Tri-level aluminum deck with firetable. LED rope lighting was used under the handrails to provide ambient lighting. A cable railing system was installed to allow for a more broad visual sight line from any point on the deck. Location: Brooklyn, NY, United States This brand-new townhouse at Pierhouse, Brooklyn was a gorgeous space, but was crying out for some personalization to reflect our clients vivid, sophisticated and lively design aesthetic. Bold Patterns and Colors were our friends in this fun and eclectic project. Our amazing clients collaborated with us to select the fabrics for the den's custom Roche Bobois Mah Jong sofa and we also customized a vintage swedish rug from Doris Leslie Blau. for the Living Room Our biggest challenge was to capture the space under the Staircase so that it would become usable for this family. We created cubby storage, a desk area, coat closet and oversized storage. We even managed to fit in a 12' ladder - not an easy feat! Photographed by: James Salomon

Our customers existing pool is now complimented by a stamped patio area with a fire pit, an open deck area with composite decking, and an under deck area with a fireplace and beverage area. Having an outdoor living area like this one allows for plenty of space for entertaining and relaxing!

This large deck was built in Holmdel, NJ. The flooring is Ipe hardwood. The rail is Azek brand synthetic railing system. The pergola is clear cedar that has been primed and painted. The columns are 10" square Permacast brand. The high underside of the deck is covered with solid Ipe skirting. This blocks the view of the deck under-structure from people enjoying the lower paver patio. Low voltage lights were added to the rail posts, in the pergola and in the stair risers. These lights add a nice ambiance to the deck, as well as safety.

This four bedroom beach house in Washington's South Sound is all about growing up near the water's edge during summer's freedom from school. The owner's childhood was spent in a small cabin on this site with her parents and siblings. Now married and with children of her own, it was time to savor those childhood memories and create new ones in a house designed for generations to come. At 3,200 square feet, including a whimsical Crow's Nest, the new summer cabin is much larger than the original cabin. The home is still about family and fun though. Above the 600 square foot water toys filled garage, there is a 500 square foot bunk room for friends and family. The bunk room is connected to the main house by an upper bridge where built-in storage frames a window seat overlooking the property. Throughout the home are playful details drawing from the waterfront locale. Paddles are integrated into the stair railing, engineered flooring with a weathered look, marine cleats as hardware, a boardwalk to the main entry, and nautical lighting are found throughout the house. Designed by BC&J Architecture.

Renovating a historic home comes with a little extra responsibility. We custom matched the stained cherry racking, door hardware, and all the details to blend this under the stairs wine cellar seamlessly into its circa-1900 farmhouse surrounds.
