ADU Contractors Near Lakeville

“I highly recommend Trio Design and Build for any design or construction project – large or small. It was a pleasure to work with Adam and we would do so again. We bought a house in Minnetonka as a rental investment opportunity. The nightmare started a few months later during a storm when a neighbor’s huge oak tree fell and smashed the house. Many contractors came out to look and then declined to make a bid because it was clear the remodeling scope was extensive and would be a big project. The City of Minnetonka was also involved since the house was nonconforming on the lot and they wanted to see progress happening ASAP. And there were many insurance hoops to jump through since the house needed to be built back to current building codes. Basically the house was a total loss. It was clear from the beginning that Adam had the professionalism, expertise, and mindset to manage the project and bring it to completion. He went above and beyond navigating the entire project, patiently working with the insurance company to get us a settlement larger than I believe anyone else would have been able to negotiate, and deftly managing our expectations along the way. The entire floorplan was redone, and we enlarged the house. Adam had great architectural suggestions and his crew and subcontractors did excellent work. We are extremely pleased with the finished result and are grateful for Adam’s management of the project.”

“Bluestem completed a whole basement transformation (remodel) for me. After consulting other architects and contractors, they provided me with amazing design options within my budget. The results are fantastic and have changed the way I feel about my space. The Bluestem team and their partners were fantastic to work with. I worked from home (with two cats) and the team took care to make sure I had very minimal interruptions and mess. Each and every member of the Bluestem team has been fantastic! - All the carpenters were fantastic at their craft and enjoyable to have in my home each day. In fact, it felt like having handy friends coming in each day. - Stefanie, the designer was a joy to work with. She came in midway into the project and took little crumbs of thoughts I shared and turned them into a cohesive theme. Stefanie didn't miss a beat in turning the few unexpected impediments into opportunities - making the changes seem intentional. There were some staffing transitions during the project that caused some misalignment in our expectations and assumptions, but the team quickly worked to ensure that my needs were met. In fact, I always felt they were doing everything they could to make sure I was delighted. I would absolutely recommend Bluestem to others looking to do a small or large project.”

“We hired TreHus to remodel two bathrooms and two closet areas and we are extremely pleased with the result. Our concerns with hiring a contractor were: Our old bathrooms and closets really didn’t suit us in terms of how we wanted to use the space (the shower was too small, no shower in the master bath, etc.) so we really needed someone who give use what we needed without increasing the footprint of our house. We wanted someone who could keep to a schedule. We had to use our basement bathroom during construction, which was really inconvenient, so we didn’t want have unnecessary delays due to poor planning. We wanted high quality workmanship and finishes. We wanted someone who could guarantee their work and not leave us high and dry with unresolved issues.. We had never done a major remodeling project before so we really needed design help making all the decisions about plumbing fixtures, tile, paint, etc. We wanted the new bathrooms to be attractive, of course, but we also wanted everything to be functional and durable. I have to say TreHus exceeded my exceptions on all of the issues above. In the area that was remodeled, everything was taken down to the studs except for the plumbing stack and the new floor plan is brilliant. We have everything we wanted (including a huge new shower) and nothing feels cramped although we only expanded the space a little by taking a foot or so off the master bedroom. Trehus was able to give a detailed project schedule before we started, showing when each sub was supposed to arrive. Although there were some delays beyond TreHus’s control, such as when the carpet manufacturer shipped the wrong carpet, Trehus has such good relationships with their subcontractors that they were able to get back on track quickly. All of the workmanship was high quality—TreHus has carpenters on staff and uses very professional subcontractors. At the end of the project, they made a punch list of all of the details that needed to be fixed, and methodically worked through it until everything was perfect . We are really pleased with how attractive our new bathrooms are, and it’s a joy to use them—like going to a spa! So, in conclusion, we feel very lucky to have been able to have TreHus do our project, and would definitely use them again.”
