CCM Architecture is truly Northwest in style and approach. Charles is a very personable, creative designer on both the micro and macro scale, and a 'Can Do' problem solver. He has a way of bringing in natural light and mixing mediums, particularly wood and metal, that gives a fresh, open, and sturdy feel to his work. I particularly enjoy working with an architect who designs and builds because he knows how to see through to the details that define completion.

Charles did a beautiful job on our remodel. He was great to work with and is an honest and reliable person. He designed a 1,400 square foot addition to our house, with the original house built in 1908. He was able to create an open design that blended the old with the new, and has been a perfect space for our family. Every time we leave town to go on vacation, I come home and notice how beautiful our home is, and how happy I am to be back. Charles designed this home with our family's needs and desires in mind, and after 10 years, it still is a perfect fit for us. Now that's great design.

We hired Charles Melon of CCM Architecture to look at our very dated house and help us determine whether the design we were interested in would actually work. We were referred to Charles from a neighbor for whom Charles had completed both an interior and exterior remodel. We loved his work and our neighbors loved working with him as both architect and general contractor. Charles served as architect and general contractor for us as well and we are extremely pleased with the results. Charles and CCM remodeled the entire upstairs portion of our 1500 sq ft home, which includes kitchen, bath, 2 bedrooms, livingroom, dining area and hallway. Old walls that formerly housed a small kitchen and separated an unused hall of doors from the rest of the house were removed, as well as the low ceiling, and an intrusive unused chimney, to completely open up the house. Charles worked largely with rich- grained wood (vg fir) and raw steel for much of the finishes on doors, windows, and new beam supports for the roof. Charles deftly handled all permitting with the city, the subcontractors, and even our lending bank. The process was pretty organic as Charles would accommodate requests from us on the fly. We maintain a good relationship with CCM and have recommended him to neighbors and friends. The entire process took 6 months (about 2 months longer than expected but this was largely due to unforeseen dealings with the bank). I would definitely work with Charles Mellon and CCM again.

We are thoroughly delighted at the outcome of our home. The design beautifully addressed the site constraints and created opportunities for custom details. The lines are clean and bold and the house is comfortable and easy to live in. We love our home!

Renovation design for our 1910 crumbling craftsman - updated the look while preserving craftsman character. Punched out the roofline to create a dramatic front porch that casts lighting into a beautiful cedar ceiling you can see from a block away. We have the most unique craftsman on the block that is both beautiful and functional. Highly recommend!!
