Special Experience I knew about CCDB as far back as the '80's. I worked for a subcontractor who worked for them. CCDB was known for building quality custom homes. My wife and I were thoroughly involved in the building our home which we still live in. Then we were able to be hands on. Because of my job, we knew how to do many of the trade related tasks. We could self perform many things. After living in our home for 44 years, we wanted to remodel. Personal involvement was no longer an option. I contacted CCDB because of my prior knowledge of them. The first meeting we had with Chris Menning was impressive on many levels. Chris is a real pro measured by any metric. He has insight beyond his years. He has resources to draw from that seem to be limitless. Chris provided us with an initial design that was a great starting point. Chris connected my wife with a designer with the ability to transform thoughts to plans that provided needed clarity which was a big help to my wife and to me. Because of the careful planning, a difficult process became as seamless as possible. David Pavek, second generation owner, ran our job. Because David grew up in the business, he brings an experience level that is enviable and essential. Every subcontractor that works for CCDB enhances an owner's satisfaction. To me, satisfaction is best defined by meeting and exceeding expections. CCDB does this at every level. We are so happy we had an opportunity to work with them.

I recently had the pleasure of working with College City as they finished my basement, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results. The transformation from a dark, unfinished space into a fully functional, cozy and stylish living area exceeded my expectations. The design process was seamless working with Chris and Kali to create a multi-functional space that best suited my needs. Kali had a keen eye for style as we picked out the various flooring, cabinets, hardware etc. The construction process itself was smooth, with a timeline provided and consistent communication. I greatly appreciated the care the construction crew provided to make sure the work in the basement did not impact us as we utilized the main floor. All of the contractors were professional and did a quality job. When an issue or question arose, it was always answered and completed in a timely fashion. I absolutely LOVE how the finished basement turned out! It is definitely a space that I love spending time in with family and friends! I highly recommend College City as a company that has quality design and workmanship!!

My wife and I decided to remodel a ground floor bathroom so it would be age appropriate if we would ever have trouble going up stairs. We’ve never remodeled a bathroom before so we asked some of our friends and neighbors for recommendations. Much to our surprise, three of them recommended the same company, College City Design, Build and Remodel. We called them and Dale, one of the owners came out. He didn’t seem like a salesman. He wasn’t trying to get us to make a decision and sign a contract. Rather, it was quite the opposite. He asked questions, took a lot of notes and asked if we would like to have Rebecca, their Lead Design Consultant stop by and help us with some design ideas. She really had some great ones. Then she scheduled selection meetings for everything we were replacing and she was terrific. We met with other remodeling companies but they didn’t seem nearly as professional or as trustworthy. College City wasn’t the cheapest but we were more concerned with our new bathroom being functional for our needs and the quality of workmanship rather than entrusting our home to a company that we didn’t feel as comfortable working with or one that might not do things quite right just to give us a lower bid. We are delighted with our decision to select College City for a variety of reasons. Dale, the owner, kept each and every promise that he made. At first, my wife was concerned about dust but they did a great job of covering the floor leading to the bathroom and installed a floor to ceiling plastic cover around the work area. When they were done, they cleaned everything around the work area and it was spotless. Buzz, the Project Manager was better than we could have ever imagined and he’s really a good guy. If we had a question or concern, he was immediately responsive. Every facet of the job was done to our complete satisfaction and we will definitely use them again if we have another remodeling project.

College City designed and installed a new wet bar into our home which turned out beautifully! We are very pleased with how it turned out and are enjoying using it!

Had bathroom gut and redo along with all new main floor windows and extensive woodwork / flooring done in two bedrooms. The best value I found after vetting many design / build firms in the Twin Cities. Very responsive and able to meet changing needs. I plan to do more remodeling with them when COVID and its financial effects pass.

From start to finish and even beyond completion College City Design Build was great to work with. They helped us realize our vision for our smaller home and make a space that really works well and looks great. The care they put into design, product selection and construction really showed in the timeliness of the project and quality of the end result. The open communication, when unanticipated items were encountered made them easier to deal with and helped to build trust between us and them.

We worked with College City Design Build on a remodel of our kitchen. Our house is small and we were concerned our project wouldn't get the attention that their larger projects get. We were totally and completely wrong! We felt that we were the only clients College City had. Every phone call, text and email was answered promptly. The communication on this project was 100% perfect. We loved the whole process. Everything about it was ultra-professional. From Jeremy's initial visit to our selection process with Rebecca and through the construction stages, everything went smoothly. Both Jeremy and Rebecca listed to our ideas, gently led us down a better path when necessary and put together a project beyond our imaginations. Our project manager, Buzz, was so great at communicating with us, explaining anything we needed more information about and passing information along to the people working in our home. The people who worked in our home were professional, courteous and very clean. The project finished earlier than scheduled and came in just under the bid cost. And the "product" --- WOW! Just WOW!! We shared photos with friends and family throughout the process and it's fun to look back at the transformation. It is well constructed, beautiful and functional all at the same time. We are completely and totally satisfied with our new kitchen and can't begin to thank College City Design Build for making our lives so much better!

The design was fantastic and the work performed was excellent. When guests come over and see the finished remodel for the first time, I get the joy of reliving the "wow factor" through their eyes. It really is an uplifting feeling.

College City is fantastic! They remodeled our previous home and we were so happy with their service and quality that we came back to them to build our new house. The whole team is great to work with from planning & design to production & finishing. Rebecca has great cost efficient ideas, Chris was very thorough during the entire project and David made sure everything stayed on track & was done correctly.
