Greg Hadley Photography The clients opted to use Ikea glossy white cabinets. Our crew assembled and installed the cabinetry on site. To provide an organic accent, we included walnut doors and open shelves. These pieces were purchased from a company that builds real wood veneer doors that fit over Ikea cabinet boxes. The island is sized to fit the space and provide adequate clearances around it for good traffic flow. The client requested the waterfall feature. The stone tops in the kitchen are Calacatta. Brass lamps above the sink (the original trim around the window was narrower, but once the client found these fixtures, we widened the trim to accommodate the lights.) Glass globe pendants. The owners of this traditional rambler in Reston wanted to open up their main living areas to create a more contemporary feel in their home. Walls were removed from the previously compartmentalized kitchen and living rooms. Ceilings were raised and kept intact by installing custom metal collar ties. Hickory cabinets were selected to provide a rustic vibe in the kitchen. Dark Silestone countertops with a leather finish create a harmonious connection with the contemporary family areas. A modern fireplace and gorgeous chrome chandelier are striking focal points against the cobalt blue accent walls.

This master bedroom features a neutral wall color called Tumbled Stone, accented with navy blue. Pendant lights frame the bed, and the large blue area rug adds warmth to the wood floor.

Entryway - eclectic brown floor entryway idea in Atlanta with a blue front door

The existing kitchen was completely remodeled to create a compact chef's kitchen. The client is a true chef, who teaches cooking classes, and we were able to get a professional grade kitchen in an 11x7 footprint! The new island creates adequate prep space. The bookcases on the front add a ton of storage and interesting display in an otherwise useless walkway. The South wall is the exposed brick original to the 1900's home. To compliment the brick, we chose a warm nutmeg stain in cherry cabinets. The countertops are a durable quartz that look like marble but are sturdy enough for this work horse kitchen.
