With Craftsman details throughout the rest of the home, our clients wanted their new kitchen to have transitional elements such as Shaker style doors, a farmhouse sink, warm wood tones, and other timeless features such as a custom hood and natural stone counters. The beautiful Glorious White marble counters have a soft honed finish and the stunning marble backsplash ties everything together to complete the look. The two-toned cabinets pair a rich stained cherry island with soft white perimeter cabinets. Brushed brass accents on the appliances pulls, cabinet hardware, lights and plumbing fixtures add another layer of sophistication. An induction range, dishwasher drawers, undercounter microwave, and four-door smart refrigerator amp up the functionality of this cook’s kitchen.

An open living room removes barriers within the house so you can all be together, even when you're apart. We partnered with Jennifer Allison Design on this project. The client wanted to create a traditional rustic design with clean lines and a feminine edge. She works from her home office, so she needed it to be functional and organized with elegant and timeless lines. In the kitchen, we removed the peninsula that separated it for the breakfast room and kitchen, to create better flow and unity throughout the space.

The focal point in the kitchen is the deep navy, French range positioned in an alcove trimmed in distressed natural wood and finished with handmade tile. The arched marble backsplash of the bar creates a dramatic focal point visible from the dining room.

Coming from Minnesota this couple already had an appreciation for a woodland retreat. Wanting to lay some roots in Sun Valley, Idaho, guided the incorporation of historic hewn, stone and stucco into this cozy home among a stand of aspens with its eye on the skiing and hiking of the surrounding mountains. "Everything in the informal dining space as well as the living room is new," Jennifer explains. "I changed it all; the walls used to be grey and the furniture used to be off white. I had antique chippy paint cabinets and all kinds of french decor ... I have evolved from that and now want simple, fun and bright." Starting with painting the walls white, Jennifer let the room evolve as she went. "Then I started to move the furniture around to see what I had, to make sure it worked," she describes. From there it became a process of eliminating and adding back in. The brass shelving was a "picking" find that Jennifer retrieved from the side of the road. By emphasizing the large windows with white drapery, and adding in soft textural elements, Jennifer created a fresh space that exudes depth and comfort. "I would never want anyone to ever come in and say they don't feel comfortable. I feel I have created that chic, fun, eclectic style space that anyone of any age can enjoy and feel comfortable in."
