The process from beginning to end has many steps and is more complicated than a cookie cutter mass production builder. CDB was passionate about my design and thoughtful while helping me navigate design details, materials and efficiency.

Remodel of small kitchen in house built in 1904. Project included tearing walls and ceiling down to studs. Several layers of flooring were removed to reveal original hardwood floor that was then refinished. Footprint of kitchen remained the same, though doorway to dining room was moved 12 inches to allow for a longer counter run where cook top and oven are. Custom cabinets made by local artisans, finished with oil paint. New walls are plaster, to match rest of house. Soapstone counter tops. All new appliances (Wolf, SubZero and Bosch). Box bay with three windows added at sink run, giving additional 11 inches of counter space along that counter. Design service was thorough and creative and wonderful to work with. Project manager was wonderful and kept us informed. All trades people were great, especially the finish carpenters. The final result is fantastic. We would highly recommend this company. They were very respectful of our old house and our desire to maintain it's old feel while upgrading.

We have hired this company to work on several home improvement projects over the past 9 years. They have consistently exceeded our expectations. The planning is creative, thorough and fun. We are always given multiple options and provided the opportunity to explore all possibilities. The work is done to the highest quality and in the cleanest/least intrusive way possible, and the end result always exceeds our expectations - and on time!! The icing on the cake is the personable, patient, caring team. The team members know and care for us like family. We would like to build another home just to continue working with Custom Design/Build.

They remodeled a bathroom for me. They helped find discounted top quality fixtures, figured how to fit a washer dryer in a tricky place. They listened to my needs, and made very attempt to meet them within our budget. They left everything cleaned up at the end of the day and finished the project in good time. The one not-quite negative thing I would say is that in their wish to do the best possible job it was some times hard to talk them down from a very expensive product to one more on budget.

We engaged Debra Moore and CD/B to completely renovate a 4200 sq. ft., +20 year home. The project was a major cosmetic update to include replacing, refinishing or painting every floor covering, wall, extensive woodwork, appliances, light fixtures & fans, all hardware, cabinets & countertops in a large kitchen, 4 full baths and 2 half baths and a laundry room on all three levels of the house. Two French doors and 2 pockets doors were installed and a built-in bookcase removed. The structural work included gutting the master bath and turning one of the kitchen pantries into a wet bar. Debra Moore and her staff at CDB approached the project with a very organized, clearly defined plan that included 3 steps. A lengthy Initial Consultation to discuss and assess the goals, scope and budget of our project was followed by an exhaustive (2 month) Define & Design Phase. Finally, the execution of the Design & Build Phase was completed in May 2014. Deb is impressively knowledgeable and experienced and insists on being involved with all aspects of the building process. Her expertise is evident in our multiple meetings and numerous status updates on project details, budgets, expense reports, etc. Throughout the project Deb and her staff and trades people were always professional, friendly and accommodating. An essential person to the success of the project was CDB's experienced, knowledgeable, responsive and conscientious project manager. We cannot say enough about Russ and his team. Most importantly, because of everyone's talents, efforts, time and energy, we are extremely happy with the resulting quality of the work done. We felt it was very important to CDB for us to me more than pleased with our "new" home and we are! You will be informed and given a realistic assessment on which to go forward with a decision.

In every way Custom Design Build provided excellent service and results. They were a delight to work with at all levels. They provided a schedule and stuck to it. Their work was of the highest quality. That is why we used them for all three projects that we did and if we had another project in the future, we'd use them again. They're expensive but they're worth every penny. You only cry once when you buy quality.

We have used Custom Design-Build for at least 2 major projects. They built-on an incredible family room facing into our backyard. It is light, beautiful, functional and flows with the rest of the house. It is just the right proportion for our house and we use it everyday! They also remodeled our second floor- giving us more of a master suite using our existing footprint. They totally gutted and re-did the bathroom with beautiful tiles. They reworked windows, doors, closets to give us better use of the space. This re-model also just flows with the house and feels like it has always been this way-

We talked to a couple firms for initial consultation about how to go about making our galley kitchen more functional and opening up the space. We liked Deb's ideas the most and were impressed throughout by her ability to present options that helped us balance the desirable and the affordable. She brought in excellent design and trades professionals throughout the process, managed the schedule and process so that we could stay in the house with only moderate disruption, and helped us think through the kind of functional and aesthetic product we wanted. When we decided to go with a tropical wood for the counter and we said it had to be sustainably harvested, she found a supplier of certified wood. It ended up being a bigger job than we had intended, but we are just stunned by how beautiful and functional is the finished product. We utilized complete design and build services for a two story extension and renovation of an 80 year old home, adding a large, new kitchen, and master bedroom suite with new bathroom, while preserving the architectural uniqueness of this unusual Burns Park home. Custom brought in a great architect, wonderful kitchen designed, fantastic site manager, great finish carpenter and superb practitioners of all other trades needed. Every team member was a joy to work with and brought perfect skills sets to address our specific needs and help us transform our small, cute house into the home of our dreams.
