When the Tubbs fire destroyed our Fountaingrove home in October 2017, our decision to rebuild necessitated finding a contractor we could trust to manage every aspect of our project. We researched and interviewed a number of local contractors, but after we interviewed Fontana Construction of Marin on a friend’s recommendation, we knew we’d found the right firm. Fontana was everything we could have hoped for and more, especially during that very stressful time. Extremely client focused and quality conscious, Stevan Fontana’s team managed every aspect of the rebuild with consummate professionalism, including prompt communication, regular on-site meetings, and friendly collaboration with our architect and the city of Santa Rosa. Fontana and their reliable subs used high quality fire-resistant building methods and materials. When issues arose, Fontana was reasonable, fair and had our backs at every stage. We are saddened to hear about problems that other rebuilding homeowners have had with their building professionals in addition to all the stress brought on by the fires and their aftermath. Fontana earned our trust and built us a beautiful home on schedule. They have earned our gratitude and our highest recommendation. We have worked with Stevan and his team in the past and this project was just to confirm our experience while working with Fontana Construction: Stevan brought us on to this wonderful project in Belvedere-Tiburon to work with their client on an interior fireplace surround. We provide and install flooring products for Fontana Construction and find them to have very high expectations of their suppliers and their clients' best interests at heart. We love seeing our flooring installed in their projects because they make it look its best with their high level of craftsmanship.

My spouse and I are long-time clients, having first used Fontana Construction in 1984 to expand and remodel our 1970's California redwood home on a steep hillside. In the past 30 years, we're completed three other renovations - in Mill Valley, Penngrove, and San Francisco -- and one new residence from dirt to occupation, including installation of infrastructure. My contacts at Fontana Construction patiently taught me how to be a responsible hands-on owner. After projects were finished, every lingering detail has been addressed, even years later. I've worked with different foremen, each one a pleasure to deal with. Fontana knows how to repair other contractor's shabby workmanship. Part of the deal is having subcontractors who excel at their craft. This is a professional outfit.

We did a complete gut and remodel of a 2-unit building in San Francisco. This was our first renovation, and the Fontana team worked with us from the get-go, on value engineering (even if we didn't listen) and project management. Their time was timely, straight-forward, and honest - helping us through the entire project. The quality of the work is top notch, and a year plus later we have only has one very small issue arise - which is amazing. They would come highly recommended. I would use them again on future projects, and have recommended them to friends.

Fontana was the General Contractor for the remodel of my property in Belvedere. It was a complete remodel and I was overseas for most of the construction time. They are extremely knowledgeable and professional. They have carried out the work very satisfactory and I highly recommend them.

I have worked with Fontana Construction on many projects ranging from small but detailed bathroom remodels to large residential renovations. Without exception the clients have been very happy with the professionalism which is carried out through the entire life of the project. All building projects are filled with details and the staff keep a very close eye on these details and making sure the client is happy with the results.

Our project manager Nathan Serratore saved the day on multiple occasions. We had a flaky architect, difficult neighbours, and plenty of unforeseeable issues, but Nathan was there to keep everything on track within a reasonable budget. Overall we were very happy with Fontana Construction, especially our project manager.
