confinement. Downstairs, the basement was a sea of belongings with only one closet for storage. Peeling linoleum tiles and remnants of an acoustic ceiling definitely didn't create an inviting atmosphere. "You only do this once in a lifetime.” That’s what this homeowner told our team about their historic brownstone renovation in downtown Jersey City, and we took it to heart. This project was more than just a renovation; it was also an act of great creativity and care. After all, when you do something once in a lifetime, you want to do it right. We were fortunate to work with a homeowner with a clear, precise vision. Prior to hiring us, the homeowner partnered with an architect to design the space. As such, we handled the project management and practical implementation of the plans. (We also ensured that the work met the requirements of the Jersey City Historic Preservation Board.) This extensive remodel included demolition and rebuilding of a one-story addition in preparation for the installation of a new, modern kitchen. After replacing the original load-bearing brick wall with a steel header, we also leveled the floors and added new engineered hardwood flooring with hydronic radiant underfloor heating for chilly winter days. A completely redone lighting and electrical plan included LED recessed light fixtures, recessed speakers, and motorized transom windows … perfect for letting in some fresh air to compliment the gorgeous natural light streaming in from the skylights. The finished space juxtaposes sleek, ultramodern European appliances, finishes, cabinetry, and fixtures with original, historic woodwork. We completed a new, modern powder room installation and also installed historic door casings, baseboard mouldings, and plaster mouldings. Maggie Walker of Reico Kitchen and Bath in Frederick, MD, in collaboration with Tri State Home Improvement, designed multiple rooms for this project. This remodel included the kitchen, pantry, mudroom and laundry room, highlighting a transitional design style and featuring both Green Forest Cabinetry and Masterpiece Cabinetry. The kitchen, mudroom and laundry room feature Green Forest Cabinetry in the Park Place door style with an Espresso finish. The pantry showcases Masterpiece cabinets in the Turner door style in Maple with a Peppercorn finish. The kitchen also includes MSI Q Peppercorn White countertops, while the pantry and laundry room feature Colonial White granite countertops. Despite the challenges of being without a kitchen sink, laundry machines and undergoing the installation of new flooring, the clients expressed that the remodeling process was worthwhile, with beautiful results. “The best advice Maggie gave was to take our time. We had never done a renovation or remodel and this was massive to us. She gave us time to sit with our choice and make changes. The size is the best part of the new kitchen. Robin Stancliff photo credits.My goal with this project was to create a glamorous, luxurious bathroom with plenty of space and a Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic. My client felt as though her old bathroom was constantly cluttered and filled with wasted space. As a dancer, she wanted her bathroom to be a place where she could prepare for her performances, and also relax and unwind after her performances. Since she never used her tub, I removed it and expanded the shower, providing an extra foot of shower space. Because she loves the travertine floor that was already in the bathroom, I found a porcelain look- alike to include in the shower, and for the shower bench. The original travertine in the bathroom was impossible to find, but locating the porcelain look-alike was a worthwhile challenge which resulted in a budget-friendly shower that is beautiful and easy to clean at the same time. This remodeled bathroom also includes open shelving to display artwork and store items, as well as a special vanity designed with makeup application in mind. The height of the vanity was increased to executive height, adding custom convenience for the client. I also increased lighting throughout the bathroom, replacing the original lighting with LED, and adding light into the center tower of the vanity as well as the display shelving. The new design of the vanity added extra space for storing makeup and toiletries to reduce clutter, and it also helped my client ergonomically. By blending unique textures and warm colors, I was able to create a gorgeous bathroom evocative of a Tuscan home with a spa-like feel.

We used old tiles which we found in the garden to guard the renovated house against the evil eye….. 4. Treat at least part of the garden as you would treat a room inside the house a room wth a floor, ceiling, walls, furniture. This is especially true for gardens in countries like Israel, where gardens can be used almost all the time 5. Even narrow side paths and akward corners can become worthwhile outdoor spaces if you treat them well! Add benches, plants, beautiful floors and furniture and make them part of your home design. With the help of beautiful furniture and a large flowerpot, we created a small outdoor "living room" between different levels of the garden: 6. All Weather teamed up with the Property Brothers and Queen of Broadway Idina Menzel on this week’s episode of HGTV’s hit show CELEBRTIY IOU. In the Idina Menzel’s Slam Dunk Reno episode, Idina pivots from her award-winning stage, film and music success to give back and surprise her good friend and son’s basketball coach James, by transforming his detached garage into a dedicated office and athletic retreat. James Hunt founded Culture Run, a youth basketball program that gives kids the skills to succeed in both basketball and life. With IDINA MENZEL’S surprise renovation, James is one step closer to running a centralized training facility and headquarters where kids can drop by for counseling, basketball tips, and more. When the PROPERTY BROTHERS meet up with Idina to demo the garage, they involve her in every step. Menzel gets her hands dirty by swinging a sledgehammer, operating an electric hand saw and removing storage bins. “I didn’t know they get as down and dirty as they do,” Menzel commented. “I also didn’t know they were gonna have me do so much!” Menzel also helped choose the tile, cabinets, hardware, flooring and the overall color palette.
