These are easily some of the most creative, easy to work with, and talented architects I know. I have had the pleasure of working with them on everything from small home details to big office space designs. They listen to what is needed and bring interesting ideas to the table. They always deliver on time and at a detail level that makes everyone's job easier. I have even had a cabinet shop reach out to thank them for being more detailed with better follow up then any architect they had ever worked with.

We have enjoyed working with Daren and Lisa on our long awaited kitchen remodel in our 1936 home. They have a unique collaborative style. They asked insightful questions to determine our needs and took the time to understand what was important to us. We found them to be informative and respectful as we went through the process of narrowing down the possibilities and exploring the options. It was helpful to have their expertise and knowledge on a variety of materials, vendors and sources. They presented three different plans for us to choose from and were conscious of our budget and wishes. Their knowledge of functionality, structure and design made our project come together in a way that blended all of our needs perfectly. Lisa and Daren are able to visualize space that real people not only live and work in, but dream of. Their aesthetic is contemporary through their use of a variety of materials. Yet, there combination of the vintage with the needs of a modern world is truly captivating. How important is the architect in the "I'm going to build a house from scratch and I have never done this before" process? VERY. I would say it's the most important decision you will make. My wife and I interviewed five architects/firms before choosing chadbourne + doss and during the interview process AND the building of our house we were struck by several things that set chadbourne + doss apart. - You get a team. It's almost like hiring two for the price of one. - They don't always agree. Which is good! If chadbourne + doss work it out, odds are super high you and your partner won't need to rehash this very same issue. That was the case with us most of the time. - Their attention to detail was incredible. Of course architects are supposed to listen but not all do. And not all actually take into account all that they hear. The design process started with an extensive survey that we each had to complete. Be honest - it will pay off in the end. - In addition to aesthetic options we were also offered budget options to spend more AND to spend less. They really have the customer's best interest and budget at heart. - At times during the construction process we needed an advocate and chadbourne + doss were exceptional in this role. I'm the kind of guy that begrudgingly spends money on any home improvement project (so many things to buy you did not think of!) or house purchasing endeavor (so many fees!) but I am happy with every dime we spent on chadbourne + doss. When you spend this much time working with people on a project that you are going to be intimately connected with for many years to come you want to have a good relationship with those people. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the relationship with, the service from, the value of and the quality of chadbourne + doss.

Great contemporary modern style. Very patient and organized. Good communication skill. We were demanding clients, but Lisa and Darren were able to satisfy our needs.
